Service was very good. The host and our waitress were both friendly and attentive enough, and the food was reasonably fast. The restaurant looks cool, although I imagine it gets loud when it's busier. We had a reservation but didn't need it even on a Saturday evening, but we went early and it was summer. It seems like it would be popular with the university students when they're around.

The whole experience kind of makes me want to go out and buy a smoker however I'm not convinced I could duplicate the flavor that this had without questioning them a little bit as to exactly how they prepared it and if I were them I wouldn't answer me because why let me make this at home when I'll keep coming back and buying it from them. Now being takeout, these sandwiches sat in to-go containers for about 20 min before I got home and opened them... and they were still rather tasty. Fresh out of the kitchen can only be even better. The restaurant itself is nice looking and the wait staff seem really friendly. We started with the beef and chicken empanadas, which were well seasoned and immediately reminded me of mi abuela's empanadas. The grilled chicken breast was tender with a nice blend of citrus, garlic, and oregano, and the fried plantains were perfectly crispy on the outside with a soft center. We also enjoyed the yellow rice and potato salad, both equally delicious. For dessert, it was a toss-up between the tres leches and pineapple cake, but we both chose the tres leches and were not disappointed. The fluffy sponge and meringue frosting were the perfect ending. This recently opened spot is a hidden gem! They also serve breakfast, and since it's right on my route to work, I will definitely be becoming a regular and look forward to checking out the ambiance.
