My family stopped here on the drive up to Canada. It was an old school diner from 1950s and it feels like you've stepped back in time. The prices were not bad, you can get a dinner plate with two sides for $10-$11. I ordered the chicken and biscuit dinner with fries and coleslaw. My family got the chicken Parmesan, lasagna, and the turkey dinner. The portions were large. The staff were very nice. I would come back if I'm ever in the area.

I'm usually loyal to another diner in the Binghamton area, but always wanted to try this one for its looks. It was good! Has that old 50's diner and Americana feel, which I admittedly am a sucker for. They were busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. Pretty straight forward diner menu, generous portions, and fair pricing. We got the steak and eggs and fried eggs with corned beef hash. The food came out and our coffee was refilled, which is always a good sign at a diner. Go there for the decor. Stay for some eggs.

Growing up in Vestal, Skylark was an icon of my childhood. After moving away and after the pandemic hit, I hadn't been for years, but while visiting home over the summer I went back with a friend, and aside from no longer being open 24/7 (which is a bummer, but they're still open later than I think every other diner in the area), they're just as I remember. The menu is classic diner fare with all day breakfast. The food is mostly unremarkable but satisfying, and if you're craving really stereotypical American diner grub it will fully hit the spot. The omelettes are the thing on the menu that I keep going back to, and the potato pancake side (small fried potato patties, almost like hashbrowns, but denser and with herbs) is one thing here that stands out to me as pretty unique. Ask for the garlic parm sauce to go with. Another recommendation would be to ask for the blueberry muffin grilled, or any muffin, really. I'm a fan of all of the baked goods. The portions are very filling and it's good value for your money. The vibe is what really makes the place. I wouldn't call it a "must-visit" based on food alone, but the overall experience is wonderful. The front of the restaurant is a real retro diner, the back doesn't have that train car look but is still old-school in design (and has some bigger tables for large groups). You will see people of all ages hanging around and the general atmosphere always feels very positive to me. In all my years of coming here I've had exactly one experience with a waitress who was less than pleasant; every other time I can remember, everyone has been so sweet and if you come back they will remember you. I was surprised and touched when I went this summer after not coming for 4-ish years and the waitress remembered me and my old favourite order.

Skylark breakfast wrap is one of the best breakfast burritos in the area. It's a perfect size and has a hash brown in the middle!!!

How a diner should be! Clean, good size portions, decent service, tasty food. Egg salad sandwich and chili both first rate.

We sat outside because we had one of the few nice days around here where it didn't rain. The food was good but the shameful part here is the servers and atmosphere. During our meal, they decided to deliver hops or something to their silo outside the building but right outside the seating area. It was horrendously loud to the point of being uncomfortable with a scratching rattling noise that was terrible. We had to shout. After about 10-15 minutes of this, we complained to our server who said there wasn't anything that could be done but it should be over soon. Not long afterwards, it started to quiet down and everyone on the patio started clapping and cheering and THEN IT STARTED BACK UP. Slightly less loud, but still requiring shouting back and forth at our small table. This went on for another 30 minutes. I asked for the manager, who again said there was nothing she could do and then gave us "free drink" chips we could redeem for a free drink on another visit. We dropped over $80 for the two of us on this visit and were nearly hoarse when done talking. Then, as we are leaving, we look at the chips that we were given for our "free drink" and it's for a COFFEE on the house!! Not even a real drink. Good grief. I may have said this last time, but if at all possible, I'll never come here again. The price/atmosphere equation is radically out of balance here.

I can understand why the menu is so diverse and there are a million drink options. Also, the customer service was incredible, everyone was very nice. One downside is that there is only one bathroom but the upside is that it was very very clean. I also love all the options they had for drinks. They have a daily drink of the day that changes. My friends got that and loved it. I got one of there seasonal drink, the Spring Fling macchiato. It was a lavender and marshmallow macchiato with cold foam and sprinkles. The food options are pasties and creative toast. I personally did not get food but my friend got toast (the prosciutto & pesto one) and she loved it. All in all I would recommend this place 10/10!
