Went with a friend for dinner. The staff were super friendly and the place had charm! My friend I order the onion rings as an app, and the amount of onion rings you get for the price was fantastic (they also tasted great). I got the French Dip sandwich and added their cream of mushroom soup as a side. Soup was fantastic! The sandwich, sadly, was kind of a greasy wet mess. The bread itself was already drenched before I even dipped it, so eating it was a bit of a task. That aside, the server did allow us to try a little slice their peanut butter pie and while we didn't have room for dessert, we will definitely be coming back for pie! Phenomenal vegetable beef soup, so I was really looking forward to the Thursday special: chicken and biscuits. But it was wretched! Great homemade mashed potatoes (with canned gravy) but the chicken was a factory amalgamation of chicken parts months ago formed into an ungodly torso wrapped in plastic and now, Thursday, sliced by a machine. Food is alway good! Been here a few times. Today my husband and I stopped for lunch. Looking at the menus, my husband opted for the meatball sub which comes with a cup of soup and French fries. So I mentioned quietly that I would eat his soup, he said chicken noodle right? Yeah, I said and I continued to look at the menu. The waitress was taking his order, I was looking for either a half sandwich or a side salad in the menu when she took the menu away from me! I was dumbfounded. She picks up my husbands menu then grabbed mine right from under my face. Then walked away. My husband said you didn't get to order anything. Grabbed breakfast here, got the steak and eggs and my bf got the biscuits and gravy. We also ordered the strawberry cheesecake and cherry cheesecake. Steak was very tough, but perfectly seasoned. Potatoes were sad, dry and tasted like it was sitting in a heating unit too long. It lost the fresh flavor of a perfectly cooked potato. Eggs were perfect, muffin was good. Cheesecake was the best I've had. Light and fluffy, Gigantic cuts. I came back again to take 3 slices home. It's definitely something you shouldn't miss! The strawberry cheesecake had a layer of thin shortcake? And glazed strawberries, my cherry cheesecake had the topping on there. I think the cherry topping could be improved, but i had a jar from my state sitting at home which I added when I got home and it just made it the best cheesecake plate mmmmm. Stopped to eat while on a mission to pick up equipment in southern NY. Sat at the counter as I was alone and was immediately offered a drink. I opened the menu and decided for the special of the day. Fish with Mac and cheese and soup...8.95. Looked reasonable. Soup out in an instant and piping hot. Chicken soup. Was good. Waited for the fish - portion was large and tasted okay but definitely was frozen by the texture. Good but not great. Summary: Was refreshing to have some good dinner at a local diner with good food, service, and clientele. After couple expensive disappointing meals at national chain restaurants around the area, I didn't expect much. Starting with the excellent french onion soup, bread, and salad with the dressing was excellent. Main entrees were plentiful and desert was large and delicious, just like the diner food I enjoyed 15 + years ago in new jersey and manhattan. Top it all off, the lady who served us were excellent, coming just at the right time and giving the right recommendations. This is one of my Dad's favorite places to eat out for American comfort food. We rolled in here on a Saturday evening and I was starving. We arrived about an hour from closing and it was quiet and chill - just what we needed. Beef and Barley soup - awesome! Just enough to get our meal started. Warm bread and butter basket - awesome! Two small loaves, soft and delicious. And then the entrees came out. I was not prepared for the size of the portions. My dad had an open faced Turkey sandwich with mashed and gravy. Real roasted Turkey heaping on white bread smothered with gravy and included a bonus side of cranberry sauce. $11.99 I ordered the special BBQ Ribs and Chicken. This was a whole chicken breast and four bones of spare ribs smothered in tasty BBQ sauce with a baked potato on the side. $18.99. The chicken was juicy, the ribs were fall off the bone tender, and the BBQ sauce was tangy and just right. I did my best but couldn't quite finish it. Neither of us had room for a delicious dessert, but one cake in the case caught my attention. I don't know what this is, but it was towering over the other cakes at nearly a foot tall. This meal was exactly what we needed and I will go back again to try some of the other things on the menu. You can't beat the value. The prices are reasonable and the portions immense. read more

I'm baffled as to how they've been able to stay open since the lockdown without having any online presence or even having an online menu. I've attempted to rectify this with the attached twelve photos. Lunch/dinner menu for the first seven, four for the breakfast menu and one of the kids' menu. My husband and I went here today for eggs and toast and bacon. Within 1 hour after leaving we were both experiencing cold sweats, cramps, nausea, dizziness. Absolutely horrible waitress here. Apparently you have to ask for a menu with food other than breakfasts in it. When my mother in law asked if they served food other than breakfast the waitress got nasty about us not asking for menus with lunch or dinner food. The ONLY good thing about this whole diner is the homefries. The before omelet was terrible. Raw mushroom and broccoli....that's all that was in their veggie omelet. I asked for well done bacon, looked well done but wasn't. It was thrown into a fryer instead of the grill. The toast was warmed bread. They sat us quickly and asked for our drinks, which was awesome....to only wait 10 minutes for anyone to come by. No one ever brought us a menu, we had to look online since everyone was too busy. Waitress didn't even wait for me to finish ordering, she just assumed I was done and I didn't even pause. We waited a while for the food but when it came out it was nice and hot. We had to ask for more cream which took five minutes to get....and she pretty much threw it at the table. Waited 10 minutes for a box. She only brought it when she saw us stand up to leave. She was fabulous, answered all our questions and delivered the food without any errors, the food was delicious. I had the French dip. Our current practice is to leave generous tips for the waitstaff, if we are tended to as we should be. Things have been tough in the restaurant business, for one thing. Then, there is the government handout, which does not motivate people to get back to work. So often the staff, from waitstaff to kitchen in places like this are challenged in many ways. Right from the get go our waitress was rude, she did not greet us, she walked up to the table and said "are you ready to order?" We hadn't even ordered our drinks yet. We proceeded to order our drinks and food at the same time, She went and got our drinks, then proceeded to slam them down on our table, and walk away, to go talk to another customer. I will definitely keep this place in the breakfast rotation from now on. It's very spacious compared to other small packed diners around town. You won't ever have trouble finding parking here either. Great food, generous portions and family friendly. Brought my whole family (15) for lunch. The grandchildren loved the Mac-n-cheese and old fashioned milk shakes, and for me, the Philly cheesesteak with sides and a huge piece of homemade double chocolate cake. This was definitely a let down. The service was not good. The food was not good. We were unable to order a couple things because they were out on a weekday afternoon. And it was overpriced. Our waitress was rude, acted annoyed the whole time, and didn't bring out half of our food until we asked for it. I wanted to order the French dip sandwich but they were out of roast beef. So I settled on something they did have and it was the chicken tenders basket and it was terrible. The fries and tenders were both awful. I also got a cup of chicken noodle soup and it was bland and the noodles were so soggy and gross. The kids macaroni and cheese was way over cooked and they didn't even want two bites of it. Plus their meal was supposed to come with a dinner roll and then either jello or ice cream for dessert. When we asked for the bread she said the meals didn't come with it. Then she returned, threw a basket of hard bread on the table, and said they'd changed the menu and she didn't know.. She never brought the desserts out.
