Baklava cake

I'm in love with this Diner. The owner is very nice, as was the staff. It's a welcoming place, the service is great, food is pretty good. It's a nice diner, ambiance is very laid back, a very soothing environment. It's very clean, I'd recommend, in fact I've been here 3xs this week to eat.

The price and the tast go great together. I was in NY for two weeks and I ate here 6 days out of 10. Don't forget about ther dessert, are amazing l.

Cherry cheesecake
Philicia S.

Grabbed breakfast here, got the steak and eggs and my bf got the biscuits and gravy. We also ordered the strawberry cheesecake and cherry cheesecake. Steak was very tough, but perfectly seasoned. Potatoes were sad, dry and tasted like it was sitting in a heating unit too long. It lost the fresh flavor of a perfectly cooked potato. Eggs were perfect, muffin was good. Cheesecake was the best I've had. Light and fluffy, Gigantic cuts. I came back again to take 3 slices home. It's definitely something you shouldn't miss! The strawberry cheesecake had a layer of thin shortcake? And glazed strawberries, my cherry cheesecake had the topping on there. I think the cherry topping could be improved, but i had a jar from my state sitting at home which I added when I got home and it just made it the best cheesecake plate mmmmm. I'm drooling right now, sitting in my house in the state I live missing the cheesecake. Service was okay, hard to find the server, but they were friendly and eventually got us what we needed. Ambience, modern and clean. A little dark inside but overall a cute quaint diner to stop. Just don't forget to try the cheesecake mmmmmmm Anywho! I will come back again!

Fish special with Mac and cheese

Stopped to eat while on a mission to pick up equipment in southern NY. Sat at the counter as I was alone and was immediately offered a drink. I opened the menu and decided for the special of the day. Fish with Mac and cheese and soup...8.95. Looked reasonable. Soup out in an instant and piping hot. Chicken soup. Was good. Waited for the fish - portion was large and tasted okay but definitely was frozen by the texture. Good but not great. Mac and cheese - I'm not a Big Mac and cheese person but this was pretty mushy and I just didn't like it. Service was fine....if in the area I'd probably give another place a shot.

'Top sirloin'

We ordered top sirloin, it came as 1/4" slices of meat. I ordered it medium- rare. It was well-done because that is all you can do with 1/4" thick meat. I complained to the 'manager', he was put out that we were questioning the meal.

Eggs Benedict

Not a place to recommend. Long wait to get food. Had two waitresses...one came took drink orders and then left. Another waitress came and had to retake the order. Waiting a long time for food. ?? Bathrooms were not clean. Soap dispenser was broken and the inner unit was on the sink. Waitress too busy to show any real polite service. Food was just so-so.... Got breakfast items. Hash browns were bland; no seasoning. The place just didn't stand out. I would try other diners.

BBQ Ribs and Chicken Special plus Open Faced Hot Turkey Sandwich with Mashed and Gravy

This is one of my Dad's favorite places to eat out for American comfort food. We rolled in here on a Saturday evening and I was starving. We arrived about an hour from closing and it was quiet and chill - just what we needed. Beef and Barley soup - awesome! Just enough to get our meal started. Warm bread and butter basket - awesome! Two small loaves, soft and delicious. And then the entrees came out. I was not prepared for the size of the portions. My dad had an open faced Turkey sandwich with mashed and gravy. Real roasted Turkey heaping on white bread smothered with gravy and included a bonus side of cranberry sauce. $11.99 I ordered the special BBQ Ribs and Chicken. This was a whole chicken breast and four bones of spare ribs smothered in tasty BBQ sauce with a baked potato on the side. $18.99. The chicken was juicy, the ribs were fall off the bone tender, and the BBQ sauce was tangy and just right. I did my best but couldn't quite finish it. Neither of us had room for a delicious dessert, but one cake in the case caught my attention. I don't know what this is, but it was towering over the other cakes at nearly a foot tall. This meal was exactly what we needed and I will go back again to try some of the other things on the menu. You can't beat the value. The prices are reasonable and the portions immense.

A Magical Stay My…read moreDaughter, Grandmother, and I recently took a road trip to visit family in Binghamton. From the moment we arrived at Traditions at the Glen in New York, we knew we were in for something special. A sanctuary among stunning natural beauty, this hotel offers a rare combination of breathtaking scenery, heartfelt hospitality, and rich history -- all of which made our experience unforgettable. The scenery is absolutely impeccable -- nestled amidst lush greenery with breathtaking views in every direction, it felt like we had stepped into a peaceful retreat away from the everyday. The gardens adorning the estate were in full fragrant bloom -- Butterflies fluttered among pink blooms and red roses, while bees hummed softly, savoring each blossom's sweetness. Around the lawn's fountain, rose bushes blushed in full bloom as birds dipped playfully in the water, sending sparkling droplets into the air--a quiet ballet of nature in perfect harmony. Whether it was early morning mist rising from the hills or the golden glow of sunset through the trees, every moment was picture-perfect. One of the most remarkable aspects of Traditions is its origin as a private residence. That warm history is still very much alive in the atmosphere, creating a unique sense of coziness and charm that is truly a treasure in itself. The elegant architecture, thoughtfully preserved details, and welcoming common spaces made us feel like we were stepping into a beautifully cared-for home rather than just a hotel. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the people. The staff at Traditions are some of the kindest and most passionate individuals we've ever encountered. A heartfelt thank you to Barbara at the front desk who welcomed us with such warmth and professionalism that we immediately felt at home. She went above and beyond to make sure our check-in was seamless and that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. A special shout-out goes to Kayla, the bartender and hospitality waitress whose friendly smile, attentive service, and genuine care made every evening in the lounge and dining room feel like catching up with an old friend. Her attention to detail and warm demeanor added a personal touch that truly made a difference. And we can't forget Larry, who oversaw breakfast each morning. His pride in the kitchen and hospitality shined through in every delicious bite and every kind word. He brought such a comforting energy to the start of each day with a hearty meal and a kind smile. Though we didn't catch the names of every team member, it's clear that every single staff member at Traditions takes pride in their work and truly values their guests. Their collective hospitality and passion made our stay not just comfortable, but genuinely heartwarming. Traditions at the Glen isn't just a place to stay -- it's a place to feel at peace, to connect, and to create memories. We left feeling refreshed, deeply cared for, and already looking forward to returning. Thank you to the entire team for such a beautiful and heartfelt experience.

I went back here despite my better judgment because an old friend I hadn't seen in a while desired…read moreto go here for some drinks and food and to catch up. We sat outside because we had one of the few nice days around here where it didn't rain. The food was good but the shameful part here is the servers and atmosphere. During our meal, they decided to deliver hops or something to their silo outside the building but right outside the seating area. It was horrendously loud to the point of being uncomfortable with a scratching rattling noise that was terrible. We had to shout. After about 10-15 minutes of this, we complained to our server who said there wasn't anything that could be done but it should be over soon. Not long afterwards, it started to quiet down and everyone on the patio started clapping and cheering and THEN IT STARTED BACK UP. Slightly less loud, but still requiring shouting back and forth at our small table. This went on for another 30 minutes. I asked for the manager, who again said there was nothing she could do and then gave us "free drink" chips we could redeem for a free drink on another visit. We dropped over $80 for the two of us on this visit and were nearly hoarse when done talking. Then, as we are leaving, we look at the chips that we were given for our "free drink" and it's for a COFFEE on the house!! Not even a real drink. Good grief. I may have said this last time, but if at all possible, I'll never come here again. The price/atmosphere equation is radically out of balance here.
