My only wish was that there had been one more tortilla, as I had enough left on my plate to fill one more -- regardless, what I had left on my plate I enjoyed anyhow. Oh man, I couldn't get this delicious and flavorful food in my mouth fast enough. Had the chicken scampi, I could eat it every day. So yummy. Staff is husband and wife, I believe. Nice, friendly people serving authentic Mexican cuisine. Prices are pretty cheap. Interior is quaint, clean, cozy. I definitely want to go back and try every dish. I've had Mexican food in Mexico and SanDiego and i'm telling you this seafood burrito was one of the best Burritos I've ever had. Tried to eat here twice. I feel bad leaving a negative review because the people there are so nice but I'm considering it a PSA. Did not go to flavor-town. I knew when I asked for hot sauce and they handed me a bottle of Franks Red Hot, I was in trouble. Just about everything we ordered had no flavor, food made without love. Liquid refried beans, bland rice, jarred salsa and fajitas with mostly onion and pepper with bits of meat that looked to be cut to be stretched out. Dry, dry, dry. Bring your own hot sauce and spices because this place took a page from the nursing home menu. Don't worry about getting a refill on water or chips because you won't get one. How does this place have 4 stars, for real? Honestly if I could give this place zero stars, that would be more appropriate. I have been here 3 times. First time, the owner tried to charge us for WATER that he served us. When we confronted him, he said "well it costs money to clean the cup." LOL You can't make this stuff up! Second time, his family and friends were in there having a party or something? The restaurant was open for dining still. We were the only people in there besides the owners friends and family. Felt like we were intruding so we left. Third time we went, I ordered a steak chimichanga, it was ground beef. We again confronted the owner and he literally gave us an attitude and then said that ground beef and steak are the same LOL! Anyways, this place is a JOKE and serves the worst quality shitty Mexican food you will ever eat. On the same level as school cafeteria taco Tuesday. It's sad. We really wanted to root for this place but my god it's seriously one of the worst restaurants in Owego. If you are looking for a meal, you honestly are better off getting a slice of pizza from the Mirabito gas station across the street. Anything is better than this place. Also, Owego has SO many other great places to eat. If you are looking for good enough Mexican food, head up to Old Mexico in Ithaca. read more

What a cozy little diner! We stopped here after we did the morning show at WEBO radio for our Coffee Shop on Front Street . We love supporting local small business. I recently had breakfast here and while I liked River Rock Diner better, Ernesto's is a lot better than what Harris Diner had to offer! Ernesto's is well worn in but very cozy. The waitress I had was great, she was attentive and polite and kept up on the refills without me having to ask, I think her name might have been Bonnie. The food was ok, some stuff better than others. The scrambled eggs were good, but it's hard to mess those up (Harris Diner totally messes em up though!). the toast was good but they didn't have any jelly packets out for it, so that was kind of a bummer. I wasn't the biggest fan of the bacon, some parts were a little too chewy, and a lot of times when you order scrambled eggs the order will include bacon or sausage but the menu wasn't like that here, I had to order bacon as a side and because of that my meal ended up costing a little more than the average diner. The home fries were kinda disappointing. I don't usually add salt and pepper to home fries but the ones here needed it. they were also on the dry side, they seemed stale. The pancakes though were very good, they were nice and fluffy and I liked the flavor. I don't know what brand of syrup they serve here, but it compliments the pancakes nicely! so overall this place definitely has potential, if they improved their home fries and bacon I would like this place a lot better! My cousins and I passed this place on our way to our campsite. Something about this small town diner attracted our eye so we agreed to eat there. The food was delicious, the menu had a variety of options from a simple fettuccini alfredo to a nice mexican steak encebollado. But this review is about our girl Tina. She was our server and immediately greeted us with a smile. She recommended us her favorite dishes (which were great choices). We told her about out problems while camping and hooked us up with plastic silverware, paper for our fire, and tin to go containers so we could heat up our leftovers on the fire. She was super sweet and so helpful with our situation. Shout out to my girl Tina making us feel so welcome and comfortable! We're coming back tomorrow for breakfast !! read more
