The food was very good. They were able to accommodate me and had a good gluten free selection.

Great food and very nice owners. They let us try some chicken Biryani before ordering. Lovely back terrace to enjoy views of the river.

We had the chicken platter; mine with humus, terziki sauce and chic peas.

Nov, 2024. Bethel Kitchens (Scranton, PA)/catering. For context, we normally live in Virginia, but…read morewould be hosting a Nepalese "rice feeding" ceremony and luncheon for our 6-month-old granddaughter and 17 guests at a home in northeastern Pennsylvania. We were thrilled to find Bethel Kitchens in Scranton, and my husband (who is Nepalese) made arrangements for a buffet luncheon from Bethel Kitchens, including delivery (15 miles away, $65). We ordered half-trays of a variety of items -- vegetable biryani (rice, with was served with raita (yogurt, cucumber, tomato); goat choila (spiced boneless roasted meat); chicken momos (steamed dumplings) served with tomato achar sauce; cauliflower and potato curry; small-sized (as we requested) potato and pea samosa snacks; and jalebi, for dessert. The food was authentic and very tasty, and the quantities were very good. One minor concern was that the curry was very spicy , even for the Nepalis in our group, even though we had asked and reminded the restaurant that we needed them to limit the chili peppers. The order was delivered on time, with good communications when they were on their way. Prices were fair and reasonable. All restaurant staff that we interacted with were friendly. We also dropped into the actual restaurant in Scranton to finalize the plans for catering. It's tastefully decorated, and welcoming. We'll definitely visit again for a meal during our next visit to Scranton.

Two stars for bad service. Order was 50% incorrect…read more Ordered delivery via Door Dash. Spent a ton of money because I've never had Tibetan/Nepalese food before, figured since my wife was away might as well go all out. Ordered pork sekwa, chicken choila, jhol laphing, aloo nimki, sadeko chawchaw, chatpate minimum, puri sabji, pork c-momo, and chicken thukpa. Figured this should be enough for the weekend. I asked for no raw onions (every line on the Door Dash instructions), every dish is littered with them. Some of the items are so tiny it's not worth picking out the raw onions, so the dishes will wind up in the trash. The sekwa and choila didn't come with the puffed beaten rice either, and I didn't get the puri sabji (got two chatpates). The best of the lot was the thukpa, very tasty and flavor soup with lo mein noodles and tandoori-esque bbq chicken inside. The pork chili momo was pretty good too, not too spicy, a little crispy, good texture. I was able to scrape away the onions from the choila, nice taste, little chunks of chicken reminding me of chicken 65 or chili chicken. It also had cilantro and other herbs but I scraped most of it off because I can't eat raw onions. The aloo nimki was saturated in oil, but resembles roti in a sense. It wasn't puffed up at all but I'll chalk that up to the delivery distance. I have one left, will use the potato dip later. The pork sekwa is fatty pork pieces in a red dye and tandoori bbq color with typical seasoning (cumin/coriander/cilantro and some citrus). I can take or leave it, not a fan of fatty meat. Will probably save it and saute it later with rice. The jhol laphing is also pretty interesting; cold noodle with some crispy rice bits and other herbs inside. I can't eat the chatpate or sadeko chawchaw as they're loaded with onios. Overall don't think I'd repeat an order since this one was badly messed up. What I could eat though tasted nice however.

Ordered via Doordash delivery and even back home the service was fast and friendly…read more Wanted Tibetan food again and kind of a redemption meal since Bethels completely blew it for me when I tried them. This time I ordered all chicken except for the momo because to be honest, I hate fatty pork. Ordered chicken choila and sekwa, chili chicken, and pork chili momo. I asked for no onions on every line and Nepali actually listened. It took some time for the restaurant to get the food to the driver, so makes me think everything was prepared fresh. Everything tasted great, spicy but not face melting spicy. It was easy to pick up some cilantro and cumin notes, as well as other spices I unfortunately cannot name. The only down side was the momo was a bit soggy but the taste was really good. I'll definitely order again from Nepali or actually shop at the store for unique ingredients.

The bar and restaurant is tucked into the back of a small ethnic grocery store. Parking is very limited and we nearly got t-boned pulling in, but people never esteem those things that come easily. There weren't any beverages on the menu, but there is an impressive array of soft drinks available to buy in the store, and a moderately well-stocked bar. The menu is limited but it all sounded good. We each ordered a soup, and we tried to order three sides to share, but they only had one available- the chat patey, so we got that. It turns out to be a sort of spiced crispy puffed rice dish with little bits of pickled carrot and pepper. I could have eaten the whole thing myself, but I was afraid that my family might never forgive me. The Kid also ordered the pork shekuwa ($10.99) which is a kind of seasoned grilled pork cubes with vegetables- think kebab without a stick. It was delicious- the pork was juicy and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The Kid and I both ordered the pork jhol momo - a spicy broth filled with pork dumplings ($11.99 each). My Bride got the chicken jhol momo ($11.99), which was just as delicious but I found it a touch less spicy. The dumplings (momo) are apparently a popular street food in Nepal. With tax, but before tip, this delicious and sinus-fixing feast for the senses came to $55. Worth every penny. TL;DR - the parking sucks but the food more than repays the effort. Highly recommended.
