As a fellow Dominican coming from NYC, I was not at all impressed with the food here. In just a couple words, the food here seems bland and not at all up to par with authentic flavors. We have tried this place on two separate occasions, ordered different dishes, and have even introduced the food to my mother who is from the Dominican Republic. We weren't impressed and neither was she. We were very confused as the workers are all Dominican and there was a long wait (30 min to an hour), so we thought the food would be excellent. We will say that the staff is very friendly and welcoming. They handled any concerns and haven't caused us any issues. Most of the juices here seem to be as good as any other Hispanic place (love the passion fruit juice). The traditional "Morir Sonando" (Orange juice and condensed milk drink (tastes way better than it sounds) is made well but nothing spectacular. If you're into that drink you won't be disappointed, but you won't be raving about it. The best thing about this place would have to be the parking right outside the location. The parking makes it really easy to wait while your food is being prepared. If needed, the servers will even wave to you when your food is ready. All in all, we've given this place a fair amount of chances and it's safe to say we most likely won't be eating here again. That's not to say you shouldn't try this location, especially if you've never had Dominican food before. Many other people and reviewers seem to enjoy it. The mofongo in this place is the best I've had! The cook definitely takes his job seriously. The presentation of my plate was A-1. Would recommend this place over and over again! It's a nice small spot definitely worth the try if you love Dominican food! read more

Nasty. Made me wanna cry at how bad and disgusting it was. I had the meat yaroa, it was a waist of maduros. Don't get it. They put ketchup shredded cheese and meat on it. The mofongo had NO flavor, and who put cheese on top of it. Would not recommend. You'd be better off eating your own home cooked meals. read more

Im Dominican and very disappointed with the food. I been to the restaurant when I was pregnant and craving and the food quality is better than when you order. Not sure why these other reviews are so low. I thought this place was great! You get a lot of food for the price and the service is excellent. Best Cubano I've tried around here. The fries are mediocre so get the tostanos instead. So far I've really enjoyed whatever we've gotten here. read more

If you are looking for fancy, Wanda's is not for you. If you are looking for delicious food, generous helpings, and friendly people...come to Wanda's Mofongo House. I visited today with a friend. I ordered Wanda's Yaroa and it was amazing. The portion was huge, I only ate half...but boy was it delicious. Wanda's does an amazing job with the Dominican dish. My friend had chicken and Mofongo. She said it was delicious. When you pull in the parking lot, don't let your eyes judge this restaurant...leave that to your taste buds. I will definitely be back. read more

Tried going there twice. The first time my friend tried to get us food on a Sunday at 11 am. She told him to come back at 12. When he showed up at 12 she said come back at 1. He didn't return. Today I got there at 11:30 and she popped her head out of her restaurant door while I was getting out of my car and said she wasn't opening until 12. She didn't even ask if I wanted to leave an order. How is this a way to keep a lunch place opened? I left and drive 5 minutes up to another local Spanish place that was opened and ready to go. Yesterday June 10th I placed an order that included some rice and beans with chicken on white sauce. When the food got here, I ate the other item I ordered and did not touch the chicken and rice. Today my kids wanted some of the rice and beans and I put some on the plates, heated it up, and gave it to them, noone ate the chicken. I went back to the kitchen to mix some of the rice with the rest of the beans so I can have it ready in case they wanted seconds. I took the salad out of the plate and threw it on the garbage and proceeded to do the same with the chicken. When I started to mix the rice and beans, I found a small ROACH or some kinda of BUG that looks like it. I am never ordering from there again. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after hearing 2 of my friends had a bad experience there, but it looks like they were right. My kids ate food contaminated with a bug!!!!! Disgusting!!!! At first glance from the outside looking in it very promising especially being one of very few Spanish restaurants but fell far from expectations. Coming in it was up to me to seat myself, and figure out what they didn't have on top of there very limited menu but I decided to stay. after ordering I was able to smoke a cigarette go to CVS and watch a couple videos on YouTube and after like 45 min they forgot what I ordered and let me just say it's very small restaurant.
