Pizza Fries once occupied this container...temporarily

Hi guys and ladies - well, I'm presently in Pennsylvania and am out checking out the grubberies... Now, I have driven by this place for a year and have never stopped in. It's in a location that is a bit awkward but DO NOT LET THIS STOP YOU!! Today, I took my dog for grooming a few blocks up. I asked if there was a reason pace I could chill and grub as I was told it would take between 1.5 & 2 hours. It brought a smile to my face because Tommy's Subs was a grub spot I have been wanting to try. The ambiance here is surprisingly casual and welcoming. The music plays just loud enough and it's a good combination - from Top 50 to funk to country to Spanish Rap, etc. I really appreciated the mix. As it was my first time here - I wasn't sure how to order. But, when in Rome... I ordered the Tommy's 12" Steak Sub. I added hot peppers and onions. I also ordered a Coke Zero and an order of Pizza Fries. Coke machine is one of those fancy 100+ options. So get creative and mix what you want. They also serve canned beverages. They serve desserts as well. Check out their Dessert Display Case. They also offer cold beer!! The place is very clean!! There is an inviting fireplace and a few tables. There are also 15 high chairs with counters to accommodate. When I let the woman at the counter know it was my first time she smiled. I'm guessing cause she knew I would enjoy it. The Pizza Fries were super tasty. And btw there is enough in the order to share with two more people! It's a good deal. The Tommy Steak Sub was also very tasty. The bread was toasted and crunchy. When you come by and order this - you kinda have to "build" it so make sure you let them know what you want on it as far as condiments. And if I may - don't show your A$$ if there is an extra charge and you never asked. As a chef everything costs so if it comes out of the kitchen - it's paid for. They also offer slushy's and casual gambling - PA Lottery and Keno. And if you're into betting the ponies - you can do that here as well. So, if you are in the area of Jim Thorpe or the surrounding areas you OWE IT TO YOURSELF to make this a regular grub spot. So, when you stop by let them know that I referred them. I will be leaving PA soon but am glad I got to experience Tommy's Subs on 4th St in Jim Thorpe. And I KNOW I will be stopping by before I head back to Cali. Enjoy!!

Small shop in a small town. We stopped by this place which isn't too far from Blue Mountain. Staff are friendly and they have a wide variety of sandwiches and pizza on their menu. Pizza pies are small here but tasty. I think the bread here is custom made. It has a doughy fun chewy texture which makes the sandwiches delicious. There's a slot machine to the left of the entrance and to the right of the entrance are some frozen alcohol drinks.

Tried it for the first time. My sister is a local resident and it's definitely some of the cheapest around. The slices are ridiculously hefty! Loaded with cheese. Absolutely worth the money. Highly recommend and we'll most definitely order again to try more! A decent portion of popcorn chicken and fries. Both were nothing spectacular. Run of the mill chicken and fries. The funnel fries were the most disappointing but still pretty good. The portion was minuscule compared to the pizza and chicken. All in all, order here! I will again.

Amazing food, bug selection and great pricing!! Highly recommend for travels instead of spending so much at the tourist restaurants in Jim Thorpe. Apparently they have a pickle pizza that is really popular...I will get this the next time I'm in town! Small eating area. Nice variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. short wait time.

They recently switched to electronic menu boards.

Nice little neighborhood sandwich shop with an eclectic mix of items: Coca-Cola Freestyle machine for fountain sodas, a wall of refrigerated individual sodas and beer, plus 40 oz. beer and 6-packs, plus 2-liters sodas, iced tea, and milk, plus a wide range of specialty sandwiches, a few salads and entrees plus pizza, either slices or whole pies. The desserts all look delicious: slices of cheese cake, individually wrapped brownies and some half pies. A sign hangs on the refrigerated case that alcohol is for take-out only -- you cannot drink it in their dining room. Strangely enough, they also sell lottery tickets, cigarettes, and Cracker Jack and bagged Trolli gummi candy. I don't know why, but the Freestyle machine doesn't have root beer, but they do have other non-caffeinated choices. If you want root beer, they do have it in individual bottles. Seating is a pair of standard sandwich shop four-seater booths, plus about eight stools arranged at two different counters. A TV was playing the Phillies game live when my girlfriend and I were there. I got the 8" steak sandwich, fries and fountain soda special for $8.49. My girlfriend got "pizza fries", a fountain soda and a brownie. I got enough fries for two people, though Kelly said that they do reheat well in the oven... Our total was something like $18.xx. I got my steak sandwich with everything: cheese, sauce, mushrooms, onions, hot & sweet peppers. Other Yelpers have said that the rolls are home made, which I would agree with. It was on the softer side but good. CASH ONLY -- ATM machine is on the premises. Street parking...

Tommy's is the best for cheesesteak in Jim Thorpe! I can count on them for good, quality food at reasonable prices.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

It was packed when I arrived, so I expected a wait, but it ended up being a bit longer than I hoped. They seemed a little understaffed for the season, though the staff that were there were super friendly and doing their best to keep things moving. Outdoor seating was really nice. Breezy, shaded, and a good spot to rest your feet after being out all day. Indoors is small but cozy in that old-town way. A lot of people stop here because there's a restroom, so there's constant movement, but even with all the traffic the place stayed clean and the staff stayed kind. The food was solid. I ordered the stew and it was exactly the kind of hearty dish I wanted. Rich gravy, tender meat, and it was served over mashed potatoes that soaked everything up in the best way. Comfort food without being heavy in a bad way. Portions were medium but fair for the price. It did take a long time to get my box and check at the end, but considering how busy they were it made sense. Overall, it's a nice spot in a charming little town and a good place to take a break while exploring all the autumn-vibe streets around it.

The staff seemed polite, expressing their apologies for the wait times. The staff insists that "it's well worth the wait," but the real question is: is waiting over an hour for food truly worth it? After placing our breakfast order around 10:40 AM, we eagerly anticipated a plate of fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon, but alas, time marched on. In fact, it marched so slowly that I'm convinced we slipped into an alternate universe, where time doesn't exist and food is just a mythical creature. By 11:45 AM, we were staring at the menu again, now featuring lunch items, and questioning whether breakfast is merely a figment of our imaginations. To make matters worse, the entire experience felt like a tourist trap--no pun intended--where dreams and appetites go to die. You know it's bad when you start contemplating whether the short stack of pancakes and omelet you ordered actually requires a passport to arrive. So, if you're looking for a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal that may or may not arrive before dinner service, this gem is for you. But for me? I'll be sticking to an actual looking glass, where at least I know the reflection of my breakfast is not just a cruel joke. Never again. Nope. Edit** we walked down the road to Antonio's pizza, the place was packed but managed to find one empty table. Upon sitting down our order was taken within 2min. Our food then took 10min until it came out. We were blown away! Antonio's for the win!
