Renee's is awesome! We love grabbing lunch here. It's the perfect little deli. I didn't know they have cookies which normally I can't indulge in because of having a kiddo with food allergies but I will have to try one the next time I go sans kids. The size of the servings is amazing for the price. We stopped by this week on our way out of town and didn't need to get anything else (no fast food is a plus in my book) on our 4-hour ride out of state. Can't wait to try a cheesesteak my husband got a supreme (I think) and I tried it wooweee it was delicious. P.S. I was driving thru White Haven and was going to stop at The White Haven Diner and pulled into their parking lot and they were closed. Open 6 days a week but closed on Thursday; which today is. So I opened up my Yelp app to see what is around. So I thought I would give Renee's a try. So I ordered their Crab Soup and an Italian Hoagie. Soup was delicious. it was red not a cream style. Lot's of veggies. Served hot with saltine crackers; which I did not use. Hoagie was huge!packed with lots of meat on a fresh tasty hoagie roll! Cannot recommend this place highly enough- true hidden gem. Was making a cross-country road trip, and all the "healthy" roadside food I was seeing for miles was Subway. Suddenly, Renee's Cold Cut Hut appeared on the GPS like an oasis in the desert. Incredible menu of classic sandwhiches with no frills (I tried the special of the day, a no-nonsense tuna hoagie). Stopped here at the half-way point of a bike ride from Jim Thorpe. We were early and they were open! We got breakfast sandwiches that were just wonderful and very inexpensive. Good coffee. Even the restroom was nice. The owners were very nice and we could also eat outside (a few tables). This made for a great experience - if you are doing the out-and-back on the Lehigh check these guys out - it's a great place to fuel up with some good food. We have a short list of places we discover in the world that we will go out of our way to eat. This is one of them. We will be back the next time up. read more

This was my first trip to Renee's after driving by many times. Because of the restrictions due to Covid-19, I called my order in. Took me a few tries to reach someone and I'm glad I did. I was in the mood for a cheese steak sandwich and it was spot on! The meat was moist, not greasy, and the roll had good texture. I will definitely be back. Some of the employees here are rude. Bought hoagies today, was charged 27.99 when it should have been 24.00. Another woman had her stuff on the counter near the register so I ended up being charged for her stuff too. When the mistake was brought up, the woman who rang me out, gave me a bunch of ones and said "there you're good now get the f*** out". The hoagies were dry, the deli meats were slimy. I asked for American cheese on the turkey and cheese hoagie and got provolone. Nothing like the hoagies you would get in the Philadelphia area. When I first walked in, they were complaining of the tourists that had come up for MDW and the ones who visit to bike the trails. Kept saying "I would've closed the f****** doors. I'm sick of the rushes when they flood the town. I'm not answering the damn phones anymore today. All it is, is f****** tourists. I hate them" Rude, ignorant, and poorly made hoagies. There is something about this place that just does it for me. It really it just a counter with some fresh cold cuts, but when the food is this good that is pretty much all you need. I am a sucker for an Italian sub, and this place did it just about as well as anywhere I have ever had. Renee's is totally worth the trip and considering that the subs are huge and priced indecently well, you will probably be going back for more soon. Moreover, the staff there are amazingly friendly, you will wish that they had a couple tables stay and chat for a while! read more

The reviews had me hyped up. I thought "Wow, finally a place in this area with a good sandwich." I bought an Italian. It was huge. The ham tastes cheap which ruined the sandwich for me. The roast beef was good though! I would have taken the ham off but there was only 3 thin layers of meat, maybe 4. The sandwich was probably as good if not better quality from if you bought a premade sandwich at Weis. We have been going here since this place opened and in the beginning I would have given this place five stars. Having known what their hoagies were like when they started out. To the lettuce on a non "New Jersey" roll that we got today. No have to say we will not be going back there because the draw for us having been from the Philadelphia area, were in fact the rolls! No, they weren't Philly rolls but they were way better then the spongey rolls everyone sells up here. We kept giving Renee's the benefit of the doubt because we did like their rolls. Even after my husband and I ate here twice in the past year and we both ended up with diarrhea two separate times. Now, that they are skimping on meat and filling their local rolls more with lettuce then lunch meat. We decided today that we won't be giving them anymore of our business. read more

While driving on route 80 on the way home from my weekend we used google maps to find a deli on our way. The best thing about this place is not only the yummy cold cut sandwiches that you can get with suggested items like pickles, salt pepper and oregano, or oil & vinegar etc but the highlight was the woman who took care of us. This hole in the wall is terrific. The owner is from South Jersey and makes real Philly hoagies. We had Italian Hoagies. The cold cuts were delicious, sliced very thin and piled just high enough to create a burst of flavor without overflowing the sandwich. The owner brings her rolls up from New Jersey and they're also perfect. It might be the best hoagie I've had outside of Philadelphia. And the owners were really friendly with great sense of humor.
