He came back and found that the problem was not the key at all, but the reader in my van, which is apparently not uncommon with that vehicle. He fixed it and charged me $65 for the extra visit. He's very competent, and the $65 is fair, and the problem was not his fault (nor mine). But I also run a service business, and I probably would have extended a small amount of generosity and done it for free as a good will gesture. If you only knew how many, very disappointing service providers there are out there... And getting worse every day. Fortunately, this is not one of them. Recently purchased a truck (older model) that came with two worn out keys. I texted a picture of one worn out key & Tommy showed up with two new already cut keys. Great service. Came all the way to SF and got the job done in less than 30 minutes. Fixed the lock on my car door and now works like new.

Tommy is great! Tommy responded within 1 day to fix my car keyfobs not working. He said he would arrive between 10am - 12pm, and call 30 minutes beforehand. He did all the above. Upon arrival Tommy quickly diagnosed the issue with the car keyfob. He has all the high-tech equipment in his van to service and program keyfob's, so it all went very quickly. Upon requesting a quote through yelp he got back to us in less than 30 minutes! He requested photos of the lock that needed to be opened and from there gave us a good and accurate quote. We weren't in any rush to get the lock working again so he came out the earlier the next day although he did say he could make it out same day. Unfortunately the lock wasn't as easy to open as expected so the whole lock had to be removed. From there he ordered a new part and that was installed about 3 days later. He sent out a separate technician for the installation and it went smoothly! Double checked everything was in working order! Overall the communication was great and the pricing was reasonable for the work done. Would definitely recommend using his services! Very reliable! read more

Tommy's Locksmith is actually a really awesome locksmith but instead of a brick and mortar store, he has a van kitted out with every tool he needs. He comes to your house fully equipped. He fixed the lock on a patio door with a parts he fabricated because they no longer make that lock any more. The man is a craftsman. His job is an art form, not just a job.
