Unfortunately, the entire evening was a complete operational failure from both the kitchen and management. The oysters and mac and cheese were fine, but things went entirely off the rails with our entree. We ordered the filet mignon medium rare; it came out rare close to raw. We sent it back, an understandable kitchen mistake except when it returned, the outside was burnt to a crisp and it was so heavily over salted that it was completely inedible after a single bite. My wife had to spit out her piece. By that point, our appetite was gone, but we gave them another chance and ordered the scallops (which were fine). The service staff was polite, but the real issue is how management handled a two-hour ordeal. It wasn't about the money, it was about the total absence of goodwill, accountability, or basic hospitality. After wasting two hours of our evening dealing with a double-botched entree at high end prices, there was zero effort to make it right no comped drinks and no complimentary gesture. Instead, we found a hidden token "discount" on the ruined steak we couldn't even eat. When I originally posted an honest review of this experience on Google, they had it quietly and immediately deleted rather than addressing the failure. That speaks volumes about how they operate. A true fine dining establishment respects their customers' time, and owns their mistakes instead of scrubbing feedback. We won't be returning.

The first thing that stood out was the service. There was only one server working the dining room during a busy lunch rush, and you would never have known it. She handled every table with professionalism, confidence, and genuine warmth. She made me feel like I was the only guest in the restaurant, checking on me often without ever making me feel rushed or forgotten. It honestly felt more like being welcomed into someone's home than eating at a restaurant. She deserves a lot of recognition because she absolutely elevated my entire experience. I wish I had gotten her name because she earned every bit of this compliment. For my meal, I ordered king crab legs, snow crab legs, shrimp, and crawfish. I chose to mix all of the seasonings because I thought it would create the biggest flavor. Unfortunately, the food itself was much blander than I expected. The potatoes, corn, shrimp, and especially the king crab legs needed a lot more seasoning. Considering the price of king crab, I was hoping for a much bolder flavor. The snow crab legs were probably the highlight of the seafood. When my server noticed I wasn't completely satisfied, she immediately stepped in to help. She brought me extra garlic butter and additional Old Bay seasoning, and that made a huge difference. She didn't ignore the issue or make excuses--she genuinely wanted me to enjoy my meal, and I really appreciated that. Overall, I'd give the service a perfect 10/10. The food, based on this visit, didn't quite live up to the hype for me, but the menu is huge and there are still plenty of things I'd like to try. Because of how well I was treated, I'll definitely be back and I'll be hoping to get the same server again. Great hospitality can make all the difference, and she absolutely proved that today.

As it turns out, the potatoes are better then the corn. We opted for the popular mix of spices, butter and garlic with lemon. But it doesn't matter since I can't condone the amount of plastic used for one meal: plastic bag for the boil, gloves, bibs, tablecloth. It's just too selfish. But we did enjoy ourselves as BF never had crab before. We still enjoy shrimp more but crab was not over cooked. We just won't be back until that protocol changes.

Cute decor and plenty of seating.

The color looked good on the tacos, but I received a 1/2 sized portion of halibut on each taco. Not a single large one like on the other pictures shown, it was a half portion of halibut for each taco. Roughly about 3 inches in length 2 inches in width for the fried halibut, which was stale and warm. The meat wasn't juicy in the taco either. After I finished my tacos, I saw the table across from us, had ordered a three-piece fish and chips, which was generously loaded with fries and full sized pieces of halibut on the plate, which looked amazing. It was my first time there, so I didn't know what the portion sizes for halibut tacos were supposed to be and it was my first time having halibut so I didn't know what to expect, went there at my friends recommendation. Normally, I check reviews before I go this time I didn't. So I checked on reviews today and saw the halibut fish tacos were supposed to be one large fillet for each taco, so I feel I missed out. I paid $25 for the equivalent of a two piece halibut meal, but only ended up with one piece of halibut on two tacos, which ended up being about $13 a taco, they weren't even that great. If you go, it would be a good idea to confirm with the weight staff if each taco is supposed to get one whole fillet or a half fillet. If it's a half fillet, maybe the Puffin café should adjust their prices accordingly for the tacos. Not a great experience. The place looked really nice and clean, the staff was friendly. Food value and quality not so much.

The menu showed a lot of vegan options. They even had at least 3 vegan desserts and a vegan Thai iced tea. The server came back and took my drink order, I ordered the hot jasmine tea. It was a tea bag in hot water. I couldn't decide what to order. The fresh salad rolls with peanut sauce was not on the menu, but there were so many vegan items that I had a hard time deciding. Finally decided on the red curry. I was asked what spice level, at first I said medium. I was told that their spice tends to run pretty spicy. So I went with mild. I was told I could get chili oil if I needed to spice it up. I'm glad I went with mild, I didn't need the chili oil. The curry had enough flavor, but I felt like it was still lacking something. Since I was dining alone, I usually like to have a book or something to entertain myself. Lacking that, I had my phone with me. But it was an internet dead zone. I couldn't get on the Yelp app to check in. Couldn't play on my other apps. I asked if they had a WiFi code, and sadly they did not.
