We've lived a block or two from here for the past 4 years and we tried them for the first time today. We called for pickup and ordered a meatball parm sub and a BLT Steak and Cheese sub. The food was absolutely delicious! The meatball sub didn't need extra sauce or anything. My significant other kept raving about his sub as well. They're both big enough to eat half now and the other half another time (or later with a good show/movie). The man we spoke to on the phone was very nice and proficient with our order. We've driven by so many times and wondered about this place. It looks small and quaint inside. The chicken wasn't crunchy and it wasn't the dry rub lemon pepper I'm use too. The lemon pepper wings are nothing like the bbq ones. They was crunchy and flavorful but the lemon pepper wings are nothing to brag about. I requested well done and they wasn't so that explains the serving. I came by just before closing to pick up some chicken tenders and pizza. This was only my second time here, but Tomato City came highly recommended by my friends who live in the neighborhood. When placing my order, the young man working the counter had a hard time ringing up my order. It took the owner as long to figure out how to run my credit card as it did to make my food. I think there was something wrong with their system, but they didn't actually tell me what was happening, they only apologized for the wait. They prepared my food and packed it to go. Since it was the end of the night, they gave me the slices they had on the counter as a bonus, which was really nice. Their tenders are more like chicken cutlets and they were very saucy (which is my preference) I couldn't decided between blue cheese and ranch, so I paid extra so I could get one of each. The pizza was thick and sort of greasy but it tasted good. The cheese blend is different that other pizza places and the sauce has a real tomato-y bite. While it's not making my top 5 list anytime soon, I wasn't mad at any part of the food. The building is an odd shape because it sits on the corner of a triangular shaped block. Doughy, cheesy, chewy pizza. If you like this kind you'll enjoy it. I love all pizza and don't discriminate. I really like their pepperoni but hear good things about the buffalo chicken so I'll need to make another trip to try. The place is an odd shape with no seating so plan to take food to go. Ok, at this rate with the amount of times I've ordered here through slice I can give an accurate review. Tomato City has the BEST cheese pizza I've ever had. I have search high and low, finally found the holy grail. I also really enjoy their cheese steak sandwich and bakery style pizza. I am NOT a fan of most of their appetizers they don't seem to travel well. By the time they get to my house they're soggy. The tenders have great flavor but also are soggy, which comes with the territory when ordering flavor dipped tenders. Can you guess the common theme... the calzones are also soggy. A month ago I would have given three stars, but I ordered again and was much more pleased with my meal. This past time I got a pepperoni pizza. I think technically it said it was with extra cheese and pepperoni (some of these delivery apps suck man - I find sometimes there is the option for a cheese pizza but then you can't add toppings and there isn't just a pepperoni pizza?!?!) So yeah, I got the one that was just pepperoni and cheese on the app i was using. I also was feeling indecisive so I ordered some buffaque wings. Both were excellent! Way better than the last time I ordered from them. Now I see on slice where to add toppings. Oh well. The pizza has a great sauce, it's not thin and its generously applied. The one I got didn't seem to have extra pepperoni on it, but I wasn't originally looking for that so I was happy with what I got. A medium was great for dinner, a slice for breakfast, and then lunch the next day. What can I say, it's winter during a pandemic and I had a weekend to myself with snow in the forecast - Pizza became three meals, The wings were also excellent - a great mix of barbecue and buffalo. Not too sweet, not too hot. I had remembered loving them from when my sister used to live in NP and they had a different owner. When I tried them in the fall they were okkkkk but not as I remembered. Living in North Providence- this is my go-to pizza place. The wings are also incredible- always fresh and hefty- certainly not sad frozen chicken! The cotton candy sauce is my favorite. OMG - they have the BEST steak bomb I've ever had in my life - a must have and they also have the BEST cheese/pepperoni spinach pies as well!!! As a native NYC pizza lover - I'm must say Tomato City has some really decent pizza. I usually have to tell the pizza maker "well done". But not at Tomato City - their crust is well done, thin and crispy. Their sauce is generously sweet and toppings are well applied. Their pizza is somewhat greasy - but hey that's what a napkin is for. Their dining area is not impressive - it's actually un-inviting. If you make a decision based on this - you'd walk out. But back to the pizza - it's simply a piece of delightful, greasy work of art that will bring joy to your taste buds. Oh and their garlic knots - be sure to add an order of those. The pricing is slightly higher than others, but from time to time, it's worth it for the convenience. The menu is huge and has some pretty creative specialty pizzas, which is cool. I ordered the Italian Classic #3, which has meatball and ricotta. Super tasty -- I didn't even have to ask for a well done crust like I normally do. Came upon Tomato City while searching for lunch at work. If you are from around here you are well aquainted with the pizza strips sold in the local bakeries. A rectangular strip of dough with only red sauce no cheese. As a quick bite on the run it does the job. Well Tomato City has a whole round or rectangular pie that captures the flavor of these bakery strips perfectly. I went with a large round "bakery" pizza some wings and a salad. The chicken wasn't even completely covered in buffalo sauce, and the pieces were rather small and thin... and just not even that good. I selected the "hot" option, and they were not spicy AT ALL. They weren't "crispy" like the menu claims. I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars! I ordered mozzarella sticks and chili Thai wings. These are the mozzarella sticks I received. When I called back they sent out another batch of sticks that were cooked golden brown but they still didn't look right. I sent both orders back with the drivers and called them back for a refund just on the sticks. I was told I had to go through Grubhub.
