I bought a truck from my hometown and made an appointment with Tom Light Chevrolet because I am a student here in College Station and heard somewhat good things about them. My pickup was having screen issues and had an open recall on it so I brought it in after talking with the receptionist that was very nice. I have never brought a truck in to a dealership for maintenance nor a recall so I was expecting for someone to dumb it down for me. I'm not stupid, I just need it to be explained because I've never done it before. However, I was greeted poorly from the get-go by a guy named Cole, and felt stupid the whole time I followed him around telling him what I was bringing my truck in for. He made me feel like the issues with my truck were my fault and it made me get defensive. I wasn't planning to come in upset about my truck because I thought I was in good hands, but this interaction with said guy made me realize that I paid a lot of money for a new truck only to be treated like it's my fault that it's having issues. I asked a lot of questions and received mediocre answers that weren't really answers at all. Every response was vague and indirect. I left with a bunch of maybe's and I don't knows, instead of 'I'm not quite sure, sir but we'll figure it out and keep you updated, no worries'. Something along those lines, it's not that hard to be nice to people. I explained one issue in particular to Mr. Cole about my screen having a black rectangle glitch where it shouldn't be. His response was almost comical. He told me that GMC engineers put it there on purpose for looks. I mean, come on. You can't be serious. It's an ugly glitch that shouldn't be there. There is nothing attractive about that black rectangle in the middle of the screen and I find it hard to believe that engineers put it there thinking it would increase the attraction of the vehicle. These kind of responses are what drove me up the wall during my visit. The glitch was not fixed and there is still a black square on my touch screen. I contacted my dealership at home and will be driving it 4 hours to have it fixed properly. This is an inconvenience for me and I expected better as a 8-year customer. I hate typing up stuff like this because I believe you treat people the way you want to be treated. Now, I don't know if Mr. Cole was having a bad day, but I suggest being a little more careful and attentive to customer needs because although I can forgive this dealership, today I am very displeased. read more

This was by far the most pleasant experience my wife and I have ever had purchasing a new vehicle. The team of Clint Barnard, our salesperson, Bubba, the sales manager and James Gibbs, in the finance department, did an outstanding job. I have never purchased a new car where I didn't feel like I was in a constant battle with the sales team and then have to gear up and battle with the finance person who was trying to sell me stuff I didn't want nor need....until my recent experience at Tom Light Chevrolet. I live over two hours away from this dealership, and I wasn't looking to purchase a new truck, but the sales team made me an offer I couldn't refuse on a new 2016 Silverado LT Texas Edition. The price was negotiated over the phone and when we arrived, it didn't take long to get into the finance office. My wife had been checking out extended warranties prior to us purchasing the Chevy as she had recently purchased a used VW CCR. She was amazed at the prices we were offered and not only did we purchase the Chevy extended warranty for my Silverado, she purchased one for her vehicle as well. James did an outstanding job of explaining what was available to us, but he did a good job of knowing when to back off when we weren't interested in something he was trying to sell us. After all the paperwork was taken care of, Clint Barnard went over the vehicle with us and made sure we understood what the truck had and where everything was located in very simple terms until he felt comfortable. I also forgot to mention, that the truck did not have a bedliner in it, but the dealership got it installed between the time we made the deal over the phone and the time I arrived at the dealership to pick it up, which was about 5 hours. The overall experience of buying a vehicle at Tom Light Chevrolet was outstanding and I will definitely recommend them to others. It was worth the drive!! read more

Oh goodness! Where do I even begin? Should I start with the fact that I was sold a car with no spare tire? Or that I was lied to about my interest rate? Or should I say how when I tried to get my key fob fixed they couldn't help me? What about when the service dept called me and said that I needed to bring my car in to get the recalled parts replaced? Then when I took it in at 830am last Saturday 07/15 they made me leave it there until 1230pm just to tell me that they didn't even have the parts ordered! When I asked at 12pm that day if it was almost finished, Karen told me it would be 1pm before it was finished. Then I asked if I could just take it she said not yet because it was being worked on. I asked if they had even started on it and she went to "check" and said yes. So I left. Immediately after leaving I got a call from her saying they had not even started working on it because they didn't have the parts! My whole morning WASTED because of Tom Light. When I talked to a "manager" they rushed me out of the lobby because they didn't want the current customers hearing me tell them how rude it was that they did that to me! Karen was apologetic but still lied to me. To be fair, she was the only one there that day which goes to show how they even treat their employees! Never again will Tom Light Chevrolet get my money! Never again. read more

Alex A. was my salesman and it was an incredible first experience purchasing my first vehicle ever. Just before I made an decision to go to Tom Light Chevrolet, I was at another dealership looking forward purchasing a used 2014 Chevy Impala, But unfortunately the vehicle was sold and afterwards I sought out to look for the vehicle I wanted. So I turned my interests to go to Tom Light Chevrolet to find the odds of another affordable used 2014 Chevy Impala. When my family and I made our arrival to the dealership we were gladly welcomed by Alex Aguilar and almost instantly he made an great first impression to the family. I was impressed by the service even after figuring out the odds of finding the Impala wasn't in my favor but to only have Alex there by my family and I to help to find the vehicle that suits us well. It wasn't long enough until we did found the vehicle that was VERY suitable to our interest a 2014 Toyota Corolla S. After a long week on my part getting together I needed to purchase the vehicle and FINALLY I've purchased the 2014 Toyota Corolla S. Not a Chevy, but different is good I'll just leave the Impala as my dream vehicle to purchase in the future but when the time comes I certainly look forward in making business with Alex Aguilar at Tom Light Chevrolet! read more

I had a great experience at the dealership. The sales representative, Christopher Lewis Terrell, made sure that we were comfortable during the whole car shopping experience, that I had imagined would be a tedious task. We were greeted as soon as we set foot on the premises. Also, Clint Bernard made sure that I knew everything that I was committing my self to, which I enjoyed. Over all the staff was very friendly, patient, and helpful. As of now, they have made sure to keep in touch to make sure everything is running smoothly in regards to the car and also our decision of purchasing the car. I will definitely recommend any Chevrolet vehicle to family and friends but I will also recommend Tom Light Chevrolet in Bryan/College Station to any one I (and make sure they get in touch with Christopher Terrell). read more

Months ago, we were just looking at options to buy and we formed a relationship with Chris Terrell. Chris did a great job of keeping us informed of inventory status and current deals at Tom Light Chevrolet without being pushy. Once we were ready to buy, Chris had the perfect vehicle picked out and we were signing paperwork a short time later. There was a slight bit of confusion regarding our trade-in value, but Tom Light Chevy stood by us, ruled in our favor so-to-speak, and earned our business for life. This is the first time in my 20 years of buying/leasing cars that I've left the dealership without the slightest tinge of regret or buyer's remorse! Thanks! read more

I just got my 1st Chevy in about 20 years, have been a Ford person. I wanted a 2011 Tahoe and after checking with two other dealers, I came to Bubba and Brad at Tom Light. I really wanted a specific color, Ice Blue, and they were able to find it when the others could not. Bubba did not question why a woman would want 4 wheel drive, like the other two did. He also got me a beefier vehicle than what I had originally had in mind, for the same payments. Picked it up on Friday, now it is Monday and we have already put 500 miles on it! I love it, the most beautiful vehicle I have ever owned, next to my 55 Chevy! Bubba and Brad ROCK! Thanks, guys! read more

I brought in a Chevy Cruze which I love. When I started shopping for my new car I went to several dealerships and was dissapointed with their sales techniques and how pushy they were. I decided to go to Tom Light because I had purchased there before and was very satisfied then. Larry helped me out with looking first at what kind of vehicle needs I had and then what would be the be finacial option for me. It was very easy and no pressure at all. The time I spent felt very comfortable and I will not shop around at all next time. I know that Tom Light will take care of me like I am family. read more

The people are nice here, but they have no customer service to follow up with the work they do. You drop off your truck to get worked on, they say they'll call you back at lunch with a status and never do. You call at 2pm and they are "not available" and in the shop. Still no call by 5pm. Two days later my truck was finally ready. Going to Sterling next time. Disappointing-and this was the 3rd chance i gave this company. Be prepared if you take your car into them. It could take forever and don't expect a call back. read more

I recently bought a 2010 Mazda 3 from Tom Light. Jerry Nance was my salesman, he was amazing! I described to Jerry what I was looking for in a new car, and he took me right to the one I ended up buying! I would absolutely recommend Tom Light to my family and friends! I bought a 2011 Equinox from Larry at Tom Light and I was extremely grateful for his expertise on the vehicle. New cars are full of so many bangs and whistles that sometimes its difficult to figure out how to turn on the radio! Larry was patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful with every question I had. I'll do business with Tom Light again and I'll be asking for Larry! read more

Bought a new 2011 Chevy Cruz from Jerry. This man worked very hard to get me in the car I wanted. Jerry took me for a very informative demonstration ride while pointing out the car's attributes. I made more than one trip to ask questions and talk to Jerry about the car. Jerry was always very patient and polite - I appreciate that. read more

Bought a new 2010 Equinox. Bubba and Jerry are great, got a good deal and they take care of me if i come in last minute to get oil changes. I didn't think i could get the LT but Jerry worked me down to a decent payment. The Equinox is a little under powered but it makes up for it in gas mileage. average 35 mpg on the highway. read more

I purchased a used truck from Tom Light Chevrolet and all I can say is I am totally satisfied and I would buy another vehicle from them in the future. I worked with Goeff Lee to find my truck and he was able to show me a great used truck at a great price. I was happy I made the drive from Houston - it was well worth the trip. read more

Fat guy with beard working in the auto repair section was rude as hell. Went there because I needed a recall fixed on my truck. The guy was very unprofessional and disrespectful! I will never do business with this dealership again and would advise anyone else from doing so! read more
