Thought I needed a bunch of stuff done but it turned out a loose battery terminal was the only fixed need to get the truck to start. I never give ratings but I've never received such horrible customer service. Just be aware if you go here, they dont have the best communication skills and they are always upset about something. I never saw one smile while I was there and they actually asked me and my 2 year old son to leave the AC office and stand in the heat so they could take their lunch for 1 1/2 hrs. They also don't really like to work with there customers from my experienc, I needed them to hold on a project due to some important matters and it pissed them off they proceeded to try to up-charge me and cuss me out. Then they would not warranty their work. Then quite vulgarly told me to find someone else. Terrible business ownership and customer service. Not a good experience with these guys, they kinda did they're job but broke a bunch and charged me for the damage. I brought my truck (1974 Chevrolet Blazer) in to get a water pump replaced. They had the truck for about a week. When I called them for an update, they said they were going to replace the belts, asking for a high price. Even though the belts were fine I told them to do it in fear that they would break something. After I picked the truck up and paid $500 for the repairs, the pulley cracked in half...on the drive from the shop. Upon further inspection the belts hadn't been replaced either. I talked to the shop the following morning. They apologized and said they would fix the issue and refund me the money for the belts after everything had been fixed. Because the car was damaged, I couldn't drive it. So the shop towed my truck back to the shop. But since my trucks a four wheel drive, I was concerned about towing the truck unless it was on a flatbed. I was assured that they would tow it on a flatbed. They picked the truck up while I was away. I got a photograph from my roommate showing that my truck was being towed, not on a flat bed, and with the front tires rolling on the ground. They had the truck for two weeks to fix the problem. And all they did was replace the pulley with one from a junkyard that is in considerably bad shape, they didn't even bother to clean it up. There is lots of surface rust and it will probably go out in a year. When I came to pick up the truck again, I asked about the refund on the belts and assumed that the pulley wouldn't be charged since it broke on the drive home and was perfectly fine before I dropped the truck off. I was informed that I would not be refunded my money for the belts and I was charged $85 for the worn out pulley. I paid them and left. When I got home I noticed the brake lights were not working, my brakes are squealing a lot more than they did before, and the belts weren't properly tightened. I would not recommend this shop to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable repair. read more

I came here based on Yelp Reviews. My A/C had been out for a month. With that being said, I am extremely tight on money. I came here on April 4, 2012 and am very dissatisfied. Initially, I thought they would diagnose the A/C by putting dye into it and seeing if there was a leak coming from somewhere. Instead, I paid 140 dollars for them to put freon in for the A/C to have it stopped blowing cold air today. Now, I have to bring the car into Midas touch. Ever get a good feeling when you go to a new mechanic? Yeh, me neither. But not here. I called to inquire about an oil change and the guy was quite honest about price and time. It wasn't the cheapest place (58 for synthetic on my 2012 Mazda) but he got me right in and was friendly. I just left the shop, so I'll change my review if oil starts pouring out, but she's purring for now. Oh, and speaking of purring.... They have a shop cat named Killer and she is adorable. It's awesome watching 3 grown men laugh at a kitten playing with the toy I got for it down at the thrift store up the street. If that doesn't say something about what kind of establishment this is, I don't know what does! read more

We had come to College Station with my family from Austin to drop off our kids on a Sunday. Our car wouldn't start and we got stuck overnight. Early Monday morning, I went to Stratta Auto Repair ((SAR) and met Phil over there and talked about the problem. He was very courteous and advised me to tow my car over to his shop to check what had happened. I used my insurance to get the car towed to SAR. After an hour, I got a call from Phil saying, "Sir, there is nothing wrong with the car. The battery cables were loose and I tighten them and it's working. You can take the car and you don't owe me anything." I was exited to hear this expecting earlier that I could receive a few hundred dollar quote to fix the car. I said, "I still owe you a detailed review on Yelp" Before driving the car back from his parking lot, he even showed me where the fault was. I drove happily, thanking him and praising his honesty. I decided to use Stratta after reading Yelp reviews. With a 5 star rating, it was a no brainer, and after my experience I have to also give them 5 stars. My brakes were acting a little strange so I went by without an appointment and the guys looked at it right away. They took it for two test drives, removed all the wheels to look at the brakes and brake pads, and sanded the rear pads on both sides. They took the time to explain to me everything they had done. Called Stratta to ask about a good time to come in for an oil change, they told me to come in one hour. When I get there they say they don't keep any oil filters around so they had to go get one. Forty minutes later the guy gets there with what turns out to be the wrong filter for our car, so he takes another 10-15 minutes to go back to get another one. On top of all that, it was a ripoff! $49 for a oil change! Will not go here again. read more

I decided to try Stratta after reading the yelp reviews. I was in need of a brake job. Almost everyone I talked to said to definitely avoid Just Brakes! Phil Stratta was very professional and got me in that morning and by afternoon he replaced the rotors and brake pads and I was out of there! He showed me where the pads wore down and cut a groove into the rotor, so I know he wasn't trying to up-sell me like Just Brakes would of! Good work at a very good price! Long story short: paid the $80 hourly rate + $8.50 misc. fees only to have the job finished in less than 30 minutes, but the job was NOT done correctly; settings were changed and the mechanic was not willing to fix it back to its original setting as he said "this is how your car's feature works"..... like I don't know how my own car works for these past 8 years read more

They ran a quick test, ordered my part and fixed it for the price they quoted me just under $800 for a 2008 Toyota Prius. Recommended. Good service and nice mechanic. I replaced my radiator here 2 months ago, but I found out a small crack around radiator cap recently. I was lucky to see this crack early enough and did not end up more serious overheat problem. They replaced a new radiator immediately without any charge.
