Dan, the owner, provided diagnosis costs, parts and labor costs once the problem was known, and called me each step of the process for the go ahead. I dropped off my truck right at 7:30 A.M. and picked it up that same day around 3:30 P.M. Dan let me know that the power steering issue was fixed and also informed me that due to the leak that the power steering pump received extra wear due to the lack of fluid within the tank. Rather than replace the pump and add that cost into the repairs, Dan informed me that at some point the pump would need to be replaced. Dan will find the problem with your vehicle and fix it as quickly as he can for a good price. He does not try and cheat you in any way to get more money. I have been going to Pete's Auto Care since I moved to College Station for my freshman year. My car…read moreis the epitome of a typical college car. I drive a 2006 Ford Mustang and I swear I have problems almost every month. I trust Pete and his employees because they never overcharge or lie for more profit even though I'm extremely uneducated about anything car related lol. For instance, last month I took my car in to get my brakes and rotors replaced. They told me that I could wait a solid few months before changing them, but they definitely were going to need replacing. Other auto shops would replace them without mentioning that I could wait before spending a couple hundred. I respect their honesty! Last night, I was driving on the highway and I had to exit quickly because one of my dashboard lights lit up. My car was overheating and white smoke was coming out of the hood. I called Pete and without hesitation he towed it this morning and I picked it up this afternoon. If it wasn't for his wonderful and quick service, I really think I may have been shopping for a new car this weekend. The towing was reasonably priced at all $55 to tow my car from College Station to Bryan. I had to get my car towed earlier this year to his shop because I had two tires blow out and he was able to tow it for $55 dollars as well so I'm assuming that is his standard towing price. Needless to say, I recommend Pete's Auto Care and I would not trust my car with anyone else! Pete is such a great person as well and I always find myself having a conversation with him while I'm in the shop. Last semester my car battery died and Pete came to my complex and he jumped the car himself because my jumping cables were faulty. I had them repair my 1897 Chevrolet pickup truck, and it was breathtakingly expensive. They charge a diagnostic fee, but they don't include that fee with the work when you approve to have the task done. The diagnostic fee is charged on top of the repair charges. For example, I asked them to recharge the AC system. I was okay with the $216 diagnostic charge. But then they charged me another $600 to do the repair. They put in new refrigerant, added dye, and tested for leaks in the system. The labor rate was $240 per hour. I still can't believe that I had to pay over $800 for a simple AC recharge job. This was not all, but the other task I had them do was similarly expensive. When I complained about the labor rate, they told me that their rates are competitive with other repair shops in Bryan TX. According to Google AI, the prevailing labor rates for automotive repair in Bryan typically ranges between $105 and $160 per hour at independent auto shops, and the Texas average is $141 - $154 per hour. I'm sure that the age of my vehicle justifies a higher rate, but let's be reasonable. I'm not saying that they did not disclose the costs of the repairs. I agreed to them. But I did not have much choice. My vehicle was not running well enough to drive, and I would have had to find a new place and get it towed there for additional cost to me. I would have lost my diagnostic costs. They had me over a barrel, and I think they took advantage of my situation. To be fair, they were friendly, competent, and willing to work on my older vehicle. I have every reason to believe that they did a good job on the repairs. But the labor rate of $240 per hour adds up in a hurry. If you use their services, be prepared to pay a huge bill.

The reviews for that business was 4.5 stars. Well needless to say this supposedly reputable business turned out to be nothing more than the usual auto repair hustlers. They wanted to charge more than a dealership to repair the car. When I called them out on it, of course the hustlers came up with we have to take the motor out to replace a starter. I even offered to pay them what the dealership had quoted me. They declined the offer. I then contacted Pickups Plus and spoke to Blake. I told him the situation with the car, told him I was out of state and needed a quote to replace the starter. Blake's quote came back $100 under the dealership and $155 under the hustlers. I had the car picked up from Sevcik's Service Center 2200 Longmire Drive College Station, TX 77845 and towed to Pickups Plus. Blake had my daughters car up and running a few hours later. Thanks Blake for your honesty and professional service. By the way the hustlers at Sevcik's called back and said the quote contained an error and they would do the work for the same price as the dealership. Yea right
