Friendly, courteous, affable, Rodrigo is there to help you buy a car, not sell you a car. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the sales people there, but if I were you I'd ask for him! Four hours start to finish, a lot of that time waiting for responses from blenders. They were thorough, and in the end I am thoroughly satisfied with the result of their efforts. The business is fairly easy to get to. It's accessible off the slip road but only from one direction. Exits aren't too far away if you pass it up and have to try again. Their service department are scammers. I took my car in a while back because my engine was misfiring. They told me it was a bad fuel injector and "fixed" it for me. Soon after getting my car back, it started misfiring again. I took it back and they said it was a different fuel injector and replaced that one for me. AGAIN, my car started misfiring and AGAIN they told me it was a fuel injector. I asked them if their work was on warranty because I had already paid for my car to be fixed twice and it still isn't fixed. I was told no because it's a different fuel injector than the ones they've replaced. I refused their service and decided to check the spark plugs myself. In an afternoon I found the cracked spark plug and replaced it myself. My car has not misfired since. To clarify: I am NOT a mechanic, these people are really just that incompetent. I wasted hundreds of dollars just for them to not fix my car. read more

But here we are. Feb 2020 we purchased a brand new Chevrolet Traverse. Almost exactly a month ago, I dropped my car off at our local Chevrolet dealership for my first free oil change. The baby and I hung out with my best friend for a few hours until car was ready. She drops me back off at dealership, I load up baby into his car seat, circle about a mile to the Stripes off of Earl Rudder Fwy. Long story short saw smoke coming from engine , yanked his infant car seat from car, threw gas nozzle back into holder and called FD as I ran from car. I turn around and look to see flames near engine. What the actual heck???? It's BRAND NEW YALL. *Fire report says it looks like someone didn't put oil cap back on after oil change. Even if that's not it, coincidence that my suv CAUGHT FIRE after oil change???? Who knows. *Tom Light called right when we got home and said cap WAS on when we got to dealership. They said had to be faulty GM part (of course). Again, who knows. We have pictures after fire and cap was DEFINITELY not. *Luckily I needed gas. I'm lazy as heck about getting gas, and was below E after oil change. I was supposed to get on highway to see My husband for lunch- would've been a way worse situation. There aren't any fire extinguishers on side of highway *we did discuss fighting for a settlement but as no one was physically hurt...we just wanted the car totaled and a good deal on a new car. Well, Tom Light says ''service has nothing to do with sales'' apparently. So, we didn't purchase from Tom Light again. I have been very pleased with the service managers in my past interactions with Tom Light in regards to working the issue I have with the vehicle. I have given outstanding reviews on prior GM surveys after my vehicle service. There have been many since I purchased the vehicle all revolving around the same issue which has yet to be remedied. However, this last visit felt like I was being given the run-around and they did not want to bother diagnosing the same issue that keeps returning. Tom Light has said they fixed the issue three times prior to this visit but it continues to return. I was told by the service manager he personally drove the truck and they could not work on the truck anymore as warranty even though it is the same issue I have had since the truck was new and have been getting service on while in warranty period. His determination was not based on equipment or inspection or mechanics input but simply his opinion. He did not provide any information that the truck was inspected by a mechanic. According to the service ticket the odometer moved 9 miles... it is not possible to diagnose the problem I have with only driving the vehicle 9 miles. I was unaware that the service managers were certified GM technicians... if this is the case then please let me know. I have yet to be convinced the issue is not a safety concern as well. With it appearing at highway speeds there is no assurance that it is not affecting the vehicle performance and stability. I have asked service managers multiple times about this concern with it being shrugged off as not an issue but no concrete reasoning behind the response. I am not sure if Tom Light is willing to take this liability if something were to happen. I am very disappointed with the service I was given and the way GM is handling the issue. I took my truck to Tom Light Chevrolet a few weeks ago after it had been stolen and sustained minor damages. The service department had it for 4 days before they finally got a diagnosis on what needed to be fixed. They then tried to tell me I needed a new tire and rim covers that totaled up to $380. All four rim covers were in the back seat and after I went somewhere else and put the old tire on the tire was just fine, I have driven over 1000 miles since then and the tire has been fine. I have never been more disapointed and discussed by a lack of service and professionalism in my life. They basically tried to lie and steal from me to make a few extra dollars. I'm a college student at TAMU and needed an oil change for my car. I only went here because my first oil change would be free from any Chevy dealership since I purchased the car brand new. The lady at the service repair front desk was very rude. I came in last week on a Friday afternoon and she told me I needed to schedule an appointment and had a bad attitude. Come the day of my appointment her bad attitude had still not left. Granted, I do look very young for my age (21), but that should not serve as justification to treat people like they're incompetent. Last week, I decided to go look at the new Camaros. They're supposedly amazing cars, per multiple auto reviews and magazines. I am 24, a young professional, and I currently drive a car that is similar in cost to a new Camaro. It took me 10 minutes of walking around the lot and the showroom to get help, only to be offered help after making eye contact with a salesperson, who reluctantly got out of his seat and took me to look at the Camaros. Keep in mind, I was not buying that day unless they were to take me into the office and make me some outstanding deal. I asked to drive a Camaro, and the salesman flat-out refused, saying he would need to do a CREDIT CHECK just to even test drive the car. I pointed at my car, which I bought new 4 months ago, and said "that should be credit check enough." The salesman (I wish I would've gotten his name) said no, we couldn't drive one then. Needless to say, I will not be looking to purchase a new Camaro from Tom Light Chevolet. I don't appreciate being profiled as a "young kid who wants to joy ride," and I certainly value my credit more than letting some small town car dealership ruin it with inquiries that are not necessary whatsoever. It's a Camaro, not a special-ordered Z06. If Tom Light values their business, then they'll discourage these types of tactics. Shameful. read more

AggieLand Chevrolet service department very incompetent, very unreliable and people working there that just don't care what they're doing. I had a radio problem back in October 2021 took it in to see what was wrong they said the radio. I had extended warranty they ordered one and replaced it. I think in November 22021 three weeks later it was doing exact same thing. So much for a new radio. Took it back in April of this year 2022 the guy said oh it's the screen not the radio now here's where the incompetence comes in. He said he would have to order me a new screen plus he didn't call me and tell me my truck was ready until 4:45 pm and the shuttle driver has went home so I had to take Uber to go get my truck. I waited about almost 2 months hadn't heard from so I called down there and the lady said well the screen still hasn't come in I said OK. I called down there today June 21, 2022 they lady says we have no record of you being here except in November. I went through this spiel even got the service manager and he told me we have no record of you last time was November. So AggieLand Chevrolet is no better or maybe even worse than Tom light. Terrible terrible terrible! I went from a bad radio to a replacement radio that was bad after two weeks doing the same thing as the first radio started and then they said oh it's the screen. I took my 2006 HHR in to fix drivers side door interior handle broken and will not open from out side. Was quoted about $250.00 to fix, then got a call that it would need a new part and would now be about $450.00 and I approved that charge. Only to not get another call 3 days later I called and they didn't get it fixed yet and it will be done next day. Next day I did not get a call so at the end of the day I called again, this time I am told they could not fix it and I could pick up my car the next day. When I picked up my car they charged me $40.00 for not fixing my car that they had for 4 days and left parts on my floor board that I gave to another mechanic to fix for me and the new mechanic is not even a chevy service center. My son has been talking to this dealership for six weeks trying to buy a truck. We were told the "rules" were first come first serve but that if we could prove we were on the road that they would hold the truck for us until we got there. they don't break the rules for anyone. You can't put down a deposit etc. We were good with all that. The truck is scheduled per GM to arrive on 11/6. Today we get a call that says they can no longer sell the truck to us because an "employee" wants to buy the truck. I called to ask to talk to the owner as I wanted to be clear that they were prioritizing employees over customers. I got a call back from a Mr. Dickson who said "we take care of our employees first". He said I don't know how you do business and I responded that I take care of customers first. He said that was my problem that they are a family owned business and prioritize employees over customers. Want to know the employee buying the car...yep Mr. Dickson. Amazing how I ask to speak to the owner about the fact that an employee is buying the car out from under a customer and the employee buying the car calls me. I asked him to have the owner call me. I show up and find a big (14" diameter) dent on it. Pictures didn't reflect the damage, and wasn't disclosed to me up front over the phone. Giant waste of time. They were closing for the day but the gentlemen went ahead and waited for me. He went and retrieved my truck from their gated area so I could take my truck instead of waiting till the next day. As far as assistance at the dealership goes, it is pretty good. Nice salesmen and overall a good car buying experience. BUT and I cannot stress this enough, if you purchase a used car there MAKE SURE TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC FIRST TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT! I have not even received the plates for my truck yet and it has been in the shop twice. It has been there more than my time actually driving it. First round of repairs costing $700.00 then this next series of repairs are estimated at $3250.00. This is the reason I will be contacting the finance company to start the process of a voluntary repossession. While it pains me to take a hit like that on my credit, the combination of car payment, mixed with the amount of repairs I am already paying on and the insurance, it was a gamble that did not work out. If they can work out their inspection of used cars they receive so this does not happen to anyone else I will increase my rating, but until then, I will only give 2 stars. Additionally, all the issues found on the truck should have been easily noticeable for their inspection department. read more

My wife was looking for a 4WD Tahoe, fully loaded, so I reached out to their sales department online. I did the same for several other dealerships in the area. I found the Houston dealership had the best selection and prices, so we decided to purchase from them. A few days later I get this awful email from their sales guy. He tells me in the email how frustrated he is with me that I haven't emailed or called him back. Also, their service department royally sucks. When you walk through the door they look at you with disappointment - it's like they're upset they have to do something. Do yourself a favor. Take your vehicle to Navasota or Caldwell for service, and purchase a vehicle elsewhere. This place has gone so far down the toilet it's a miracle they're still open for business. read more

I also very much enjoyed my experience with James, in finance. He is the first finance guy who treated me with respect and care when working with him. He gave me an amazing deal on my warranties and worked very hard to get me an good interested rate. I bought a user car here, and according to the car fax report they had done most of the maintenance on the vehicle for the previous owner. I buy the car only to find out it has a faulty brake system and a leaking heater coil, which they did not disclose. they don't return phone calls and when we finally got to talk to the GM, he basically said "too bad, we don't plan to do anything." DO NOT USE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I took in my 2013 chevrolet equinox to have the oil changed and have the check engine light checked. They checked it out and apparently the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. They say my car is safe to drive so I could have it back but I was informed that the parts would have to be ordered for the catalytic converter and that they would give me a call in a little over a week to have it changed out when the parts came in. Two weeks and four days later I hear nothing from them so I give them a call to check the situation. I get the same guy I had during the first run who checks the service report and notices that somethings wrong and proceeds to tell me that he will call me back because he has to talk to the parts department about the error. Closing time rolls past and I have not heard back from him about the situation. Another two weeks pass before I hear anything from them and when they do they finally have the parts to fix my car. After the winter freeze I finally make an appointment. The service department opens at 8:00 A.M. I take my car over at roughly 8:35 A.M. to have the parts changed and ask when it should be ready, the same guy from the first two rounds replies that it should be ready around mid-afternoon. So I head home and 3:30 P.M. rolls past nothing, 4:00 P.M. getting a little worried by now no calls, 4:30 P.M. nothing from Tom Light Chevrolet, I wait until 4:45 pm roughly and I decide to give them a call to check on the status of my car because I need it to get to work tomorrow at 6 A.M.. So I call them I get the exact same guy as all three times and here's the kicker according to him my car is not ready for pick up it won't be ready until tomorrow morning. I ask why, his reply that the mechanics got backed up and could not get to my car today. So I say thanks and hang up Its roughly 5:00 P.M.. Tom Light Chevrolet service department closes at 6:00 P.M.. Now, I can understand that dealership certified repair shops are busy and might not get back to you about your pending car part orders within said time frame exactly they go through hundreds of customers. They might not fix your car in the same day that you drop it off because they have a lot of service repairs that day or give you a loaner because of policy or lack of cars. BUT to NOT have the common decency to AT LEAST call the customer to let them know that they won't get their car back according to a previously stated time frame and provide them with options of transport at least two hours before closing time is unacceptable. I was fortunate enough that the upper management was able to help solve some issues and I have transport for the next day. But I can assure you three things: if I could have given them zero stars for this review I would have, I would not recommend using their services (my opinion you make your own decisions on whether to risk it or not), and I will not be going back to use their services ever again after retrieving my car. read more

Do NOT Use this Tom Light Chevrolet service center!!!!! I took my 2009 Chevy Tahoe to them because i was having a problem with something draining my battery. I told them its possible that my fuel pump is continuing to run all day long. So they come back and tell me that the problem was fuel control module and i needed another battery When i pick truck up I notice that they hadn't hooked some of my stuff back up. My music wasn't playing and the battery bracketed was sitting inside my truck. So the next day i took my truck back to them because I could still here the fuel pump running and my music was not working anymore. When I went to go back and pick my truck up it was dead and to be jump started. In this process of them working on my truck I replaced the battery. Long story short they didn't fix nothing and charge me $380 for nothing. I had to take my truck else where cause they came up with all the damn excuses in the world. Not only did he find a way to get the EXACT Tahoe I wanted which apparently was very uncommon to get the color choice and specific options but I left and he called me by the end of the day and had one located. He promised to have it within 72 hours and ended up surprising my wife and I by having it within 24 hours. He called said its detailed and had filled it with gas. Recently, (10/15/2012), I took in my 98 Chevy Venture Van in to have them figure out what is wrong with my driver side window, shifter cable, a/c, and the brakes. I made sure the service guy knew that I was wanting to know what was wrong with it and how much it would cost because I was selling the van to my brother and wanted to do my brother right with fixing the few issues it had before I sold it to him. The guy called me back a few days later telling me it would cost 4000+ to fix the items. I asked the specifics and got that they needed to replace the enitre window assembly, the whole a/c, etc. When I tried to ask what exactly was wrong he gave me vague answers. I told him no to the changes and said I come by and pick it up. When we got there my wife was going to drive it back while following me home. I began to leave when she started to honk the horn to get my attention. I headed back over to find her in near tears because the driver side window just about fell (far worse then what it was when we took it in) and there was a sales rep talking to her through the window stating (well when its time its time. You could look at these new cars we have here) I basically have to ask the service manager to get the sales rep away from my wife because he wouldn't leave (at this point she is completely crying) Once that was resolved, the service manager told me he'd have the guys who worked on the van to put the window back the way it was, so we left and a few days later he calls back stating it can't be done. I asked why? and he said these things happen, when you work on a older vehicle things can break and it has to be replaced. I asked for my money back and he told me that was not possible. Needless to say I was furious and just told him I'd come by and pick it up and fix it myself. That weekend I took the door panels off to see what was wrong and found that their solution to fixing the window from falling was to bend the regulator around the track instead of putting it back into the track. After taking the door apart and getting the regulator out, i bent the arm back straight and found that the real issue was the main rivet in the center of the regulator was loose causing the two arms to have slack. (the original issue) I went and bought the piece from the store for $35 (they were trying to charge me $900 for the part!?!!!?!?!) Also, when I went to fix the shifter cable I opened the hood of the van to find: - the hood stand heavily bent backwards behind the hood latch; - The A/C valve caps missing; - Several cover flaps and rubber linings (to stop rain from getting in) sitting in the engine hole; - Several wire groupings left out of the rubber tubes that bound them together - The left side of the front grill snaps that hold it on were all broken off All this and probably more I dont know about. If you are reading this please please please do not get them to service your vehicle. This all really did happen and in the end they charged me $200 and a few weekends of headaches and didnt care. I am currently reporting them to the better business bureau. read more

I was told on the phone that I could have my car brought in to have two service items (a bulletin update and a recall from GM) taken care of in addition to my oil change. I get there and was told there are no service items attached to my car according to the GM system and that I needed a "required" fuel flush for a car with 6,000 miles, which coincidentally was not free. I went home and contacted GM directly and was told that the two outstanding bulletins for service were valid and attached to my VIN# and that a fuel flush was not required or even recommended service. read more
