Stopped by Tom & Chee on a Thursday evening after shopping at Kroger as I was happy to see they were finally open nearby home. My carryout order was taken quickly and I went with the pesto turkey I'm a sucker for a good turkey melt and had on the wheatberry bread with a side of the chicken tortilla soup all were delicious as I enjoyed back at home. I will be back for more interested in trying their tots, mac & cheese and more melts. Welcome to Oakley Tom & Chee!

Bacon, fig & goat grilled cheese

How can you not love a good grilled cheese?! When we walked in we were welcomed by the friendliest employees. They were all so nice, and explained the menu and some of their favorite sandwiches. I ordered the bacon, fig and goat grilled cheese. It was delicious and very filling. All the sandwiches are customizable. They also have soups to pair with the sandwiches.

Half of my yummy grilled cheese. I couldn't resist or wait!

The best grilled cheese I've ever had. I will definitely come back real soon. I was really impressed!

It's been maybe 5 years since I've had Tom & Chee. The last location was downtown. When I found out they were opening one in Oakley, I got really excited because it's closer to where I live. They have changed over the years. I don't remember them serving salads. So this a great alternative. The menu is simple which is great, because I get overwhelmed if it's too big. They serve soups, salads and of course melts. You can do a pick combo for $9.99 and/or also build your own melt. Nice options for picky eaters. Easy transaction. You walk up to order, they give you a number and bring it out to you. We got: Pick 2: chicken Asiago club melt and classic tomato soup (My order). Pick 2: Buffalo chicken melt and creamy tomato soup (My Mr.'s order). In less than 15 minutes we got our order and enjoyed every last bite. The melt was just the right size and not messy to eat. My soup was delicious. Simple yet pack a lot of flavor. Great customer service and clean. Also you can download their app and order online for pickup. I am already thinking about coming back next week for lunch and trying their salads.

1/2 a Buffalo chicken melt and a cup of creamy tomato soup. Lunch done right!

It had been a while since I went to a Tom + Chee, but my lady and I were feeling it for lunch one day, so we decided to drop by the newest one in Oakley. Definitely glad we did because it made for a great and inexpensive lunch stop. The menu has changed since we last went but absolutely for the better. The options aren't huge but the variety is great from soups to salads to melts to mac & cheese and tots. They also added a pick 2 for $9.99 if you can't quite decide on just one. There's also a build your own melt if you wanna create it yourself. We both opted for the pick 2 (my lady got the chicken asiago club melt with classic tomato soup and I got the Buffalo chicken melt with creamy tomato soup). We ordered at the counter, they gave us a number, and when the order was ready less than 15 minutes later, they brought it out to us. Everything was excellent! The melts weren't messy and the soups were perfect cold weather comfort food. So glad there's one of these closer to us now. Next time, I may try to build my own melt. My lady and I will absolutely be coming back for another good lunch.

I have never tried this spot and was driving by last night and decided to stop by. They have lots of options, all very interesting. I tried the chicken Asiago and absolutely loved it. Would definitely come back to try more! Staff was very nice and they put a lot of care into prepping our food.

Overrated in my opinion, but that might just be me. The food is not worth the price. Still yummy, just better options available.

Disgusting, rip off of money. It was not edible. The Mac and cheese sandwich was bland and and tots lacked flavor. I feel like I got robbed

I stopped by for a quick lunch during the week and wanted an easy to-go sandwich. They have a medium sized menu but a lot of different options which makes it a bit hard to pick haha! The employees were suppperrrr nice and gave me a lot of time to think about my order. The vibes in there were very cool with fun music and just overall a good time. Now onto the Reuben. Holy cow! It was juicy and very flavorful, with the perfect amount of sauerkraut. The bread was toasty and the sandwich was nice and warm but not too hot. I think this will be a new spot for me for lunch!

Essentially for me I had waited too long to eat and the idea of waiting longer was a non starter for me. Sandwiches are not my go to food outside the house, it seems silly on some level. They also had good, homemade or freshly made sides like potato salad and other salads you could get. It was great.

People are always surprised when they hear that we often drive the almost hour trip from Dayton to…read moreCincinnati for dinner but it's worth it for the treasure trove of independent establishments like The Wheel Oakley! I had heard that their pop-up dinners sell out very quickly so I was ready the day they were posted and grabbed a few spots for one of their February dates. We arrived and were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and then we found a seat at the long community table set for 20; it was so much fun getting to know the people seated next to us! Dinner was delicious! Four courses-the gnocchi with sausage was our favorite dish of the night.

If you follow them on socials, you can score a seat at the pop-ups. The place is an old house with a lot of character. The food for carryout is fantastic and their bread is fantastic. We live in West Chester and have driven down to there a few times just to pick up delicious dinners. We just attended our first dinner there last Tuesday. Oh My Goodness! What a treat. Jordan greeted us with a glass of Prosecco and directed us where to sit a long table that seats 20. We introduced ourselves to our seatmates and then our first dish arrived. Chef does explain the food before we had each dish, however we wished there was more background and history as to how this place came into being. So expect fantastic food without a lot of details. The first dish was a salad made with all local ingredients. It was so fresh and the dressing made with fresh dill was fantastic. The second dish was a ravioli with northern Italian cheese on a bed of butternut squash puree and brown butter. The pasta was SO delicate and the flavors complimented each other so well. The third dish was a 6 hour braised pork shoulder with ricotta gnocchi in a sauce with Calabrian chilis and I don't know what else. We have been to Italy and all the Italian restaurants in Cincinnati and never had anything like this. It was truly phenomenal. Dessert was a apple upside down cake served warm with whipped cream...fantastic. You bring your own wine, and Jordan is on it by never letting your glass get empty, pouring water, and clearing dishes. Service was so great and she is so friendly and accommodating. The cost was a very reasonable $100/pp and SO worth it. There is no menu, so you go in just devouring what Chef has prepared.

But what I remember most of all is the food, particularly ducking into a little shop off a piazza somewhere to grab whatever I could buy and eat while we walked to our next sightseeing destination--a pastry, a slice of pizza, or a sandwich. At Alveo, I almost feel like I'm right back there. The restaurant is small and lively, not a place to linger exactly but a place where you can tell you'll be taken care of. Just as many patrons are ordering to go as they are to stay. And the sandwiches? Good enough to power many, many steps of sightseeing across cobblestones, or just get you through the afternoon at your home or office in Cincinnati. They've absolutely nailed the ingredients on every sandwich I've tried, with high-quality components selected specifically for how they go together. (Like those little sandwich shops in Europe, there are no substitutions here--unless you'd like gluten free bread.) The bread? Unreal how it can hold these constructions together while being soft and delicious. The meats? Perfection. The cheese? Incredible. That pistachio stuff? I see it in my dreams. The one area where Alveo definitely deviates from its European brethren is portion size--these sandwiches are huge! They come in a paper wrapper, inside a to-go box, and believe me, you will probably need it. Each time I've been to Alveo I've ended up eating about half the sandwich for lunch and the rest for dinner, maybe with a snack in between, and felt perfectly satisfied for the day. So, yes, the $20+ price tag might discourage you, but don't let it. It's a $20 investment in a very, very delicious day.

I ordered the lox bagel and wooooow I was impressed and mesmerized. The salmon was fresh and cold, the best combo. Their were red onions, a nice sized tomato slice, capers, and a bit of cream cheese on top. The toppings weren't overwhelming and they paired perfectly together. The onions added a great crunch to the softer sandwich. I also appreciated how little cream cheese they put on because it did not overpower all of the other flavors and added the perfect creaminess. Now for the building and business itself. First of all, it was bussyyy but to be expected for a saturday morning. They were very quick with their orders both online and in-house. The service was nice, fast, and patient with me when I wasn't sure what to order. I have ben itching to go back soon and try something new, maybe this weekend :)
