I was flying out of the area and wanted something quick near my hotel. The menu was a little confusing but I ordered the orange chicken combo. It came out very quickly . It was ready in less than 10 minutes. The inside was a few seats but it appears most people just do take out. The price was good overall for the amount of food I received. The combo is really the way to go for sure. My only complaint is the broccoli was super plain. They don't add any seasoning what so ever to the broccoli. TL:DR - A quintessential college spot where you get large portions for little money, and the taste is just good enough. Spicy teriyaki combo was edible but each item had its own issues. The chicken teriyaki was a bit too charred and sauce was a bit too sweet. The "spicy" part of it was really just spicy dust that wasn't spicy at all, and ended up just making the teriyaki sauce clumpy. Crab rangoon was undercooked but the filling had generous amounts of "crab." All in all, if you're feeling cheap Asian take out, you could do worse, but not some place that I'd probably come back to myself. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, I think it's important to know who the target customer is here: the college student (least that's my assumption and why it got 3 stars instead of 2). But as someone no longer in college, it's alright. To me, what really makes a place a college spot, besides it's proximity to campus, is its portion size, cost, and taste. When a place gives huge portions at low cost and the food is pretty much a hint above edible, it's a college spot. And Tokyo Stop is that place. It has good portion sizes (usually two meals for the average adult) and low cost for the money. I got the spicy chicken teriyaki combo with the crab rangoon. Chicken seems like it was cooked over an open flame and my portion was a bit over-cooked then covered with sauce (aka, a bit dry and charred then masked with sauce). What makes it "spicy" seems to just be a dusting of red seasoning that's not at all spicy, and the spice in general lends a clumpiness to the sauce/chicken that is not quite enjoyable. Crab Rangoon skin was flimsy and smooth vs a crackly bubbly version which makes me think it was undercooked or the fry oil wasn't hot enough, but they do include lots of imitation crab. The salad was pretty basic, but the dressing had little to no flavor. All in all, it was all edible, just not something I enjoy as much now that I'm working and have the ability to go get some higher quality food. read more

Along priest Road and University Drive. -It's in the same corner lot plaza next to Dunkin' Donuts, the Phrygia market. -There's also liquor store. -Across the street there's a Taco Bell and a Circle K located within the same corner. -Across that street is a car wash and a Rally's. (The only Rally's in Tempe so I would also recommend going there as well if you have time.. Who else remembers the two dollar chicken bites box?!) -Take a ride over to the next corner and you'll have a Shell gas station with the subway. (Probably didn't need to read all that but here we go) The Tokyo Stop! Anyways I've been meaning to come back here for many years ever since before the pre-pandemic days. They have a large menu board lit up on one side hung up high above the counter. They have a beverage fridge and a few decorations inside. The small window into the kitchen you can see the workers steadily prepping and driving away at their craft. I still remember the friendly cashier man/owner from back in the day. He's always here no matter what. Five days a week. Did you have hours which cater to the family business 12 PM to 6 PM Monday through Friday. But if you're ever in the area will definitely try to recommend stopping by and supporting the local business. It's delicious! teriyaki + chicken & rice = Deliciousness For me, it's a comfort go-to food. You could really appreciate the subtleties in the decor and the surrounding area. The locale of the shop is sandwiched in between other businesses however it's easy to place an order and walk up and pay or even have delivery services. There is dining in a few tables however I can get a little bit busy sometimes so I would definitely try to call or place an order that usually works out well. I particularly like the Tokyo stop because they take time to charge the edge of the chicken strips or the meat that is used in the ingredients. You can taste the extra effort in the love that is seen in the sparks of flavor in the exotic cuisine fusion tastes. The spicy teriyaki is a bit on the heavy side where it has them some type of mixture of catch-up or I'm not sure tomato. Either way it's really good to try it on the side is a little bit but the whole entire Aundrea wants is a bit much personally. I also recommend the noodles as they are warming and soup is always great for the soul. All in all, please stop by and visit Tokyo stop. This is a wonderful cherished place for me and I hope that it will be one for you as well. This is a good spot for lunch. They are fast and efficient!! I did not find anything I did not like here. My top twos are teriyaki chicken with veggies, and pork katsudon. The extra teriyaki sauce is a very nice condiment. I can add more sauce as much as I want. This place always look busy at lunch time, not don't worry to go in. The man running the show up front is in 5 days a week without fail, and the level of service provided is unmatched. Traditional Japanese hospitality and food prepared just like you'd get in any train station in Japan (which is a VERY good thing). I go for the Tempura Udon religiously, but this is a menu that I haven't found any fault with.
