This place does not disappoint! Came here tonight for my birthday. We've seen how much busier they have been getting so we were thankful to walk right in to two seats at the bar on a Tuesday. Promptly greeted and given cold beers. We ordered the butterfly kiss roll, the Ahi tower, and the sashimi appetizer. Sushi was super fresh and delicious. Love the butterfly kiss roll...it is a thing of beauty. Service was fantastic. We LOVE the manager of the pace. She is awesome and personable and one of the reasons we keep coming back!! Super sad. We can't seem to find good Asian food in Forney. So we ordered a wide variety of things. The filet mignon tasted like roast beef. And I feel terribly even adding that in this review.. The yum yum sauce is too sweet. The rice is super bland, and plain, no veggies. The shrimp shumai were really thin, not in the traditional wrap. They were more like pot stickers wrappers. The crab Rangoon was just no.... no no no... The sushi roll (Cowboy Roll) we got wasn't very flavorful at all for everything that was in it. And the yaki chicken wasn't very good either.. Went tonight with my parents visiting. We had an amazing dinner and our hibachi chef was amazing Dojo I think was his name was very entertaining and great at his job. The portions were huge and the whole table left with huge smiles, full stomachs and plenty of left overs. My parents said this would have to be a go to place every time they come to see us. After recently moving to the area, I needed a new sushi place. I believe it has been found. I had lunch today at Tokyo Harbor and it was delicious. I had the lunch special which was $10.01 total. I had a veggie tempura roll with eel sauce, an avocado cucumber roll, a salad with homemade ginger dressing and a plate of edamame. That is a sushi steal! The vibe is relaxing, they have a beautiful bar. It was busy for lunch but not packed. The sushi rolls came out quick, but my appetizer came out after. The service was decent, nothing to write home about, but no complaints either. I will be back for sure. read more

We used to really enjoy this place but it has slowly been going downhill and after today's visit we will not be returning! I would say you could consider us regulars. We eat here (family of 4) at least twice a month, sometimes more often, and always have the same order. We always eat on the hibachi side because for some reason the food tastes better there than the kitchen. Last week we were in and the cook completely skipped over giving my wife her meal. He was visibly in a rush. They ended up making her meal in the kitchen and bringing it out after everyone was finished. We thought we'd give Tokyo another shot this week thinking maybe the cook was having a bad day and we went during a busy time. This time, we went during non-busy hours and ordered our usuals. Issues: they forgot my filet mignon, they gave my oldest steak instead of chicken. I told the cook about my filet and he looked at his tray of meats and goes "oh yes I see." The filet was brought out and grilled with the rest of the food. As far as my son's food, he can't eat steak. I told the cook, who told the manager. The manager addressed me saying, "You are trying to get out of here without paying just because your kid doesn't like the steak and you decided you want something else." I politely told her, "No, he ordered the chicken and I shouldn't be responsible for your employees mistake. My son can't eat steak and he hasn't touched it." She proceeded to belittle me in front of the other people seated at the table. She said, I shouldn't have accepted the steak and it was my fault. If you've ever been to Tokyo Harbor you know they don't give you the option of accepting food! They quickly put it on your plate. The cook didn't say, "would you like this steak?" Giving us the opportunity to refuse it. Other people ordered chicken so we thought that was his chicken. Point being Manager sucks and we won't be back! read more

Sad to write this as it has been a go to favorite for my kids. Justin has always been great to us but they have instilled a new rule that they will not make same day reservations. This the dumbest rule for a restaurant that I've ever heard of. Do you want to ensure you are booked or not??? I can make a reservation if I call the day before BUT not same day. The sushi was terrible. The soft shell crab tasted rotten. The spices tuna hand roll was not spicey and was bland. We ordered tempora shrimp and got chicken shaped to look like shrimp. Our waiter was very nice but very slow. He rarely checked on us. The deep fried fruit was greasy and not sweet at all. Every dish was poor quality and tasted bland, old or rotten. The softshell crab was old and actually tasted rotten. We have eaten there before and it wasn't this bad. The service has never been good. The place was almost empty and I still had to go find a server to get something. I don't know if they changed hands but the quality was so bad I will never go back again. We order food to pickup almost monthly. We would order more if we remembered what kind of sushi we like. Without the descriptions in the menu it's a guessing game. For the rolls we had : Rock & roll, CA roll, panther roll, Out of Control roll and I also ordered a drink. (Lemon drop) I was happy with all the flavors. The rolls were fresh and clean. Good food and good atmosphere. We've been there probably 20 times since they opened years ago and everything is consistent every time. Either Hibachi or table, everything is good. We usually do the table seating for lunch (and look for the coupons that come in the mail)...makes a good moderately-inexpensive lunch for two people. It's a great place to take or meet up with friends. The chefs there are always friendly. They all do the same "show"...once you've seen it, yada yada yada. Kids really like it tho. We always have the chef throw broccoli at us, catch it in our mouths and a good opportunity to place some friendly bets. Tokyo Harbor has become one of the go to places for Hibachi for many of the locals. We've always opted for a table to order a variety of sushi, we do notice hibachi is usually very busy. The sushi is some of the best we've had and the Chicken fried rice can hold its own against any Japanese restaurant. The hot sake always does its job and elevate your hormones. The mixed drinks are always poured with perfect balance and just two is plenty. The service is speedy and the waitresses are nice and friendly. Unfortunately, I have to give this restaurant 1 star. It used to be great, but has since gone downhill. Today was by far the worst and not worth the money. I order to-go for a bento box that comes with the salad and you can see from the picture I got 5 lettuce and a cucumber...this is just sad. Not to mention the fact that there was no tempura sauce from the bento box and the spider roll was small/tiny. The rainbow roll that comes with the bento box didn't even have crab in it. A Philadelphia roll, a spicy tuna and some hand roll I forget. We also got a compilation of HH apps. Coconut shrimp, goyza, some other shrimp fried dish, spring rolls. The spring rolls and goyza were delicious. The coconut shrimp were decent. I didn't care for the other shrimp dish. Whatever sauce was on it lacked it flavor and kind of reminded me of sweet and sour. The sushi rolls were good but the hand roll had a lot of tempura on it. I need the people of Forney to know that it is UNACCEPTABLE and DANGEROUS to act in this manner when it comes to people's food allergies and dietary restrictions. My sister is staying with me for a few days and she wanted to sushi. With my infant son I didn't want to drive all the way to Dallas so we loaded up and went to Tokyo harbor for dinner. I've been to Tokyo harbor several times and I've never had spectacular service, but nothing to keep me from coming back. However, this has got to be the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Our waitress rushed us when we first sat down but by the end of dinner that didn't even matter. Before we ordered, my sister told our waitress she has a gluten allergy. My sister ordered a roll and asked if it could be made gluten free, our waitress left to go ask the chef. She returned and told us it could not be made gluten free. My sister asked what could be made gluten free. Long story short after going back to the kitchen and then to us about 5 times our waitress said anything could be made gluten free as long as it didn't have tempura. Ok great. My sister ordered a roll without tempura and asked for it to be made gluten free. This whole process of ordering took over 20 minutes. We get our rolls and start eating. My sister eats about half her roll before noticing something is wrong. There is a slight crunch in the meat of the roll. We ask our waitress what it is. She leaves for the kitchen and later returns saying it's tempura mixed in. We are appalled! After all the back and forth there is still gluten in my sister's roll. My sister in a panic says she can't eat this roll. This is where things really start to get unprofessional. The waitress asks if she can bring her another roll without the tempura in it. (Yes! This is what we wanted to be ordered in the first place!) TMI my sister rushes to the bathroom and throws up. The waitress returns and gives her half a sushi roll. This is where I ask for a manager. We are told we get half a (finally gluten free) sushi roll because my sister already ate half (despite the first half making her sick) The manager gives us a half hearted apology and simply says the chefs sometimes just make their meats this way and don't check it before adding it to a roll (like it was no big deal). I need Tokyo Harbor to know that is completely unacceptable and dangerous! I have another sister with Crohn's disease where something like this would have been detrimental to her health. My mother in law has a peanut allergy, this kind of behavior would land her in anaphylactic shock. My sister's 1/2 roll was comped but that doesn't cover what we had to go to the pharmacy for and the uncomfortableness she will be experiencing over the next several days. read more

Ordered a chicken hibachi plate with a side of spring rolls and drove 25 minutes to the restaurant to get my food. When I got home I realized they put shrimp in my food, I am allergic to shrimp and clearly didn't ask for them. They agreed to remake the entree over but I had to drive another 25 minutes back up there then they told me I couldn't keep my first entree because although I am allergic my wife and kids are not. I would have to pay for both to keep both the manager said. I asked for any form of compensation and they provided with nothing even though they messed up my first order, made me miss my lunch, waste my gas and I get nothing but cold rice, cold spring rolls, and wack entree! We are normally regulars at in the hibachi area, but we noticed that our portions have been much smaller than usual. I mean my husband is a nice size guy (football player) and he normally wouldn't be able to eat all of his meal in one sitting. I'm not sure if inflation or pandemic has taken place here that made them cut back or what, if so cut back your prices like you did my meal too. We usually like to pay for what we get and what attracted us here is that it is local and it beats driving to Benihana's in Dallas and getting the price with small portions. My husband and mother in law took our 2 year old for her first hibachi experience. What a mistake. First, they sat a group of 8 next to us, when there was only 7 chairs. So they asked my family to get up and move to another table. The table they sat us at was in the corner, next to some cleaning equipment, broken chairs, and a dirty bucket. Once our meal was being prepared, I quickly noticed that all the smoke was being funneled directly at me and my two year old. I asked the cook if the fan was on and he demonstrated that it was by turning it off (which had no effect on the plume of smoke), and said the smoke goes into the room because of a draft. Great. So they knowingly sat a toddler and 9 month pregnant woman in the worst ventilated section of the restaurant. We asked to talk to the manager and she said she had no clue that was ever a problem. To remedy the situation, they gave us a 20$ gift card. We will not be back.
