Very overrated. The food was just not good. We ordered the chashu fried rice, crispy duck, hot n sour soup, wonton soup, and xiao long bao. The fried rice had completely raw onion in it and was lacking flavor. Nothing to write home about really, comparable to Panda Express maybe. The soups were pretty much like any other cheap Chinese restaurant soup. The xiao long bao was soggy and already leaking broth by the time I was trying to eat them. And lastly the crispy duck was deep fried duck meat. Traditionally it's roasted but understandably that's quite a bit harder to cook and takes a lot longer so shortcuts were welcome as long as it tasted good. But unfortunately it just wasn't good and unlike other deep fried foods you would eat anywhere else the skin wasn't crispy at all. It was oily and chewy with barely any crispiness. Service was below average. Our server wasn't very nice nor was she attentive. The hostess was sweet, though. At least there's that I suppose. Plenty of parking. Restrooms were clean. This was our first time here and it won't be our last. Cool decor inside the restaurant and lots of staff. We had crispy chicken bao, pork bao, moo shu chicken, and beef and broccoli. The only negative I can say is the beef broccoli was a bit bland. The rest of the food was spot on. Our server, Max, was amazing. Never wrote down any part of the order and got it spot on. I'd been seeing MiYa Chinese all over TikTok and had been wanting to try it for months, so I finally talked my wife into going and made it out. It definitely lived up to the hype, and I'd give it a solid 4 stars-honestly, it was really close to a 5. We ordered the BBQ Ribs, Spicy Jade Shrimp Dumplings, Spicy Beef Tossed Noodles, and a margarita. The Spicy Beef Tossed Noodles were my favorite. The noodles had a great texture, and the beef had just the right amount of spice without being overpowering. The Spicy Jade Shrimp Dumplings were also excellent, and the ribs were tender, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. Even the margarita was surprisingly good. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, the service was friendly, and everything came out fresh. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I want to come back and make sure this experience wasn't a one-time thing. If the food and service are just as good on my next visit, it'll easily earn that fifth star. Random weekday dinner dine-in. I was super shocked to see such a crowd. However we were quickly seated. Our server for the evening promptly greeted us and shared a glass of water and made house recommendations. We decided to try egg rolls as an appetizer and decided on our entrees shortly after. I went with the black pepper beef noodles and my beau got orange chicken. All the dishes came out plated beautifully and was pretty decent in taste. We were not aware that a sit-down Chinese restaurant existed in Lake Highlands, so this discovery was unexpected. It was a pleasant surprise. We went for a late lunch/early dinner on a Sunday. Long story short: the food is excellent, easily 5 stars. The rest of the experience was a 1 or 2 stars. If the food was not so good, we would never return. We arrived shortly before 4pm and were surprised to see that the restaurant was completely full. We put our name on the wait list and were told about 20 minutes. In reality, 20 minutes turned into 45 minutes. One of the problems is that people linger after paying their check as if they have nothing else to do except occupy a table. Maybe they don't. That is not controllable by the restaurant. But another problem is that the restaurant appears not to have a dedicated busing staff. I observed that when a table came open, one waiter would take one thing off and walk away. Then a few minutes later another waiter would take off one more thing. A third waiter would take off the rest. A fourth waiter would eventually wipe the table and set it up. Isn't it possible to have a more efficient system? They had 3 hostesses at the front but no busing personnel. Odd. We were next in line when a table came open that seated 5. We were 3 people. I asked if we could sit there but was told that it was for 5 people, So we waited more. Eventually, we got a table that seated 4, but the table was so small that it was really difficult to fit our order onto the table. As we were eating, I noticed a party of 2 seated at a table with 5 chairs. Right next to the 5 table was a table for 2, so that was curious. Another criticism was that the bathroom was extremely dirty. They have only two but the one I used to wash my hands was really disgusting. There were lots of waiters even though the restaurant was not very big. The overall impression is chaos and disorganization. There appeared to be a lot of take out orders but the kitchen did a good job getting our food quickly. That was a plus. The food itself was outstanding. The Bao soup dumplings were excellent, easily as good as at Jeng Chi which is our favorite place for dumplings. The wife loved her Mongolian beef and the beef was very tender. My Mu Shu chicken was also excellent and I was very pleased to get enough pancakes and plum sauce. Often, a restaurant will give you a huge portion of mu shu chicken and then a couple of small pancakes and insufficient sauce. The Jasmine tea was good quality and very tasty. Absolutely no complaints about the food. When we clearly had finished eating, our waiter came by to ask if we wanted soy sauce. Odd. I don't know how long this restaurant has been open but maybe they are going through the pains of newness. Everything was disorganized and poorly run. This restaurant is a welcome addition to Lake Highlands. If they can get organized and correct some operational aspects, it will be a gem for excellent Chinese food for a very long time. read more

Best Chinese food I've had in ages!!! Our server was super attentive, upbeat, and made great suggestions. We started with a pot of Jasmine tea and then proceeded to order an array of delicious items. The ribs were fall off the bone and perfectly sweet and savory. Both dumplings were perfect in their own right. When you walk in, you're immediately in the dining area--there's no real entryway or waiting space--so the tables near the door feel a bit too close to all the in-and-out traffic. We are a party of 4 and sat at 4 top ,but the table was so small we could not eat comfortably. I'm visiting Dallas for vacation and am genuinely so sad that, back home, this place is 16 hours and some change from me. Amazing, amazing food. The Northwest Spicy Dumplings were phenomenal and easily one of my favorite bites of the day. I was also obsessed with the Dan Dan Noodles. The vibes in here are also great and while we did have to wait a little for our table, we were seated pretty quickly overall and service was great. Just got into town and this was a place that popped up! So glad we gave it a try everything was really tasty. The crab ragoons were delish!! The homemade noodles were great and the dumplings were perfect! The whole place is so freaking cute inside! Our only complaint was the rice it really just wasn't good! But they had no issue with it and took it off the bill. And some items we believe were placed a little high. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I heard amazing things about MiYa and wanted to check it out. I ordered delivery and chose General Tso's chicken. Loved the fact you can tailor how spicy you prefer it to be. Often that's not the case, particularly for delivery at Chinese restaurants. The bag it came in was also really cool. Elastic and can be reused. The chicken was white meat, flavorful, tender, and had no filler. Usually general tso's has a lot of dark meat or filler. I would definitely order this again. I had to write a new review for our latest take out order. Last time we had some issues, but they addressed them immediately. Tonight they had their stuff together. With 25 online orders to fill plus call in orders and people in the dining room, they had our fresh, hot, correct order ready to go within minutes of their estimated time. I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and even though they are on the appetizer menu and it doesn't look like much, it's plenty and very filling. They are very flavorful. I recently ordered takeout and ordered a lunch special of the general tso chicken, based dish with ground beef. The lunch special was served with white rice and it was a pretty decent size portion the noodles, however was highly rated, but it was my least enjoyable dish. I think this dish would've been much better with pieces of ribeye, but not grounded meat. Nonetheless it was still tasty, but wasn't my favorite. This also is not a comparable Chinese spot for take away on and often basis because my order was close to $35 for two dishes. It's still not that bad but I definitely would come here on special occasion. I placed my order over the phone was easy and one of the hostesses were really nice and asked me if I needed anything and grabbed me things that I asked for while another host. This was pretty rude. When I asked her for certain things, she said it should be in the bag, but obviously when I opened the bag and asked for the items that I wanted, they weren't in there. So I was grateful that the other host stepped in and noticed that I needed something and didn't hesitate to ask and help. I would try this spot out again and dine in as I'm sure that will make my experience, especially with the soup dumplings.
