I had a great experience at this restaurant near downtown. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit the décor is absolutely beautiful and really sets the tone for a nice night out. I went on a Tuesday evening and was able to walk in without much of a wait, which was a plus. The drinks were amazing definitely a highlight of the night. As for the food, the fried rice was hands down my favorite and honestly some of the best I've ever had. The dumplings were also pretty good, and while the pork dish I ordered was just okay, it wasn't bad. The egg roll wasn't really my favorite, but it might be something others enjoy. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking this place out, especially for the ambiance, drinks, and that fried rice! read more

Sultry interior. Intimate booth for two on this date night. Friendly service. Plain was the food presentation. Subtle taste to each dish. Most memorable is Night Rooster's sweet and sour pomegranate sauce; that sauce alone will bring me back! CHEERS! read more

Our drinks were alright, the food was definitely good, the service was good, but we prefer their sister restaurant, The Saint. There was certainly nothing we disliked and it's worth a visit, especially for the cheeseburger potstickers. Lots of different little rooms with different vibes. read more

This meal was a disaster. I am very much in awe of the owner/chef and her incredible journey, but this food was borderline inedible. The only thing our group of 8 or so agreed that was decent was the salad and the wontons, and even then, we agreed that you could buy an asian salad mix or frozen wontons somewhere and have a better dish. The other dishes were so painful to eat, flavors off, and mushy and wet. The private room was grand and beautiful but even that could not make up for the food read more

My friend and I dined here and had an enjoyable time. Parking was easy and we were seated quickly. The service amongst our waitress and staff was great and very attentive! We started out with a few appetizers - lobster and shrimp air egg rolls, jumbo wagyu cheeseburger potstickers, duck fat spicy chicken wontons, and the drunken yellowtail. I really enjoyed the wontons (wasn't overly spicy) and yellowtail (very fresh) but the eggroll could've held more flavor (the dipping sauce was good) and if you enjoy cheeseburgers you'll like the potstickers (wasn't for me). For the main, we shared the prime filet and broccoli + added a side of steamed white rice and lava potato puree. The beef and broccoli were delicious and meat cooked well but I would've enjoyed a little bit more sauce. The puree was tasty and was a nice addition to the meal. We ended with tea and a matcha dessert - we enjoyed both! Overall, this was a good dining experience and definitely recommend! read more

What an exceptionally beautiful restaurant. As delicious as the food was and as wonderful as the service was, the ambience was absolutely exquisite, definitely my fav part of the establishment. The service was excellent too, maybe a little too excellent. We had way too many callbacks to the table by multiple people which at times felt disruptive, the table was too small for all the utensils making eating sometimes awkward, and the food all came out way too quickly, even though it was staggered. If I am being critical at any point of this review, it's just because it was an expensive experience and I just want to provide feedback that can help the owners down the road. Time for the food. The chicken nugget with caviar for $16 just seemed overpriced for what it was. We tried it. It was ok. Don't think we would order it again. The Yellowtail cold dish was absolutely delicious. Really loved that bite of food, the flavors absolutely shined. The cheeseburger potsticker was my favorite bite of the meal. Wished there were more than two per plate, though it was a larger portion. The shumai was very beautiful to look at it, but my wife and I agreed that the meat had kind of a pasty texture inside. The wrapper on the shumai was really good though. Last we shared the sweet and sour halibut. What an excellent dish and super beautiful to look at. The pomegranate sauce was such a perfect accompaniment to the honeycomb wrap on the fish which was cooked perfectly. We definitely enjoyed this one. All this with two mocktails and tip was $200. Would we come back. Yes. We definitely would love to try more items on the menu. Hope they can improve on a few of the kinks. read more

They deserve 5 stars for service alone! This restaurant is a sister restaurant of the steakhouse The Saint and is located on their first floor. They do offer valet parking. Overall the food was good, I did not like their lobster and shrimp egg rolls as they were bland in my opinion but the manager was very sweet about it and took it back, I absolutely enjoyed prime filet and broccoli it was delicious. Their Jumbo Wagyu Cheeseburger Potstickers are definitely something for an acquired taste but I am happy I tried them. We also tried Duck Fat Spicy Chicken Wontons and that was delicious! I enjoyed their matcha cheesecake. Give them a try if you'd like some interesting spin on Chinese cuisine read more

Night Rooster shares a building with The Saint (Night Rooster downstairs and The Saint is upstairs) but the vibes are very similar! A dark, trendy, and intimate vibe that's perfect to set the tone of the meal without distracting from the delicious meal you're about to indulge in! Here's what we had: -Lobster and Shrimp Air egg rolls -Caviar bites -Jumbo Wagyu Cheeseburger Potstickers -Drunken Yellowtail -Duck Fried Rice Let's start with this - EVERYTHING is delicious. My only recommendations are: (1) if you're going to start eating in any particular order, start with the cheeseburger potstickers. There's nothing wrong with them but all the rest of the dishes are SO elevated that having the potstickers second will kind of throw you off a bit. (2) the duck fried rice has amazingly tender bits of duck. Whatever your main course, GET THIS FRIED RICE! Service was excellent! Perfect balance of regular check ins. We didn't feel like we were constantly interrupted or needed to hunt around for our server. Based on the variety of people who visited our table, it's clear the team at Night Rooster orchestrates will, together. We will certainly return to try the remaining dishes! read more

Went on a Saturday night, had to wait ~15 minutes even though we had a reservation but had a great time at the bar upstairs in the meantime! Of the food, the lobster and shrimp egg rolls and duck fried rice were amazing, and the lava potato puree was maybe the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. Disappointed by the prime filet and broccoli, was unfortunately too salty. Definitely would go back to try more of the menu! read more

Excellent experience! Everything was great from start to finish. Joah and Ty were fantastic bartenders. They were friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Aperol Spritz - 2/5 Lychee Martini - 2/5 Night Rooster Caviar Bite - 2/5 Drunken Yellow Tail - 2/5 Jumbo Wagyu Cheeseburger Potstickers - 3/5 Sweet & Sour Halibut - 2/5 Prime Filet & Broccoli - 3/5 Overall the restaurant has a nice ambiance if you get seated in a side booth for two. Otherwise, it can be surprisingly loud. The waiter was kind and attentive, with food and drink taking a normal amount of time to come from the kitchen. The food and drink were disappointing. My Aperol Spritz (their version) was watery, while the lychee martini was alright. Out of all the appetizers, the potstickers were the relative best. They tasted however like any cheeseburger slider I'd get elsewhere. Didn't taste special. The other appetizers tasted bland. The main entrees were both salty, with the halibut being the saltiest. Flavor wise, it was bland though the sauce was the saving grace. The steak was good, but only when paired with the white rice served. read more

Very cool restaurant new in the Design District. Loved the vibe and decor. Food was amazing. Best thing on the menu was the Duck Fat Spicy Chicken Wontons, especially the sauce! Veggie fried rice is also very good, one of the few dishes you get true vegetables and not just peas and carrots. Highly recommend trying this place! read more

Valet parking. Street parking available nearby. Shared entrance with The Saint. Interesting entrance both outside and in. Night Rooster has dark sexy interior but not stuffy. Cozy booths for date night. Well thought out interior from lighting to utensils. Service was professional friendly and informative. Food was very good as were drinks. We enjoyed everything we tried. Will definitely go back. read more

My experience here could not have been better. I'm a fan of Chef Shirley Chung from her times on Top Chef. The food was incredible. The oysters (raised in Alabama) were briny and a little sweet. I would recommend the carpaccio, perfect with the chips. The flavors of the tea and smoke come through on the duck. The potatoes are insane. Don't think, just order them! We were delighted to be seated at a booth for two. We always enjoy sitting side by side rather than across from each other. The lighting and decor are gorgeous. Service was really attentive without being overwhelming. We even got to meet Chef Shirley at the end of our night, as she was dining as well that night! I can't wait to come back. read more

Had the pleasure of trying this place with some friends recently. Atmosphere is great - nicely decorated, the seating is comfortable. Staff - nice and attentive. Food - Lobster & Shrimp Eggrolls - Delicious 10 out of 10. Shrimp & Chicken Shumai - Delicious 10 out of 10. Wagyu Cheeseburger Potstickers - Cute that this is the dish that the Owner is known for, the dumplings tasted great. However, the dough was a bit thick, but, to each their own. Tea Smoked Duck - Delicious 100 out of 100. Must order this dish! Fried Heritage Pork Chop - Delicious; The most hearty dish. Sweet & Sour Halibut - Disappointing. Having the sauce on the bottom of the fish is an odd approach. The sauce could barely be scooped! The fish was dry even though it was breaded. Bummed that once the fish was on my individual plate, the wait staff immediately removed the plate with the sauce! Do not order; Or, hopefully, this dish gets modified. Lava Potato Puree - Delicious 10 out of 10. Duck Fried Rice - Great taste; Highly recommend to order this as a main to share if the eaters do not have a big appetite since this dish is so heavy. read more

Night Rooster I have eaten at what many critiques refer to as the best restaurants in the world. Most of them lived up to their reputation. But I must say the Night Rooster exceeded my greatest expectations. When you enter the restaurant, you instantly are in awe of the décor. It's breathtaking. The wait staff makes you feel welcome and their smiles tell you they love what they are doing. You know that you are going to have a great experience and we did. The menu was one page that offered something for everyone at our table. I honestly don't think the food could have been better. I'm sure my taste buds thought they were in heaven. Every bite just got tastier. Even though we had our own waiter, I noticed the staff paid attention to every table and every guest as they passed by. I will go back again. It was a fine dining experience that I would recommend to everyone. Dennis Kinzler read more

Night Rooster is a great restaurant. It is decorated meticulously- every item has been addressed. It's a really stunning restaurant. I will begin with service - it was top notch. All waiters, runners and even water service came on time and didn't interrupt. My wife had a cocktail and it was awesome, and she is very picky. With the food I will start with the best part of meal - the duck. We got a half of duck and with the sauces and veggie accompaniments it was amazing. We ordered the lava puree was perfect - didn't go with duck but still would order anyways. We ordered cheeseburger potstickers and they were good but not fantastic. We also ordered the rooster salad - the dressing and chicken croutons were great but rest of salad was nothing special. Overall it was a great experience and my wife and I will definitely go back. read more
