The young lady that attended me had been previously talking to someone else and she kindly excused herself and said she needed to tend to a customer. Just her attitude and politeness won me over! She was very patient when I said it was my first time and explained things thoroughly with the few questions I had while also offering a suggestion I decided to go with. Now to the food...OMG! These sandwiches AND soup are delicious! The portions were just right and the flavor was on point. The bread was toasted just the right amount, the meats tasted super fresh, and the soups felt like my mom had cooked it up in her kitchen. I know it's a basic and simple meal but some people can either overdue it or not get it right BUT Stone Soup Cafe definitely did it all right! I hope you give them a try! I'd love to try all their sandwiches now with the flavor burst I got from my very first bite to the last! I've already told my friends they need to go check them out...and they know how I love me a good sandwich. Stop by and see for yourself what I'm talking about. They're pretty quick too so if you're in a hurry you'll still be good to go! ...in my excitement for how good the food tasted I forgot to mention I ordered the tomato soup with pasta, a potato salad, 1/2 a California Sandwich, 1/2 egg salad sandwich on Hawaiian Sour Dough oh and I got a small little cookie with my order! It was all delicious!

I stopped here for lunch on a drive from Dallas to Shreveport. While the meal was fine for what it…read morewas, the lack of basic cleanliness and professional standards was a dealbreaker. The Environment: The moment I walked in, I was hit with a heavy, damp smell, like an old, moldy basement or a sour mop. The table and the ordering kiosk were physically humid and sticky to the touch; I honestly didn't even want to put my hands on them and I think the waiter sensed it too so he removed the kiosk off the table. This lack of deep cleaning likely explains the fly problem. I was seated near the kitchen and spent the entire meal swatting away a swarm. Even while I was placing my order with the waiter, I was actively waving flies away from my face. The waiter saw this happen and didn't acknowledge it. I spent the rest of the meal eating with one hand while guarding my plate with the other. The Service: My waiter was attentive and technically did a good job with the service mechanics. However, he worked the entire time with BOTH earbuds in. It is incredibly unprofessional to have a server stand in front of a guest while they couldn't even be bothered to take off their earphones. Additionally, the hosts were huddled at the front gossiping and chattering when I first walked in. The Food: The food was up to standard for Olive Garden, no mistakes there. But good food isn't enough to justify a sticky, moldy smelling dining room. Verdict: Keep driving. There are better, cleaner options on this route. And I won't be back to this location.

Unfortunately this time our waitress was more involved with her friends dining vs the customers. We also had to remind her we asked for cocktail sauce. We received the wrong drinks as well. My daughter even commented, we could use 2 good napkins versus 12 single ply. Yes we will return, the catfish is that good. And thank you to the lady we believe to be the cook for refilling our drinks when I went to the front. To our waitress with the braces, she possibly needs more training.

Never had flounder before but it was bright, fresh and well paired with a drop of soy and whatever delicious sauce was on the plate. Yellowtail Nigiri - omg omg this is hands down probably THE best yellowtail I have ever had. It was soft, great texture, FRESH! We started off with just one nigiri and ended up getting two more - six pieces in total! Roll 78 - I don't 100% remember what all is in this, but it had avocado, tempura flakes, shrimp, yellow tail, Serrano, and hot sauce. Had like a ponzu "caramel" drizzled over the top. It was THE perfect bite-size. I love sushi, don't get me wrong, but I always feel like I have to bite a roll in half or pray I don't choke. This was NOT IT! This was perfect!! Tonkatsu ramen - I don't really like ramen, I will try it when I go to a ramen restaurant but this totally changed my mind. My husband got extra spicy broth, and it was sooo good. I love the black fungus and the chasu (sp?) was lovely albeit a tiny bit under flavored but the broth definitely made up for it. Tuna toro sashimi - this one was probably our least favorite and the only reason why is because it was muuuch thicker than the sashimi we are used to. Raw fish is all fun and games until your brain goes "you are eating raw fish" and you're thinking about the weird texture in your mouth would eat again, but I think only at the request of thinner slices. Cannot wait to go back and try more!!!
