Toast 101 did not disappoint! I started with a bloody mary flight and they were all delicious! The Azian bloody mary was my fav, slightly savory/salty/umami flavor! Per the server's rec we did not pick the verde bloody and I don't think we missed out on much! For my entree I enjoyed the avocado sunrise toast and it was light and delicious and the perfect size! My friends both got the hangover skillet and it was very tasty as well. We all finished all of our plates! The meals were nicely portioned and very reasonably priced. This is the 8.00 bacon board. Regular, smoked and maple. The maple is basically regular bacon with syrup poured over it. The 40 minute wait on a Tuesday was really not worth it. We got to the restaurant at 11:35am and were seated at 12pm. At 1:05 our server told us there was a mix up with the computer tape and there were four orders ahead of us. The cooks in the kitchen were working their asses off. Our server was asking for our order to be completed as others were served. People were seated long after us were given their food long before us! We were told that large orders were being processed before small orders, instead of in the order they were taken. Three of us received our food at 1:15pm and the fourth was served at 1:30pm. Two of us enjoyed our meals. Deserves zero stars. Ordered the corned beef hash. When the food was brought to the table I immediately smelled something horrible and wondered what it was. I leaned to closer to the plate of corned beef hash to smell it and sure enough, that's what it was. Despite the smell I took a bite anyway. It was not good. Tasted bad and had a very grainy texture (like hummus). My boyfriend took a bite as well and he agreed it was bad. Long story short, they tried to make us pay half price for that plate even though it was bad food. Literally 2 small bites were taken from that plate. Never in my life has a restaurant tried to make me pay for any portion of meal that was not good. And the manager had the nerve to argue with us because we refused to pay anything for that plate. And the owner didn't have the courtesy to show his/her face when we asked to speak to them as the manager needed their permission to not charge us for the plate. I would never recommend this restaurant. Oh, additionally, the silverware we were given had dry food stuck to the front and back. Do you think we got an apology for anything? Anything at all? Nope. Poor customer service (except for the waitress. She was cool and needs to find a better restaurant to work for), bad food, dirty silverware. If you're hungry and see Toast 101, just keep driving. I like when diners can see the food being prepped, its always cool to watch. And the 4 chefs were hustling. But the amount of food left under the heaters and for periods as long as 20 minutes (yes I legit timed it), it is unacceptable to pay so much money for eggs that sat for 20. When the waiter tried to serve me those 20 minute old eggs, I said he'd better not. Rather than apologizing and offering a new plate, he threw shade on the kitchen, said he wasn't responsible, and then accused me of being "hostile" toward him. Outrageous. There were many plates of food and they seemed not to have the person they needed to get the food into the hands of the waitstaff. We won't go back. read more

I went to Toast 101 today for the first time. Holy cow was I impressed. The decor is super cute and "Instagramable." More importantly the food was amazing! We went all out. We got the bacon flight, donut trio, breakfast tots and s'mores French toast just to start. Not one thing was disappointing. Then I got the chilaquiles for my entree. It was amazing! This is the neatest place I have been to locally in a long time! I went here on 3/21/21 with my friend and my teen son. There was about a 40 minute wait, but we were warned they would probably have a wait! We took the menu and looked them over while we waited. We were seated and tended to right away by our waiter. He was so nice and had a great personality as he was cracking jokes to my teen. It was insane to just sit and watch all the different foods bring brought to different tables--they were HUGE portions and the presentation of the foods were beautiful! The owners of this establishment is Tucsons' very own Kalvin Jarvis and his girlfriend. I did have a moment to talk with him and he is just the nicest guy. Such mixed feelings here. The food is great! The first time we went, the food was good but the service and seating was "eh" so, we gave it another try and unfortunately had the same experience. Good food, everything else, meh. Servers were really nice in both instances, but both times either forgot stuff, or were just spacey. BUT they were nice, I can look past the other stuff. The seating kinda of stinks, once we were at a high top table that has no where for legs to go, just awkward, and people brush up against you as the walk by. So we asked for a booth the next time and again, the tables don't have leg room. The experience means something, without a good experience, the great food doesn't mean much!
