The soup was expensive and we didn't realize it came in a mushroom bowl. It's so small so something decorative instead of actual use. The best thing we ordered was the tiramisu. Reservations were easy to get using the park app, and there is a QR code to scan as you are entering the Mario world to make reservations when you get there too. When we showed up for our time there was no wait to enter but you still had to wait in line to order where you get your drinks and collectibles and are shown to your table. Your food is made to order and brought out to the table when ready. While the food is good, the best thing on the menu in my opinion is the Super Star Lemon Squash drink that is a honey soda with little star cut mangos and boba in it that is absolutely delicious and hits the spot on a hot day. The only thing that could make it better is a refill but as you'd expect there are no free refills on any of the drinks which are expensive. The burger was good, but besides the theming it wasn't anything really special, but the truffle fries were a nice touch and quite delicious. The garlic knots and especially the tiremisu were also very good as well. Overall, the place was busy and extectedly expensive but nice and fun, the food was good, and it is a nice air conditioned reprieve from the Universal heat. Made a 11am reservation but ended up just walking in earlier since it was not busy at all. Not really sure what the reservation entails, but you order at the counter before being taken to a table. Service was terrible, can't show up 5 mins early because they will not allow you in and employees at the registers are unorganized. This was our first time at Toadstool Cafe. We were able to snag a reservation for 12:45pm on a Saturday since we had the early access add on to our tickets. The interior was so cute with all of the different Toad animations! The hostess that let us in and that was directing people was rude. Everyone else was really nice. Food I would not recommend: Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots($5.99) - Dry and kind of flavorless Yoshi's Fettuccine Alfredo($16.99) - I'm not sure what it was, but it tasted so bad. The chicken salad has a lot of ranch dressing, we ordered the dressing on the side and it worked for us, but again chicken was dry and the croutons were bland. The special was the only good thing that everyone equally liked but I think that changes, the meat was most and tender and the sauce wasn't overly salty or whatever. Desserts were both meh, they just look really cute and catered to the kiddos, sweet, stains your mouth for a bit, and just looks cool. Returned to Toadstool Cafe today after our summer visit. This time around, our experience was more streamlined with less waiting at each portion of the experience. First, did not wait at all outside of the restaurant while having reservations. A sign was placed outside that showed they were fully booked for the rest of the day. Mushroom Soup: $20 but it comes with the cute keepsake. The soup itself is extremely creamy. It was good, but wish it was sold without the expensive bowl. Entrees: 1. Luigi Burger: Chicken sandwich with pesto on the side. Pesto is needed and it is good. Pretty standard. I did love the truffle fries 2. Bowser Challenge: the 1lb meatball was no joke! We scanned the QR code (outside of the restaurant) for reservation when we first arrived at the land in the morning. Plenty of reservations available. We ordered at the counter and then got seated. First time eating at Toadstool Cafe and thank goodness we had reservations. Even with a reservation there is a possibility you will still wait in a line with switchbacks. Your reservation time is not when you will be seated at a table. You go through the line, order at the counter and pay, get a number and hand it to an employee to be seated where your food will be brought to you. Multiple numbers can be placed at one table if everyone pays on their own. The interior is cute and feels like you're underneath a giant mushroom. Visual TVs on the sides add some fun ambience and every once in a while the lights will dim for a storm. The food was ok. I ordered the Luigi burger which is a chicken pesto burger and fries. I had some hope for it but it actually was kind of dry and lacked flavor in my opinion. Thank goodness for the fries since I ate all of them. The garlic knots unfortunately tasted stale and dry. We visited the Toadstool Café at Epic Universe, and the experience was smooth from start to finish. There was no need for a reservation--we simply walked in, chose a table we liked, scanned the QR code to order, paid, and the food was delivered right to us. Super convenient! The highlight of our meal was Bowser's Fireball Challenge. It's a spicy meatball dish, and since we love spicy food, it was perfect for us--packed with flavor and heat. For dessert, we tried a few items. The ? Block Tiramisu was delicious, and my wife especially loved the Mt. Beanpole Cake, topped with a light and tasty matcha mousse. Both were big hits. However, the Princess Peach Cake was the downside of our visit. The portion was huge, and the cake itself was overly creamy. We had seen reviews mentioning this issue beforehand, but wanted to try it anyway. Unfortunately, it definitely needs improvement. Toadstool Cafe in Super Nintendo World is undoubtedly the best theme park restaurant we've tried so far! We had a great time having lunch here during our last trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. A reservation is required to check in at the restaurant, so we used the Universal Studios Hollywood app to book a table in advance.   While the whole Super Nintendo World area feels like you've stepped right into Mario's world, that feeling continues inside Toadstool Cafe. When we walked in, the Team Members told us that Chef Toad was waiting for us! As we made our way to the main dining room, there was a large window/screen showing Chef Toad working in the kitchen. We passed the counter and entered the dining room, which had more of these windows displaying different scenes. We saw a few Toads preparing meals or relaxing outside, with green pipes around the ceiling and some hidden details only true Nintendo fans will catch. If you stay a little longer, you might notice the window scenes change! There were booth and table options, and everything looked like a cartoon with uneven lines and chunky parts. The seating is all indoors, and when we visited, the AC was on full blast. There aren't any real windows, so it can feel a bit dark and loud at times.   Let's dive into the menu. Everything at Toadstool Cafe is themed to the max. Each menu item references something from Nintendo World - like Piranha Plants, Super Stars, power-ups, and characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Bowser. The menu is filled with familiar favorites taken to the next level. You'll find burgers, garlic knots, meatballs, and even a specialty drink, all designed to look like they came straight out of a video game. Starters, salads, entrees, desserts, and a kids' menu are available, making it a great choice for groups with varying tastes. We ordered Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, Luigi Burger (Pesto Grilled Chicken), Super Mushroom Soup, and ? Block Tiramisu. Service could have been better - we waited over 20 minutes for our food, which was unexpected, especially in a theme park when you're eager to get on your next ride. However, the food was enjoyable and met our expectations perfectly. I highly recommend the Luigi Burger and the ? Block Tiramisu. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed because it was crowded. We made a reservation and were told to come in exactly at that time, they will not let you in before your reservation time. We made reservations around 1pm for 6:00pm. Just in case you need to prepare. There's a line. A line to get in. Once you're in, there's an another line to order. Another line to place your order. Then another line to be seated. This process takes about 30 minutes. When we were seated they took our receipt. A lot of people who were in-front of us started to get their food. Even bigger parties who were behind us got their food. So I told my husband to check with the one who seated us. He asked for our receipt he told them ....you took it. They looked at our food tracker and tried to find out our food. So what we ordered: - Mushroom soup - kids spaghetti - kids hamburger (Mario) - garlic knots (2) - Luigi pesto chicken sandwich So it took about an hour to get our food. Around the 35 minute mark, my husband went to speak to the person at the podium where you are seated once you have paid for your food, and ask them what was going on. Several minutes later, the manager came by and offered her apologies and placated us with another round of drinks, the Boba drink, and some freshened up our tea. More time passes. Mind you we are at an amusement park where we have to pay admission to get in. The first time they bring our food around it was cold. It had been sitting around for quite some time apparently someplace cold cold cold. I hope we don't get sick from the bites we ate. Also we saw cockroaches outside in the planter. I'm hoping to god they aren't in the restaurant also. Completely unacceptable. I speak to the nice lady at the podium again about this time. She understands our plight, and takes mercy on us. I made a reservation the morning we went to the park, in the car ride over. By the time we got into the park around 9:30am, it said reservations were closed. I honestly have no idea what the point of the reservation was. This was chaos. We got in line 20 min before our reservation and nobody even checked in with us. We just stood in line. Ordered like 20 min after our res had started, and there was not a table ready for us. They truly just do it to control the number of people, but it's pretty useless. We were basically in a ride line for 45 min, then ordered at a counter. Once we ordered, we had to wait for a table to open up. Once we got a table, it was another 40 min for our food. Overall we were there 2ish hours which was such a waste of time. It was cute that the screens had interactive videos and the theming was great. Otherwise this was basically a McDonalds. Mushroom soup - solid and you can taste the bits and pieces of mushrooms. You get to take the mushroom bowl home. Chef Toad Chicken Special - the chicken piece was just the right size, accompanied by the potatoes top with cheese crisp, spinach, lemon beurre blanc sauce was fantastic! Fire flower spaghetti meat & balls - meat ball was tender, my companion loved the spaghetti and cleaned up the plate. Block tiramisu for dessert - creamy and the sponge "walls" went well with the custard. We made the reservation online about a month ahead as soon as it was available to book for the day we want to go. By 10:30am the restaurant was quite full already but there was no line maybe due to the rainy weather. We were able to order and be seated quickly. Some people at the restaurant are strict about the coming at the EXACT time of the reservation but others will let you in 5 minutes before. Once you're let into the restaurant you place your order at the counter and are taken to an open table. Definitely so cute inside! There's monitors of toad cooking all throughout the restaurant and every so often when there's a kitchen mishap the entire restaurant changes color and it's so cool to sit through that. It almost feels immersive in a way. Cheeseburger is solid. 5/5 good patty and a good size for the price with a side of fries. Can't complain. Good basic burger. Chicken burger 3/5. Decent taste. Pretty small burger honestly, it was about 1/3 the size of the cheeseburger. If you're on the hungrier side this may not be the best option for you. Also comes with a side of fries too. Tiramisu 10/5. Must get! Not only is this the CUTEST dessert it's delicious too. The cookies that make up the block has a vanilla undertone that is so good with the mascarpone cream. My boyfriend and I were excited to try Toadstool cafe. Be sure to remember to sign up for a time slot otherwise you may not be able to get in! We ordered the mario burger, garlic knots, and tiramisu. It took about 20 minutes after ordering to get the food but the cute screen videos of toads cooking in the kitchen were a nice distraction. Garlic knots: 2/5 There was just a bit of parmesan on the top and the garlic knots were also pretty cold when we got them. There was no garlic flavor at all and nothing inside the knots. They were more like little breads with some dusted parmesan on top. Mario burger: 4/5 It's just a classic burger with fries. It was tasty and pretty good for the price considering it was an amusement park. Tiramisu: 2.5/3 It was still pretty frozen by the time we moved onto dessert but it was still pretty good. I enjoyed the viscus on the side and how it was presented. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it since it was literally frozen but a fun novelty item. read more

Toadstool Cafe at Universal Studios Hollywood was our choice for a light snack before lunch after an early morning at the park. Located inside the new Super Nintendo World, this place fills up fast, so be sure to get in line online as soon as possible. Even though we had already joined the virtual queue, we still had to wait quite a while before ordering. The menu is relatively small and doesn't seem to change, but it covers a range of options, including starters, main dishes, desserts, kids' meals, and beverages--all Mario-themed. If you're familiar with the games, you'll definitely recognize some fun references. We kept it simple with garlic knots, mushroom soup, and a lemon squash. After ordering, you're seated inside, where the cafe's vibrant, immersive decor really adds to the experience. There are plenty of tables, but they still fill up quickly during peak hours. The food itself was decent but nothing particularly special. However, the themed atmosphere makes up for it, and we especially liked the star-shaped jelly in the drink--it's small details like this that enhance the experience. Overall, it's worth visiting at least once for the Super Nintendo World vibes, and I'd love to come back to try the main dishes next time. read more

I love the FUN experience at this cafe inside the Super Nintendo world!! Although the waiting time is super long but it's totally worth it!! My tips will be: get in line as soon as you arrive at the park. Scan the QR code near the entrance of the cafe And fill out the info to be virtually in line. Then, you will get the text for confirmation. For my experience, I wait for 5 hours during the weekend. My favorite is their mushroom soup and fire flower spaghetti & meatballs. It's very delicious. All the food here serve in a cute design And some of it comes with the souvenirs. Definitely will dine here again when we're back to the park!! read more
