You can alternatively order as a sandwich (which looked delicious and plentiful based on someone's order I saw) or as tacos. The salad, which also consisted of mixed greens (romaine, arugula, etc.), shredded carrots, cilantro, cucumber, some other yummy stuff I'm sure and spicy sauce, was DELICIOUS!!! I just wish the portion was a bit larger. However, based on my first experience, I would definitely return to try other vegan (and nut free) dishes. I went TWO days in a row. Kung fu on the projector screen with subtitles on mute while old school hip hop plays in the background, how dope is that? The seating is limited and you have to get up to get your own food when they call out your order, there's also a big dispenser of lemon infused water available for you while you wait for your dine in or takeout. I ordered the fried cauliflower, the jackfruit sandwich, pizza fries, cheeseburger and the kale salad. The kale salad and the blueberry lemongrass kombucha were the best things on the menu. Odd how you'll go for the junk food and enjoy the healthier options more. (The second day I went, pulp fiction was on the screen whilst old soft rock played in the background.) If you've never had vegan before, I don't suggest this as your virginity-taker. The cheese on the cheese fries is.....interesting. I've had better but it's palatable. The best thing on the menu is truly their homemade ketchup, almost more like a tomato sauce consistency, don't skip it. It's truly delish, and you can tell it's homemade. The gyro was truly disappointing. In a gyro, you expect salty meat, crisp romaine and red onion, and creamy tzatziki sauce on a toasted pita. This gyro misses all of that. The romaine was probably crispy at once point but since you put the hot "meat" on top of that, it becomes wet and soggy. Speaking of the "meat", these oyster mushrooms have been coated in some sort of blow-your-tastebuds-out sauce and they've been cooked to be a strange chewy rubbery sensation meat should never be. The pita is not toasted and tastes straight out of the bag, and the tzatziki. All the yiayia's in Greece are rolling in their graves. It has the consistency of a broken sauce, is incredibly liquid-y and if it had any flavor, you wouldn't know because the "meat" won't let anyone else to the flavor party. All in all, there is definitely better (and cheaper) vegan in brooklyn, this should not be your spot. read more

Really laid back place with a small but tasty menu. I tried the banh mi which was a little spicy for my taste but had lots of different components - like the fried oyster mushrooms, pickled veggies, and aioli, among other things - that came together nicely. Really excited to see a vegan place in this area and excited to go back to try everything else. Update: I came back and had their eggplant parm sandwich with homemade almond cheese which was amazing (everything else on the sandwich was good too of course!). And then I split the fried cauliflower (they were out of the fried pickles) which came with a wonderful homemade honey mustard like sauce and the fries that came with a homemade ketchup. Popped in Toad Style for a post-gym bite this weekend after the BBQ pulled jackfruit sandwich had caught my eye on the menu. I've never tried this before but I have seen people cook with jackfruit on some TV shows/youtube videos and I've been curious ever since! I arrived around 12 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. It's pretty dark inside and a few seats outside would have been appreciated. Tastewise it really hit the spot. The jackfruit is very soft so the cabbage slaw adds a needed crunch. I like that it is served on a potato bun as personally, I find baguettes a bit much, but also noticed after that you can get all sandwiches as tacos or a salad which is a nice option to have! A guy on the table next to me had them and they looked pretty good. Pricewise most sandwiches come in around $10. Personally, I think that for that price some tortilla chips or small salad could be added on the side.I appreciate it's not exactly expensive but would be a nice touch. However having said that, I'd be interested to come back and try a few more things on the menu. read more

This place is pretty darn good! I wanna say thank you for actually making a lentil burger and putting some time into your food and making vegan food more delicious. I've ordered the lentil burger here quite a few times and I've gotta say it's fresh and so nice to not have the typical cheap soy filled burger or fake meat that most places serve. It's very hit and miss everytime I order from this restaurant, either items or missing, or the food taste dreadful. Maybe I compared their cauliflower wings to champs diner, but geez can you guys season it more it taste so weird even though it's supposed to be Buffalo, it's more of a roasting taste to it and I don't understand how they can mess up something so easy to do. Toad style is as the 1 star states: Not good. The food is just okay. I ordered from there this evening and I received Andrew's food. I immediately called Toad Style to inform them that I got the wrong order. I explained to John (if that is in fact his name) that I ordered through seamless and he said they can refund and I can re-order but they could not send out another delivery guy for my food that was evidently sitting in their restaurant. I guess customer service is not high on Toad Stye's list? In all honesty Joh was pretty dickish and I will not be returning for their sub-par food. I ate at the restaurant and ordered the vegan Philly cheesesteak and it was an incredibly unpleasant pile of hot mush on dry white bread. I couldn't distinguish the peppers from the cheese. My cousin who lives near this restaurant had told me not to come here because the "food is gross," but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway because I'm all for vegan food. I got the cheeseburger and the fried cauliflower. The cheeseburger was delicious every thing from the toasted bun, to the patty and the cheese. Absolutely delicious! The fried cauliflower was also really good but unfortunately the batch that I got weren't fried all the way through so every bite led to un-fried batter. It would have been truly amazing if it was fried all the way through because the flavors were there and the the dipping sauce they give you for the cauliflower is amazing. I'll definitely be stopping in again when I'm in the area. I would love to try the other things on the menu. read more

This place was amazing! We came here after exploring the Brooklyn bridge, wasnt the closet door but it was definitely worth it. Right when we got there they let us know they currently weren't open but would take our order and get it started. We immediately ordered Buffalo cauliflower (not pictured) and each individually ordered a different sandwich. My mom ordered sunshine burger, my father got the philly cheese steak and I ordered the cowgirl. All were amazing, I really could not say a bad thing about this place! My wife loves Toad Style, especially the jackfruit burrito. This place is off-the-hook secret sauce with some of the best vegan eats in BK. Also, Toad Style is a primarily defensive pose. Omg such a delight to find hidden jewles of vegan food with yummy varieties of burgers such as the jack fruit burger(It's a pretty interesting). I also ordered the cauliflower appetizer that is battered slightly spicy and the perfect crunch. Along with there delish honey mustard side sauce. This is a great alternative because the cauliflower tastes to juicy when you crunch into it way better than chicken tenders in my opinion. I really enjoy the chilly cheese fries and the aloe kombucha . Order ahead if your really hungry the wait the first time almost killed me. I've been frequenting the toad since they opened summer of 2015. Back then this corner of Bed Stuy was a food desert. They offered something new, unique, healthy, and most importantly, fully vegan. Now, a few years later, there's a lot more restaurants with a multitude of options in the area. Yet, the mighty toad still distinguishes itself offering interesting specials and rotation of cool drinks and desserts. They have an amazing staff and give back to the neighborhood and I hope they're around for years to come. read more

The restaurant is fairly small so I would come here anticipating a take out experience during rush hour, even having come on a Saturday around 2 pm I had to wait for a seat. Two stars not for food, but for customer service. Our order came late, and one of our sandwiches was incorrect. I called to rectify the issue, and the individual on the phone acknowledged they gave us the incorrect order. As someone who has worked for over 10 years in customer service, I figured this would be easily rectified with a new sandwich being sent right away, no extra charge. Instead, I was met with "well its really busy and we messed up a lot or orders." As if to make me feel guilty for the mess up. I was then given the option to either get a refund or get a refund and submit a new order for the sandwich. They had my information, so why not just send the sandwich? On top of all of that they were "closed" on Seamless so we could not place a new order. I ended the call disappointed with their service because the food is delicious. With such high delivery charges and expensive food, it does not bode well when combined with atrocious customer service. I love that this place exists and that they are so close to my house. I call them the "vegan hangover food" place because you want something carby and cheesie and greasy. I've had a few things: The jackfruit pulled pork sandwich is good but very TART. Jackfruit in brine is already in and of itself very vinegary..and the BBQ sauce that it was smothered in was extremely tart as well, on top of sour pickles the sandwich was topped with. Vinegar overload! The texture and presentation and everything else was such a delight, but they should try to balance flavors out a bit. I order this with French friends and opted for the organic ketchup. French fries are great. Ketchup? Tasted very tart and acidic. On top of the already vinegar rich sandwich. yikes! On another occasion I order the hot dog. This was perfect and satisfied that cravings. No beef with that at all. (Lol pun intended) I had their veggie burger and it's not a great "meat" substituted but it was extremely healthy and I appreciated that the ingredients were purely beans and love because that's what my body needed at the time. I didn't want just some corny soy protein burger and I got a nice bean burger which was appreciated. My last endeavor was a portobello cheesesteak. This was delicious. It didn't taste like a cheesesteak though. It tasted more like garlic bread with some grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms on top. I thoroughly enjoyed it but this is what it tasted most like to me. This too was very heavy in a vinegar taste along with the ketchup I got on the side.
