    Baba Ghannouj
    Chris W.

Came here to grab a quick sit down dinner on a Wednesday night around 6:45. The restaurant has an open kitchen and the interior is fairly Spartan, but the food is anything but. We put our order in at the counter and then only had to wait about 10 minutes for the food to come out. We got the baba ghannouj and Lebanese nachos as appetizers as well as the stuffed cabbage roll plate with side salad and chicken shawarma plate with Greek salad for entrees. The baba ghannouj had a deliciously smoky eggplant taste with it and a good amount of olive oil. The Lebanese nachos with spicy chicken (French fry/wedges with spicy tahini) were immensely flavorful. The chicken shawarma plate had a heaping amount of chicken thigh that was tasted incredible and the rice pilaf that accompanied it was fluffy and buttery! The garlic spread and hummus were also awesome. The side greek salad was nice and light while still having a lot of taste. We eat at a good amount of Turkish and Mediterranean restaurants and this place stands out. The employees were all incredibly friendly and we chatted a bit with them about how awesome the food was. I would definitely recommend seeking this place out as the food is worth the drive no matter how far away you are coming from!

    Falafel plate.

Primarily a take-out place, though there is seating and restrooms available. No table service: you order, grab a seat, then pick it up when ready. Service is friendly and prompt. We ordered a falafel plate and the vegetarian platter; they were solid and serviceable, no real complaints - but also nothing to write home about. The falafels were nicely crispy on the outside but also kind of dense on the inside. Next time we'll try some of their shwarma and kebabs as we heard those are pretty good and update this review.

Live Saj for freshly made and mouthwatering Za'taar and cheese Manoush hot off the grill!

We planned an outdoor graduation celebration party, and I knew we wanted to serve delicious and authentic Lebanese food to represent our family's cultural heritage and hospitality to feed our large gathering of family and friends. Choosing "To Beirut" to cater our event was the perfect choice. I ordered two Shawarmas cooked on an outdoor spit, along with a "Live Saj" (a domed cooking grill used to make Lebanese Manoush flatbreads, Za'atar & Cheese), along with Tabouli, Fattoush, Baba Ghanouj, Hummus, Vegetarian Grape Leaves, and Meat Grape Leaves. All of the dishes, served to order or buffet style, were delicious, seasoned to perfection, and received rave reviews from family and friends for both the taste and presentation. Abbas, the owner, was pleasant, polite, and accommodating, and listened closely to my vision of how I wanted the event to unfold. When I had questions, he was accessible and followed up in a timely manner. Since I wanted to incorporate some family serving pieces to personalize the event, he and his staff accommodated my request so that the presentation of each dish was elegant, creative, and beautiful. All in all, we could not have been happier with choosing "To Beirut" to cater our event and we give our highest recommendation for its exceptional and delicious menu, preparation, service, and hospitable and accommodating staff. Everyone at the party wanted to know where the food was from, and we happily shared "To Beirut's" name and location in Norwood center.

    Lebanese Style Beef Sub
    Karla M.

A friend and I came here on a weekday afternoon because someone recommended it to us. They suggested we try the Lebanese style beef sub which my friend ordered and I had the shawarma slam roll up with a side of fries. The fries came out first and they were a perfect size and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and still hot. The first bite of the Lebanese beef sub was incredible, and so was each bite after that. The beef was a bit dry but the flavor was great and was cut into good size pieces. I especially liked the cheese, it just made it feel like a really good cheesesteak. I do wish it had some sort of sauce in it. The shawarma slam roll up was good but I was expecting a lot more diversity in flavor since it had 4 different meats in it. Both sandwiches were a good size and well priced. The person working was nice and the food came out after about 10-15 minutes. The place is clean and is located in the downtown Norwood area so a couple things to do before or after eating, including their market one door over. Also, there's a couple parking spots a bit up the street and on the sides of streets.

    This food is fire

I'd give To Beirut in Norwood a solid six stars out of five if I could -- every visit feels like a joyous celebration in your mouth.

Take out of Falafel Plate: served with rice pilaf and choice of house salad(I didn't take one here), hummus and their special Garlic Sauce.

Delicious food! Ordered food to go. We had the Chicken shawarma plate, falafel plate and the Homemade Baba Ghanoush (Mashed roasted eggplant blended with tahini sauce & olive oil, served with a choice of fresh white or wheat pita). Both the plates were served with rice pilaf & a house salad, hummus, To Beirut's garlic sauce and pita bread. The food was fresh and delicious. Their special garlic sauce is a good side on the plate. All sides were a bit extra sour though.

Nice hole in the wall place for a quick bite when the craving for Mediterranean hits. I tried the chicken gyro and the falafel gyro for lunch, and it was a great deal at $14 for both. I thought the chicken gyro was excellent. It was well seasoned and the garlic sauce went well with the pickled vegetables. The bread was nice and soft. The falafel was okay. A bit saltier than I would have liked. It was a little dry but that's probably because I had to wait an hour to eat it. I'm sure it's much better hot and fresh.

    Spicy Shawarma Chicken Roll Up

Spicy chicken shawarma roll up w fries. $15 including $2.50 add on for maybe 5 fries. That ain't right. Food is good but come on.. Be better than this.

I've never written a negative review before, but this store is truly deserving of one. We ordered four deluxe shawarma wraps with sides of Lebanese salad, and instead got loose dry meat pieces and this horrible-tasting salad. The salad was SO sour and soggy. The meat was stale and tasted like it was scooped up from the counters. There were only three very small pieces of pita bread. The cucumbers are rotten. We were very kind over the phone and we tipped a good amount too in appreciation, and this is the service we got. I called over the phone and spoke calmly and civilly about the situation, and all I got in response was an "oops, sorry." Unacceptable. Overpriced garbage. Can't even finish this food because of how bad it is.

Chill, low key spot for some delicious Lebanese food. I had the "Falafello" which was very good. I just didn't like that there was spring mix lettuce in there, the leaves had wilted from the heat and that was kind of unpleasant. The Lebanese nachos are such a good idea and are very tasty. I also tried the Ksara red wine, it was great! Service is quick. The guy working the cash register was a bit cold at first, but then became more talkative/friendly.

I'd recommend giving yourself a little extra time during busy hours. Our server was wonderful. She offered thoughtful recommendations, was attentive throughout the meal, and even wrapped up our leftovers for us. Everything we ordered was delicious and served in generous portions. If you're a fan of beef tartare, I highly recommend the Kibbee Nayye. It's beautifully prepared and served with olive oil, raw onion, fresh mint, and pita. The Family Platter #2 is also a fantastic option if you want to sample a bit of everything. Our favorites were the baba ghannouj, layered kibbee, and the super refreshing tabouli. We ended the meal with the Katayef Ashta, a pancake filled with sweet cream that reminded me of ricotta, and it was the perfect finish. We can't wait to come back!

Our server was attentive and had great recommendations. It's clearly a fine dining restaurant with reasonable prices. I am a fan of Lebanese food, but this place elevated the experience. The server mentioned that the lentil soup was amazing and he was correct. The soup was seasoned with rich vibrant Mediterranean spices. The grains in the soup added extra texture and elevated the humble soup. The kibbeh balls were fantastic. I have had kibbeh balls before, but these were the best: crispy on the outside and moist and perfectly seasoned ground meat on the inside. There were pine nuts and minced onions in the kibbeh that elevated the dish. Then came the kaftah kebabs with grilled vegetables. Those vegetables were grilled nicely. The ground beef and lamb kaftah kebabs were spectacular. So meaty! These kebabs didn't have fillers. They were beautifully seasoned, grilled nicely and moist on the inside. What a delight! I recommend this establishment.

Currently closed till 7/2024 according to Yelp…read more But late 2022, we finally got the chance to try Fairouz's $43 Mixed Grill Plate (chicken, beef, shrimp (4 count), lamb, kafta (ground beef and lamb), served with rice, salad (simply lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes, and two portions of oil based dressing), garlic dip & hummus dip), to go. Everything came well packed, with the salad in a large plastic clam shell, two little sauce containers of each dip, two ziplock baggies of pita triangles, napkins, plastic ware, all sitting on the aluminum foil covered tray of meat and rice. Since I had been enticed by Bea's photo of this dish, I was a little disappointed at the lack of grilled vegetables. But there was salad and upon reflection, the menu made no mention of such veggies, so perhaps there's been changes over time? The rice received props from this household, and wonder at how it was flavored. The meat, though medium to well done, was tender enough, and the lamb lacked that gaminess that the non-lamb-eater among us so dislikes. The kafta and shrimp were the most strongly seasoned proteins of the bunch, and the shrimp rather juicy. Both hummus and garlic dip were good, but the garlic is indeed strong with the latter, so spread with a light hand. You can always add more to taste after all. The worst that could be said was that I wished that there had been more tomatoes in the salad, and if only they had not split the pita triangles. Pitas without their pockets are rather tougher to enjoy as self made mini sandwich bundles of all the good flavors and textures. I hope they see this and reconsider.
