    Pork Souvlaki on Pita Sandwich
    Victoria C.

A small Greek restaurant with just a couple of tables for seating. I came here to grab a quick dinner and decided on getting the pork souvlaki and I requested with no onions and they said that's fine. They said it would take about 10-15 minutes since they cook the meat on the grill after you order. It took about 10 minutes for the meat to cook and to assemble my pita and I was out shortly after. Overall, the souvlaki was great, except I was disappointed that they added in so many onions and didn't honor my request. The pork was cooked well, not too dry and the tomatoes, french fries, and sauce went together well. The pita was soft and was a great wrap that was able to hold everything together. I would like to go back and try some of their other wraps and baklava, so hopefully next time they'll remember to forgo the onions.

    Dry pork and gristle

I stopped in for first time as reviews said delicious gyro. I will not stop in again. Ordered pork gyro and was waiting her to shave some fresh pork off the rotisserie. Instead she had a pan of shavings I guess on stovetop. The gyro meat was as pretty much inedible... dry scraps probably from the last of a previous roast as there was a new one cooking. Serving a customer that and especially a new customer was enough for me.... Pita nothing to write home about. Only a few onion shavings, 2 tomato pieces and few soggy French fries.... I have Eaten gyros at many local Greek restaurants... Kourzinas inDedham , Fiesty Greek in Norwood and others... this was the worst... shouldn't serve that to anyone... most ended in their garbage pail by front door with sign saying they are closing July 30th and returning September 6th... ? Stay closed to December if you want... I won't darken your doormat again serving me trash scraps that should have been put in dumpster out back for animals to find and eat.

Food's great, people are great. Best gyro around. The pita is served hot off the grill and is delicious!

Effie is the best. The souvlaki never disappoints. This family owned business is a true gem.

Food is always great! We get pork gyros and spanakopita every time, as long as they haven't run out of pies!

Just good, honest food. I like that. The person at the cashier? Fantastic. Very attentive, very friendly. Great hospitality. Now the menu. Lots of options. My son wanted something simple, a cheeseburger with ketchup. Classic kid move. They made it exactly how he wanted it and let me tell you... he demolished that burger. Completely gone. Me? I saw the calzones and I said, that's what we're doing today. Ordered the small calzone and wow. Delicious. Very flavorful, very filling, and honestly the size was impressive. If that's the small, I can't even imagine the large. I demolished it. The place itself looked clean, felt clean, which is always important. Ambience is laid back. Nothing crazy, just comfortable. Exactly the kind of spot you want when you're hungry and want good food without the fuss. Only one small thing. And I mean small. I wish they gave a little more marinara sauce with the calzone. That sauce is good, and the calzone deserves more of it. But overall? Great experience. Great food. Good people. I definitely recommend Maria's Kitchen and I will absolutely be back. If you're in the area and hungry, go check it out. Trust me on this one.

The place looks like a diner from the 1940s and probably hasn't been renovated or updated significantly since it opened in 1937. It's well-worn but the dining room was clean and comfortable. Since they are famous for their pizza, we ordered a cheese pizza with mushrooms which proved to be tasty. We also got the chicken and eggplant parmesan which was good but not particularly special; above average diner food. Service was excellent from 2 staff that probably have worked at the place for decades. Portions are generous and prices competitive. We'll definitely return!

The interior is from the 1950s. Small, cramped booths, servers that look like they have been there forever, and a great casual family atmosphere, energy. I had a salad with creamy Italian ( delicious), a great big piece of chicken parm (delicious!) that came with a side of spaghetti. Oh yeah. They also serve you with your meal, Scali bread and butter. The food was served hot! I loved it! It seems like most places serve you warm food these days. The food was all delicious, friendly service and a really nice time. I tried to get a few slices to go, but they only serve their famous pizza as whole pies. The pizza is the star of the show here I hear, but I would say everything was the star. Great food, reasonable prices and a great atmosphere! I'll definitely have to go back there for their pizza. Beware if you are a little bit uh, big or Alan Thicke as the booths are very tight, a bit small and a bit cramped for my liking. It may be because I'm a little bit big( 6'2" 240 lbs.). I get it. Places generally weren't made to accommodate people my size. If you have never been here...why not?! Total Class place.
