This was a good spot but I think I ordered wrong. The Greek smash burger was just a gyro with burger meet in it. If I had know that I probably would have ordered something else. It was still good though. Baklava was not my favorite. Not very moist and a bit hard. Ambiance is super nice in here. Lots of seating. The menu is really big. Lots of options. Salads, gyros, plates, etc. The man who took our order was very nice. Food was ready quickly.
Colossal portions, packed with flavor, with imported Greek sodas in the fridge. My kind of place. The chicken gyro pita I had was outright yummy. Its shaved dark meat chicken had a gorgeous crisp on it, with the product of Maillard reactions all over the place. The mustard was sweet, not sharp; the raw red onions cut through for balance. So satisfying. As a foodie (I still hate that word), I want to point out that as other reviews note, the portions are huge. The pita diameter was as big as my fist's. It was awkward to eat and pieces of chicken kept falling back onto my plate. On a Fourth of July when most other local restaurants were closed, Gyro City was at most half full. It deserves more customers. guess people were barbecuing for the holiday.
I really enjoyed the food here. The chicken gyro was very oily but I would go back to get something similar but maybe in a salad. My boyfriend got a chicken salad and he said it was really good. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice. It was a bit loud when we went.
I am so happy I found this place! I ordered a chicken gyro and it was a huge portion of tasty chicken and fries in a pita with a light honey mustard sauce. It was out of this world! There is actually a lot of seating and the place is very comfortable. They put my food on a beautiful plate as you can see in the photo. The employees were friendly and helpful. I can't wait to return and try something else, they have a large menu of Greek dishes.

I went back to Gyro City after not going for a few years and their quality has gotten so much better. They've also expanded their menu and has tonss of options! This is counter service so you order at the front and you can see them make your plate in front of you. Lots of seating area but it seems like a take-out heavy spot. I got the lamb kebab plate which came with rice pilaf, lamb obviously, greek salad, and tzatziki sauce. The portions are HUGE. This plate was two satisfying meals for me. The lamb was also so flavorful and juicy and there were not skimpy with the meat. Loved the salad too, especially because I am a huge feta cheese girl. I will say, the dishes here are more expensive than other fast Greek restaurants I've been to. But the portions make it worth because you're essentially paying for two meals.

The interior of the restaurant is pretty spacious and has a good amount of seating if you want to dine-in. You order can order at the counter and find a place to sit or take to-go. I ordered the chicken gyro sandwich to-go. Didn't have to wait long, maybe 5 min at most for my order. The chicken gyro sandwich itself is not bad! Quite filling and heavy since they add fries in gyro as well. Instead of the traditional tzatziki sauce, they use a mustard sauce. Though I prefer the traditional sauce, the mustard isn't bad! Service was quick! Would definitely come again to try other things on the menu. They have quite a good selection of items to try and a small refrigerated area for drinks and an assortment of sauces and dips you can purchase.
My boyfriend put me on to this place because he's been obsessed for YEARS! I finally got to try it out and ordered the Falafel pita since I'm vegetarian. This was my first time trying a gyro and 10/10 recommend this authentic stop. The portion was HUGE, but I couldn't stop eating because it was sooo good. We ordered a side of French fries too, but thought that it could have used some salt (personal preference). Service was quick and place was nice and clean. Would go back again!
I've only ordered takeout from here, but it is consistently good. I usually get the chicken gyro plate with salad and rice. The portion sizes are huge. Its around $25 but I usually get 2 meals out of it. The keftedes (meatballs) with tzatziki sauce are also bomb. One of my favorite places in the area
Apps: - Kolokithokeftedes: A bit heavy on the feta and dill for me. Additionally, the middle was a bit mushy, a result of it being a bit thick. The outside was crisp and had good taste. - Hummus & Pita: Great hummus and good pita Entree: Lambchops were great! cooked and seasoned to perfection, and reasonably priced for 4 pieces.
The pork gyro pita is amazing! The pork is juicy and flavorful, the fries are crispy and the other ad-ons make it really well balanced. Do be warned it is definitely a little greasy as you can expect. The price is very reasonable as well. I've never had greek rice pudding before. Not my personal cup of tea but it was nice to try something new. The food comes out very fast and there's also plenty of spacious indoor seating. They offered a small student discount! Staff is friendly as well.

I like the quality of the food but it seems every time I come here they find a way to charge me more. Chicken Kebab salad is listed in the menu at $18. That's already a steep price for a salad. I ordered a greek salad with chicken souvlaki. I didn't know kebab and souvlaki were that much different... so ok.... now my salad is $24. Oh. 25% more money.. I guess it's because they're about to put a massive amount of chicken on it because that must be the portion of souvlaki to justify the price? Nope. 5 tiny chunks of grilled chicken... about 1/3 of the kebab chicken it seems. Wow. I asked for some extra feta on my $24 salad. That's $2 more. I'm now having a $26 salad. I've noticed this in the past as well. They will find any way possible to upcharge you. I skipped a drink anticipating maybe a cup was $6 and the ice another $3. Lids for $2. Straw a bargain at $1.50. I will say this. At least for $26 I got a hefty amount of veggies. Not $26 worth but by comparison, when I order or do take out the containers are tiny. I swear it's a 1/3 of the size you get in the restaurant. I would be paying $26 for 1/3 of what I got. I like the quality of the food here but they're charging sit down prices for a counter service place. The staff seems really indifferent to just charging you whatever. You want extra tzatziki with your gyro? They sell $10 tubs. Don't dare ask for a side portion. You're in for that $10 tub. Now your $18 gyro is $28 but at least you got a container of tzatziki, more than you need for the gyro. I love the food but I feel like I need to negotiate every item I order and ask the price. Any deviation and you're looking at a 30% increase. You want those fries well done? That will be another $6. I'm no longer tipping at this place. For $26 salads, the staff better have Healthcare and be making 4 times the minimum wage. read more
Ordered the pork gyro Togo. The fries got a little soggy but that's normal as it was a takeout order. The entire Gyro was excellent. Probably the best in entire Boston. Highly recommend. I really enjoyed the food here. The chicken gyro was very oily but I would go back to get something similar but maybe in a salad. My boyfriend got a chicken salad and he said it was really good. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice. It was a bit loud when we went. read more

I am so happy I found this place! I ordered a chicken gyro and it was a huge portion of tasty chicken and fries in a pita with a light honey mustard sauce. It was out of this world! My boyfriend put me on to this place because he's been obsessed for YEARS! I finally got to try it out and ordered the Falafel pita since I'm vegetarian. The pork gyro pita is amazing! The pork is juicy and flavorful, the fries are crispy and the other ad-ons make it really well balanced. Do be warned it is definitely a little greasy as you can expect. The price is very reasonable as well. I've never had greek rice pudding before. I had walked past this place several times and had a feeling it would be absolutely delicious, but had been hurt by bad Mediterranean food before so I wasn't sure. But boy am I glad I finally came in because it was absolutely delicious and authentic! I was giddy just walking around and waiting for my food and the first bite-I didn't even have time for a picture because I dove right in! I got the pork gyro wrap that came with pork, sauce, onions and tomatoes, and fries. The pork was super tender and juicy and really complemented the other pieces within the wrap. I will 100% be going back because I think I just found my favorite greek food place thus far in Boston! read more

Freshest salad, grilled chicken to perfection, peppers onions olives feta I mean seriously one of the most delicious salads I've eaten!! I have eaten at the restaurant as well and the staff is always very kind and friendly. Why this place doesn't have ten stars is beyond me! read more

The food is insanely flavorful, fresh and so well prepared. The gyro (pork or chicken) are seasoned perfectly and they have an earthy, salty flavor. Sometimes I find it a little oily though! My go to is the gyro dinner which comes with a greek salad, fries, pita bread and tzatziki. The fries are nothing to write home about. The salad, even though basic, is so good! The dressing is slightly sweet and the freshness cuts the fat from the gyro. The bread is warm and soft, and the tzatziki brings the whole dish together - it adds texture, moisture and complements all the flavors. Also, the portions are generous and it can easily feed 2 people. The falafel is also amazing! Super crispy outside, tender inside, fresh and flavorful. I come here at least twice a month and can't get enough! read more

Overall: 9/10 Taste: 9/10 - Best tasting grab and go Greek food I've had in Boston. Wide variety of options but the shawarma is the star. I like how they let it get extra crisp giving it an added layer of flavor. Everything else complements the meaty, succulent shawarma. Price: 10/10 - The food is great value. The price on the menu may be misleading with the shawarma plate listed as $20. However, the portion sizes make up well for the prices. Service: 8/10 - The workers are good with announcing numbers loud, however, aren't super friendly. Ambiance: 9/10 - Nice casual feel with TVs. The trash was overfilled though. read more

I was in mood for a gyro. It is first time trying Gyro city. Fast service, 10.95 was reasonable price. The French fries soggy, needed better crunch. Lop sided sandwich with all fries on right side... need less fries and few on left and few on right. Tomato and red onions nice and fresh, sauce good... needed a little more... It was good sandwich and I would order again... I think only chicken or pork swarwma and no beef or lamb... read more

the chicken gyro were DELICIOUS--i think they're the best i've had in boston so far. we decided to try to the spanakopita, but i wasn't the biggest fan. this was my first time trying the dish, so it's likely that spanakopita just isn't for me. the staff was really friendly and the space was open and clean. i loved the plates they served the food on. i would def go back here for the chicken gyro again! read more
Absolutely love Gyro City! I have never sat down and eaten here, but I've gotten take out quite a few times which has always been phenomenal. The best thing you can order here is the dinner box. It's 2 skewers, half order of gyro meat, pita, and 2 sides. You also get your own choices on these which is great. You can choose between chicken or pork, and then you have rice, fries, or salad, for side options. The dinner box is massive and is usually two meals for me. I always go for the chicken and I'm never disappointed. The gyro meat is just ok, but not why I order this. The souvlaki is delicious and juicy, salad has a great dressing, pita is amazing, but the fries are often soggy. However, this thing is about value. At $14 for two meals you're not going to get a better deal for Greek food in the area. read more

The pita was good but unfortunately the sauce was not as listed on GrubHub--it says Tzatziki but it's actually honey mustard (accurately listed on their website). Can you tell me why it's okay in times of covid to pull down your mask (putting your fingers inside to do it) and then come around to talk to people unmasked, and then handle food and money... all while never washing your hands? Oh don't worry... the cooks are wearing masks, that slip and they adjust them while wearing their gloves and go back to touching bread and other cooked foods your going to eat. Gross gross gross. Super delicious food. The portion size was good for the pricing, and it was done quickly. The seating was spacious and cute as well. The only small thing I would critique is that their menu offers some sides but when you order them you are supposed to just grab a container of the side from the fridge. It just felt a little too grocery-store like. But everything else was great and delicious!! read more
