We shared the Poikilia Kreaton for 2 which was more than enough food. Lamb chop, Sausage,Chicken, Fries and Pita bread I think we inly finished half of it. After meeting the family at a festival in wrentham, they found this place in Walpole which is near where I live in Norwood, so they said we could go have lunch there. Well I've eaten at a lot of Greek restaurants here and in Greece and this is one of the best places I've ever been to, to have a good sit down Greek meal. Where I live there are great restaurants for any type of cuisine you can imagine and a great Greek restaurant but the one near me is more like the best fast food in Greece. (A gyro wrap is the most traditional Greek fast food you can get). If people every ask me where to go to try other great Greek dishes, I will tell them to go there, 10 minutes from where I live and and on the eat home come by and drop off their left overs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They accommodated us for a table of 7 and although it can be a bit loud, you can still talk to anyone in your party.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But i would recommend getting a reservation so you don't have to rely on luck like we did. This place might not look like much from the outside but man is it good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is nice and they have a nice bar area right when you walk in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated all the way in the back right next to a huge picture window overlooking the outdoor patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outdoor patio is nice for the weather but it's in the middle of the parking lot so there's nothing to look at lol but the food makes up for that![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the trip of dips. Hummus was great (I make mine with more garlic but that's a preference), tzatziki was chunky and a touch briney, the whipped feta with chili was a wild card but it pulled through with flying colors. Grilled octopus appetizer was to die for, on a bed of mushed split peas. It had a char on the outside, and was perfectly tender. The kefta was good, I'm used to more herbs in the Armenian version, but the lamb flavor came through even with the red sauce and cheese. I had the ribeye for dinner. They nailed this. Crispy, caramelized meat and fat on the outside, perfect medium rare in the middle. It was a large steak (maybe 12-14oz) of good thickness. The potatoes and grilled onions and shishito peppers were icing on the cake. At the table we also had the lamb chops. A great portion 3 large chops with thick wedges of fried potatoes. The pork skewer was larger than anticipated, seasoned well and not over cooked, again it came with the fried potatoes. The branzino was meticulously seared yet still flakey and moist. The bed of chickpeas was a surprise and gave major 'wow' flavor. Our waitress was lovely, she floated in when we needed something and left us alone to enjoy the company. The owners' mother also works the floor and she is adorable and so happy to be there. 100% hit this spot. read more

Woke up craving Greek Salad - REAL greek salad, chunky tomatoes & real good feta - jumped on Yelp and read the reviews for this place & knew we would be in the area so we headed out to pick up some dinner to go! Now, knowing we were traveling we opted for things we think might have traveled better & next time we will def stay in because I want to try many more things. First off the bartender walked us through the entire menu with suggestions & things to try - what would travel better than others and was just all around helpful. Had a drink while we waited for our to go order. While we were sitting I noticed an older woman in the front area and I happened to mention something to her and she came over & started to talk to us - turns out she was the mother/aunt of the owners and brought us out some baklava to bring home - Which by the way was GOOOOOOD!!!! The Cheese was all soo good, the Saganaki is hands down one of my fave greek items and this one did not disappoint, and the Salad was great. Im ready to drool just writing this review. Came here for appetizers and boy was I impressed! Their standout dish for me was the Kolokithakia, aka fried zucchini with tzatziki. They are addicting and I could've eaten the whole bowl alone. The perfect crisp paired so well with the sauce. I highly recommend this appetizer. Although I did not eat an entree, my friend ordered the roast chicken dish and loved it. Stumbled upon Kosmos after a late Costco run, and I am so glad I did! Since I live an hour away, I wanted to grab dinner at a reasonable time, and Kosmos turned out to be the perfect choice. My rookie mistake was not making a reservation on a Saturday night, but luckily, there were seats at the bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is simple yet stylish, but the vibe really stands out. IT was warm, lively and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Every single staff member was welcoming and even the customers were friendly. This has been one of the best dining experiences I have experienced since moving to MA. The food was so good that I actually made the drive back and yes, I drove an hour there to eat (2 hours round trip).It's one of the best Greek food I've had in a long time, it is comparable to what I enjoyed when I visited Greece. For salads, the Horiatiki salad is a must. Appetizers, Kataifi shrimp was perfectly fried with a sauce that is sweet with a hint of spice. But, the grilled octopus, this is a must. You have to order it. I have not found a spot that cooks grilled octopus this good anywhere in NYC or here. This dish has brought me back to Greece. If you are dining with a large group, go for the Giovetsi Thalassinon. One of my absolute favorite dishes at Kosmos. The pasta grains are cooked perfectly, and the generous portion of seafood make it worth every penny. My wife and I like to call it a Greek paella. For meat lovers, the Poikia Keaton is also really good with different grilled meats on the dish. If they have any specials that night or day, you must try one of them. Overall, Kosmos delivers on everything; great food and warm hospitality which makes the drive worth it. This is hands down my favorite restaurant up here at MA. read more

No matter what we ordered, we were speechless. The food here is perfection from start to finish. I selfishly didn't want to put this review because I don't want the competition for reservations. Really though, do yourself a favor, and take someone here if you enjoy their company. We ordered the crab dish and the feta dish to start, branzino and lamb for dinner... and for dessert... oh gosh the dessert... baklava with olive oil ice cream. Kosmos WILL NOT disappoint. Quite possibly the best meal near Gillette Stadium. It is very high end Greek and Mediterranean food, in a small but beautiful spot in downtown (?!) Walpole. I recently took a dear friend (and proper epicurean) from out of town. It was my second time at Kosmos, and (like the first time there) there was zero disappointment! We both started with a signature cocktail that essentially was a delicious Manhattan but with Metaxa. Unusual and very good. They brought fresh bread with drizzled evoo (super high quality!) We started with their legendary grilled octopus. It is perfectly spiced, so that the flavor is enhanced, but not eclipsed, and it has small dollops of humus (excellent). Out of respect for the amazingly intelligent octopus, I generally avoid it at restaurants, but this one splurge was definitely well worth it. Our server noted that it is unforgettable (and he was right). We split the "meat" mixed grill for two (frankly, it could easily satisfy 4-5!) as I had the seafood for two (but three of us ate it) on my previous trip to Kosmos. Both are delightful. The mixed grill came with grilled lamb chops, amazing grilled chicken on the bone, Greek sausage, and an enormous lamb kebab (so big, we had to ask the server to help to remove the long skewer) and tons of thin Greek french fry wedges (addictive). Generous sides of homemade tzatziki and what we both guessed was taramasalata. Very very very good. And there is fresh pita (as well as those fries) for dunking. In short, the leftovers were so voluminous that they were my lunch and dinner the following day. It's not cheap by ANY standard, but the quality and quantity of their food and drinks certainly justified the cost. This is one of the three best gourmet Greek restaurants I have been to in the US (the other 2 are in NYC) and is on a par with wonderful meals I have had in Athens and the Greek islands. read more

We ordered the zucchini chips, the octopus, and the beet salad, and the humongous platter of meat for two. For the first time, we had to doggy bag some of it. Had all of it for lunch the next day. Best Greek Food I've ever had. Except the time when I was in Greece LOL! You know when you go out to eat you expect everything to be great or how about excellent, exciting, fun, romantic, lively. I know, I know these are just some adjectives I like to use to describe Kosmos. We came here after an event since it was nearby and on recommendation. Luckily we scored 5 bar seats since the restaurant was full. Our bartender (blanking on her name) was incredible. She was so kind and helpful. I was actually the first one there and was trying to save all 5 seats and was hoping my friends would arrive in time and luckily they did. I tried a few of their wines from Greece and I went with their Pinot Noir which was great. To start we ordered: Kolokithakia (lighly battered zucchini), Horiatiki Salad (classic greek salad, Trio of Dips, and a rice dish that I can't remember the name. Everything was spectacular! From service, to food, and then the best part was meeting the owners family and Chef who all came out to say hello. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is definitely a gem in the heart of Walpole. Everything is just so delicious with generous portions. Some of my favorites (I can't list them all): -Beet salad- it's made with a homemade sesame bread wreath around it. It is *so* good. -Crispy shrimp appetizer -Branzino fish -Salmon There are plenty of other favorite dishes, these are just the first ones that came to mind! I've enjoyed all of my dishes here. A friend was visiting down in Walpole so I made the trek down there way and landed on this hidden gem. The revive was good, the food was great. I may just make my way down again for that alone. And before you wonder, I've been to Europe several times. As far as restaurants in our area, the best BY FAR. This place absolutely NAILS flavor and texture. The combination of traditional Greek with modern twists is unrivaled. The modern twists still remain so true to the soul of Greek cooking. The staff is lovely and helpful. The restaurant is popular and busy. (Recommend reservation.). Food is amazing...great selection of Greek appetizers and main courses. If you are up for sharing you can order one of the sharing main courses. Tried multiple items here and loved them all. (Fried zucchini....so yummy.). Good size portions on the plates. So unless you want a lot of leftovers start small. They also have a full bar with craft cocktails and good wine list. Prices are reasonable and there is parking lot in back. We've visited Kosmos twice now and I think we've found our new favorite restaurant. Nestled in a row of buildings in downtown Walpole, it's not much to look at from the street, but inside it's a different story. The place is quaint and larger than it looks, with two inside dining areas separated by a short hallway, and an outside dining area in the back. Table space is more than adequate, the lighting is perfect and the décor is subtle, but inviting. Assuming you like Greek fare, the food is superb! I was especially impressed by the Kontosouvli, a pork skewer with tzatziki, fresh pita bread, and Greek fries made on site. My wife was delighted by the salmon special with steamed vegetables. Their wine list is wonderful, but their desserts - of which there are only three - were fantastic. Monica had the rolled baklava and I had the Lemonopita, a lemon cream merengue with graham crumble. She had an espresso afterward that she thought was terrific. The service was excellent! Our server, Payten, was attentive, friendly, responsive and charming - best waitress we've ever had. What the heck more could you ask for? It's a bit pricey, but the servings were way more than enough and we each went home with enough for another meal. So the value is outstanding. Immediately upon walking in, the staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very clean and chic. Every table was full, and it was a Wednesday night. I'm glad I made a reservation earlier in the day. There were so many options for appetizers but limited options for meals. However, the food that we ordered was very flavorful. The service was great. However, we were there for a long time. One other thing to note - as an ice cream enthusiast, I was there was more ice cream on top of the baklava. Parking was easy. Both of us ordered Trios, it was ok, only lavash was 5 stars. For main dish each of us ordered pork on skewers, it was humongous portion of good part, but it was very dry so chewable. Unfortunately, I cannot suggest the cook to cut meat on smaller pieces and serve on 2 skewers. Pork must be well done and having large pieces inevitable makes them dry. Potato was bit overcooked, or maybe heated up, so feta on the tope made it ok. Non-alcoholic bear was nice and cold. Service was very good. Kosmos is a breath of fresh air to an otherwise relatively dull and predictable suburban dining scene. Far from the traditional recipes from a Greek Yiayia, they dish everything up with a touch of modern flair that makes for a standout, and delicious experience. The decor is sleek and showcases a lot of blues and whites. There's Birch dividers to break the bar area from the dining area, there's pieces of ropes on lamps to tie in some of the Mediterranean vibes and frankly, it all works beautifully. We opted to try their imported Sparkling water, Zagori ($6.50) a pop to accompany our meal and ordered up a whole bunch of different dishes. The marinated olives ($7) were generous and had big notes of Greek herbs, garlic, and citrus. The Saganaki ($14) was delicious and fun to share; a big hunk of salty, pan-friend Vlahotyri hard goat cheese that came served up with a unique and creative tomato and strawberry jam whose acid cut the richness of the dish. A massive hit for our table. The Kataifi shrimp ($16) were also delicious and beautifully cooked. Five came to an order and the outside was perfectly breaded and the honey that came with it was a nice accompaniment. Then came our entrees: the lamb chops ($39) and the Kontosouvli $26) - which is a massive pork skewer served up with Greek fries, Tzatziki and pita. Both were scrumptious and the presentation on the Kontosouvli was really cool; it came plated in a special tray with the skewer suspended over the rest of the food, dripping occasionally little droplets of fat over the rest of the dish which was... neat and made for a tasty meal. The side of braised wild greens, Horta ($6), were dill-heavy but the touch of olive oil and lemon juice lightened everything up and it paired nicely with our entrees. Service was stellar, as was the food and their extensive selection of Greek wines, imported beers and more made for a beautiful meal and experience. The decor pops and the modern twists on the food give you a big city experience, right in the heart of Walpole. I cannot wait to return. It looks like they'll be refreshing their menu soon for spring which is nice and they just started offering up brunch as well. Had a reservation at 515. Received a call at 5:18 that we were late. We were literally parking in the lot behind the restaurant. Walk in and the hosts make snide comments about being late and that there was a 715 reservation after us. Okayyyy. This was my first time at this restaurant. Very bad kickoff. We ordered a ton of food, a bottle of wine and some ouzo. The cucumber and tomato salad was fine. The saganaki was sad and not hot. The broccolini was overcooked mush. The mixed meat plate was okay. The quality of the lamb chop was not better than what I get at Costco. The beef over cooked. The sausage dry. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The star of the night was the fried zucchini. After dropping $250 and only finding the fried zucchini memorable I will definitely not be back. Even though the waiter was quite nice and attentive, we could not get over the rudeness of the staff. Then even the nice waiter told us at 7:05 that the next reservation was coming soon. We were getting up to leave. There was no need. Couldn't decide between trying Kosmos for dinner or for brunch but settled on Brunch. Absolutely loved this new restaurant in Walpole. The inside was very stylish giving off Greece vibes. Nice setup with the bar on one side and then more seating on another to give a quiet experience. The menu offered lots of traditional Greek dishes and a twist on brunch favorites. We got the lamb meatball shakshuka and the French toast. The shakshuka feeds 2-3 and was very tasty. The French toast was the star of the show as it was a nice thick brioche bread and was soft on the inside, but crunch on the edges. The whipped cream, berries and we added the Maranda chocolate to make one of the best French toasts I've ever had. Also got an infused whip cream boozy ice coffee that was so good. I would 100% recommend this spot if you're looking for a trendy brunch with great food without having to go into the city! read more
