Food looked and tasted great, especially the veal chop. Unfortunately over 45 minutes from when we ordered and never got our appetizer. - A person wearing a green shirt and a face mask sits at a restaurant table with food and drinks, with other diners visible in the background.

Cute spot and main courses and drink was good (wife started with very tasty cucumber martini thing). My stuffed veal chop especially was well cooked. The pumpkin ravioli was OK. Focaccia bread to start was disgusting. It was freezing cold (like from the freezer), really dense and flavorless. They later told us they were having issues with ovens, so maybe unable to provide warm or fresh bread? Service was terrible. I think our waitress was on something or just really scatterbrained. They messed up our first drinks (gave us what we ordered, but then later brought us something else) and never put in our appetizer order (despite having a long conversation about what the waitress recommended, saying ribs were fall-off-the-bone), saying they sounded great and we'll take those, then telling us she'll go put that order in and come back for our dinner order, and then later confirming our appetizer order was in while taking our dinner order. For some reason, it took almost an hour to get our food from the time we ordered (with no appetizers or edible bread in between). They also took a drink order for my wife before the mains arrived but didn't bring it out until she was done (their wasn't much left in the bottle so they sent someone for a fresh bottle so she got a good pour... 15 minutes after she ordered and was done eating). I wanted to like the place and may give them another try - sounds like we had a bad combination of oven issues and worst waitress ever - but not a great way experience for our anniversary dinner.

My family had a variable experience here so I'm breaking it down in detail with added opinions about different dishes: Service: 2 The service left something to be desired. Our server seemed like she didn't like us and perhaps this was the reason she came off as unhelpful. At one point when we were ordering apps and asking dinner questions, she seemed to just walk away before my mom could ask about an app she was interested in. It was awkward. Atmosphere: 3 Cute little space but pretty crowded together and relatively loud. Simple tablescape. Bathrooms were clean. Bread: 3 We were excited for focaccia but it wasn't really focaccia-like. Despite this, it was yummy with good flavor. The garlic butter was amazing. Drinks: 3 Wine was good, but how do you mess that up? Coke was good and bubbly. Sangria was a good flavor but no fruit. Dragon fruit margarita with mezcal wasn't smoky at all and tasted kind of like watery juice. Apps: 3 Pretzel was yummy but that's a pretzel. Cheesy sauce was delicious. Caesar salad tasted good... but the presentation... we knew we were in for it. The dressing on top looked like squirted Mayo (see picture). Entrees: 3 The burger was ordered medium well and came out WELL done. It was quite a big bite. Fries were very good. Flatbread was loaded with cheese so it overwhelmed the vegetables. Tasted fine. The cod was one of the best dishes of the night. Nice and crispy on the outside with a delicious sauce and soft potatoes. The veg on the side was a nice addition. The shrimp scampi was good. Shrimp was cooked well and pasta was good. Nothing earth shattering but a solid dish. Desserts: 4.5 The chocolate torte was really good. The truffles on the side were okay. The gelato was very good. Coffee was a good flavor and not too watery. Summary: Average food but charging high-end prices. Wouldn't go back unless a friend invited me and was paying.

What a treat and somewhat of a hidden gem find. Restaurant is relatively small and tight but the exterior is a charming house like aesthetic. Service is phenomenal and makes you feel special. Food was great as we had brunch, burger was cooked so well. Omelette was so large and filling.

    Old Fashion

My first time at this local place. I sat at the bar relaxing having a cocktail. The place was not too loud, just friends enjoying themselves. I had an Old Fashion which was made to perfection. Next the Tuna Tartar. FABULOUS then the Pear Arugula salad. Another Excellent choice. Dessert consisted of the butter bourbon Old Fashion. Food and atmosphere was upscale with a local home feeling. The bartender Andrew was very accommodating and discussed mixology. A very fun evening.

Stopped by on a Tuesday night for dinner. Walked in, and the restaurant was very busy, but the host was able to sit us immediately at the bar. The atmosphere appeared very new, clean and stylish/simple. The bartender was very nice and answered all of our questions. The food arrived at the perfect temperature and was very flavorful. The price to food ratio was good. I will be coming back go this restaurant Not to sure about the parking situation - for a Tuesday night I just found easy street parking. I didn't look into it too much but there may or may not have parking

Burger - A burger with a toasted bun, beef patty, lettuce, and other toppings, served with fries, ketchup, and potato wedges at Elsie's Table.

Elsie's Table Had dinner at Elsie's Table in Canton tonight. It was very good. Started with their onion soup which is one of the best I've had. Very rich and flavorful, not overly salty. Then the burger made out of filet - two patties, carmelized onions, cheese, etc. Followed by strawberry meringue pie. (No pie pictures). Everything was delicious, couldn't finish anything! Definitely a place to try!

French toast and a side of eggs

I relocated to this area a few months ago and have struggled to find a decent brunch spot that wasn't overpriced. I almost missed this little gem hidden in plain site on the main road in Canton. First, the restaurant is small but the layout is cozy and relatively quiet given the space even with a descent size crowd. This is wonderful for brunch because how annoying is it to be in a crowded loud space for what is supposed to be a relaxing meal. I was also able to sit immediately even though it was 12:30 on a Sunday. I am a fan of not having to wait for a table. The decor is modern with classic flair and the combination of natural light with subtle ambient lighting within again adds to the appeal of this space. Of course what you really want to know about is the food. I decided to keep it simple since this was my first time here and went with a classic breakfast staple, French Toast and added a side of scrambled eggs. The French toast was delicious it was crispy, encrusted by what I assume was a cinnamon sugar dip but remained soft inside. The slices were topped with fresh berries and served with whipped cream and syrup on the side. I love syrup on French Toast but barely use. It because the preparation of this with that yummy crust was perfection. The scrambled eggs were cooked well not runny or over cooked but as a side portion I was shocked it was so large. I ordered a simple breakfast but really was impressed and stuffed by the end. The only drawback for me with this restaurant is the parking but I really don't hold that against them. The hostess and my server were friendly and I will definitely return.

It was achingly cold outside, and the bar was absolutely packed, so I was seated in a somewhat remote corner. I ordered a mojito, but they were out of mint, so I chose a scotch, and immediately ordered an onion soup to start, which was decent, but not as hot as I would have liked, and the broth was a bit one dimensional (clearly, it was made too quickly without the complexity of caramelized onions). I soon learned that the particular seafood entrees (2 in particular) were sold out, and I ended up with a salad (kind of unremarkable, but again, not inedible). The problem is that I ended up abandoned by the waitress, so no desserts, no additional drinks, and no check. I literally had to wander about the restaurant for at least 5 to 10 minutes just to ask for someone (anyone!) to bring me a check, which eventually arrived. On my way out, I told the hostess that they should try to keep an eye on patrons, as (if I were not of some moral principles) one could simply leave without paying. Her classic response was "yeah, we're real busy." I refrained from telling her "all the more reason to keep a watchful eye," as it was clear she wasn't listening.

We got: BUFFALO WINGS Crispy, saucy, and full of classic buffalo flavor. A solid start and exactly what you expect from a sports bar style wing. FRIED MOZZARELLA Golden and crunchy on the outside with warm cheese inside. Tasty overall, though it did not have that dramatic cheese pull. Still a fun appetizer. SHRIMP COCKTAIL Chilled, fresh, and served with a bright cocktail sauce. Simple and satisfying. BOURBON STEAK TIPS Served with mashed potatoes and vegetables and the flavor on the steak tips was incredible. Tender, juicy, and coated in a rich bourbon glaze that really stood out. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the vegetables were a nice fresh touch. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. BURGER A classic burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and bacon. Very good flavor and cooked well. It came with a side of fries that had great potential, but were not very crisp and leaned a little too greasy and soft. PAN SEARED SALMON A nicely cooked piece of salmon with good flavor and a tender texture. A lighter option that still felt satisfying. Overall a good lunch here with plenty of variety and a comfortable atmosphere. Perfect place to watch a game and enjoy a relaxed meal.

The weather, the beer, the food and a fun barmaid in a wood paneled pub are all single qualifies that makes me harken back to my past, living in London and then in North Wales in the 1980s. And the other patrons, Americans all, still were like an American version of an English pub crowd. There were young and old, posh business types, sitting next to manual laborers.. The barmaid (whose name was known by most of the regulars there, although I have forgotten it (alas I must be getting old!) is a pistol. Always chatting and joking, while she poured pints, and even Bells scotch, which is a standard blend found in just about every pub in England. The only sense that was missing was the ubiquitous scent of wood (oak) found in almost all of the pubs in Britain. That unmistakable scent you can find in the many old (generally Irish) pubs around Faneuil Hall, btw. When I asked the barmaid (always smiling and laughing) about the fish n chips, she gave a wink and said "ooh, Love. Ya picked the best day for that. The fish is delivered from the dock every Wednesday." I ordered a pint of Smithwicks ale to enjoy at the bar, as she took my order for fish n chips. She leaned forward and whispered to me, somewhat conspiratorially, that it's served with salad, as the owner has not yet found a coleslaw recipe that meets his standards. Very evocative again. I watched, listened and drank my ale deeply, as the barmaid described another barmaid as "so wonderful, the only thing missing is there should be two of her!" We all nodded and laughed. Fun place. The fish n chips arrived hot, very fresh and perfectly crunchy with beer batter. The chips (fries) were hand cut, as you could see the small bits of potato skin at the ends. Served with a very attractive and crunchy salad, and of course malt vinegar, it was a bargain at a lower price than the $20+ charged at many local watering holes. I ordered another pint, and then dug in. It was very fresh and somewhat thick piece cod. The flesh of the fish separates into large fleshy flakes under the crispy beer batter, and the chips had flavor (as opposed to the more common extruded fries usually found here). But it's more than just the food and the bar. The atmosphere at this pub is so very real--sort of the best aspects of some nice neighborhood cozy pubs in Britain. If it's cold outside, you can just shamble in, and rub your hands together and mutter "lovely" as you savor your drink and food. Welcome!
