There were six of us for dinner. Food: 3.5-4/5 Service: 3.5/5 One waitress was responsible for too many tables, so service was slow and she wasn't available when we needed her. Atmosphere: 3.5/5 The noise level on the evening we visited was reasonable. One thing that stood out was the tap water, which had a strong chlorine taste. A simple water filtration system would make a noticeable difference. I suspect that many people (like us) are currently visiting because of the excitement and media attention surrounding the restaurant's opening. The real test will be whether first-time diners choose to come back. Based on our experience, I'm not convinced the overall value for the price will be enough to build a loyal base of returning customers.

Much enjoyed and menu items unique not found elsewhere. Nice family that cooks, hosts and manages the restaurant.

soo good, amazing! everything was to die for! we went for our anniversary (41) and were blown away. you have to go, it's so worth it! the Fli and cookies were out of this world. We also enjoyed the branzino(fish) and the lamb chops.

    Busy on Thursday

Really great! Everything is so flavorful and the options are a lot different than anything else in the area. We went on opening night and have been back twice since (takeout last night). The various pies are really good (meat and onion was our favorite, spinach and feta is good, cheese and yogurt our least favorite). We've had a few appetizers too (all good). Dishes we've tried (and liked) included... MINCED BEEF STEW WITH RICE - got this twice and loved it both times STIL TIRANE - super flavorful and great with their homemade bread SHORT RIBS - got this last night and after adding a little salt it was terrific (super tender) MEDITERRANEAN MEAT DUMPLINGS - I loved these (tried last night) and will definitely get again It was good to see them really full last night (a Thursday). Looking forward to coming back soon.

The reviews for this place caught my eye as I do like Mediterranean Turkish cuisine. I noticed that they had standard fare as well as lots of veggie and vegetarian options on their menu. I decided to run in quickly with my order for a beef gyro as well as an eggplant gyro. My first impression was that the place is cute casual and clean. The friendly staff member took my order and after a short wait, I was given a neatly packaged small shopping bag. I appreciated the disposable plates and utensils that were included without my asking, and am always iffy about eating on the go. I am not a fan of messy so there is that haha. Let me just say that I was completely satisfied with my gyros as they tasted great. They also added a nice amount of tzatziki sauce just as requested yum. It was delish, so much so that I scarfed it down without taking any pictures. This was indeed an enjoyable late lunch!

I went with the grape leaves as my side and grabbed a Smartwater. Simple and a solid value. Let's start with the pita, because I'm a texture nut and this thing was perfect, slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The gyro itself was packed, literally spilling out with filling, and was super flavorful. I'll admit I went in expecting the typical lamb/beef, so the pork caught me off guard. Turns out after doing some reading on the inter-webs, pork is actually the authentic Greek preparation and the lamb/beef is the more Turkish/American take on it. Either way, one bite and I was a convert. The grape leaves were everything you want them to be; briny, punchy, and packed with filling. No complaints there. As for the ambiance, another reviewer put it best: "I wouldn't take my first date here." Fair enough. But for a quick, no-fuss lunch? It was perfect. Between 12 and 1 this place was absolutely jamming, with barely a seat to spare, which should tell you something. Not to mention I heard the staff greet many people by name. I'll be back, and next time I'm bringing my partner. She loves Greek food and this place deserves a proper visit.

But the gyro meat was surprisingly bacony and fattier than I expected. They had a nice selection of fruit sodas that I hadn't seen anywhere else. Currently closed till 7/2024 according to Yelp…read more But late 2022, we finally got the chance to try Fairouz's $43 Mixed Grill Plate (chicken, beef, shrimp (4 count), lamb, kafta (ground beef and lamb), served with rice, salad (simply lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes, and two portions of oil based dressing), garlic dip & hummus dip), to go. Everything came well packed, with the salad in a large plastic clam shell, two little sauce containers of each dip, two ziplock baggies of pita triangles, napkins, plastic ware, all sitting on the aluminum foil covered tray of meat and rice. Since I had been enticed by Bea's photo of this dish, I was a little disappointed at the lack of grilled vegetables. But there was salad and upon reflection, the menu made no mention of such veggies, so perhaps there's been changes over time? The rice received props from this household, and wonder at how it was flavored. The meat, though medium to well done, was tender enough, and the lamb lacked that gaminess that the non-lamb-eater among us so dislikes. The kafta and shrimp were the most strongly seasoned proteins of the bunch, and the shrimp rather juicy. Both hummus and garlic dip were good, but the garlic is indeed strong with the latter, so spread with a light hand. You can always add more to taste after all. The worst that could be said was that I wished that there had been more tomatoes in the salad, and if only they had not split the pita triangles. Pitas without their pockets are rather tougher to enjoy as self made mini sandwich bundles of all the good flavors and textures. I hope they see this and reconsider.

They do offer outdoor seating but given that it was slightly drizzling and extremely windy, we stayed inside. We sat at the bar and I ordered Nick's world famous cocktail ($18) while she ordered the afterglow ($20). Nick's was a little thick and almost had the consistency of a puree. It was not too strong or sweet but still fruity tasting. Instead of a garnish, there was a picture of a Nick clothe pinned to the side. We weren't too hungry, so we ordered a couple of small plates: the tuna tartare and the feta 2.0. This place is actually perfect for snacking / light meals since their menu is a modern take on "Meze," or small shareable plates (think tapas). The tuna tartare was incredible. The fish, cucumbers and tomatoes tasted very fresh, but the star of the show was definitely the sauce which I think was a mixture of ponzu, togarashi, and cilantro tzatziki. It was spicy, but slightly creamy, but very herby and light. I loved that the pita chips were crispy; they paired well with the dish and they brought out a good ratio of chips to tartare. The feta cheese was also good. It was wrapped in crispy phyllo and topped with honey and sesame seeds. The honey provided a slight sweetness but not enough to overpower the salty and sharp taste of the fresh feta. This plate does not come with anything which was kind of odd so we asked for pita on the side. I wish we had asked for warm pita, or baked pita because it was a little dry. I was impressed with the flavors and quality of each dish as well as the attention of the servers and staff. There's a relaxed vibe as the lights are dim and interior design is classy.
