Signature Cup, gourmet chocolate filled with nuts and dates. Topped with a heart shaped fig.

I've been driving an hour to West Roxbury to see my chiropractor once a week and my husband and I recently discovered this great little restaurant, Bread Thyme. Gabi is the chef creating delectable Lebanese dishes. Everything is incredible, this is the epitome of fresh and clean food. I have never had Lebanese food before and Gabi loves to take the time to explain his dishes. We've been here a few times and I try to taste something new each time. Today I got a Caesar salad with Kafka on top, which was great, and my husband got the Chicken Shawarma wrap which he loves. We always get the bread, and today it was fresh out of the oven and still warm. Amazing! Gabi's wife, Joelle, makes these amazing gourmet chocolates. Today we tried their Signature Cup filled with nuts and dates, topped with a heart made out of fig. It was delicious. If you're ever in the West Roxbury area this restaurant is a must try!

    Yummy pita!

We highly recommend Bread Thyme! My husband and I shared the falafel plate and an order of zaatar-- one seeded and one cheese. Everything was delicious!! I should have asked for extra hummus but instead I tried some homemade tahini sauce and hot sauce that added a nice kick to our meal. We met the owner and his nephew visiting from Australia who took our order, served us and introduced us to the rest of the family. We grabbed some baklava to go and the owner surprised us with a generous portion of their homemade pita bread. Highly recommend this great neighborhood spot, wish it stayed open later!

I'm almost hesitant to write this review. Why? Because I'm scared Bread Thyme will simply become too popular if people find out how amazing the food is and how sweet the owners/employees are. If you've been looking for a real deal Mediterranean/Middle Eastern spot this is it. Cute but smaller cafe with green everywhere, it's wonderfully cozy. I'll start with the most impressive thing ever... fresh Baklava! Not store bought and resold, actually fresh baked baklava among other tasty middle eastern treats! And they were good... so good. I really went crazy and ordered a fair bit of the small and well curated menu. The wraps are enormous to start, simply huge. You could easily make two meals out of them. The chicken shawarma wrap had plenty of tender chicken but a good mix of vegetables and sauce that created a good balance of flavor and texture. The Falafel wrap was similarly amazing, and the falafel was well made! It is so rare to find well done falafel in the US so this is quite notable. My only gripe is that I wish you could just order some falafel on its own maybe with some hummus or labneh. The Za'tar bread was so good. Like crazy good. Bread was clearly freshly baked there which come on! Thank you! I wish more restaurants had the care to make their own doughs. I did not ask but I am 95% sure they are also making their own Za'tar mix. A mix wish I hope they sell in the future because it was some of the best Za'tar I've ever had. The notes were so bright and not muted like most imported mass produced Za'tar. Call me crazy but please go try the Za'tar and tell me for yourself. The Tabouli was phenomenal, very fresh cilantro, great citrus notes, and good tomatoes. Simple but really well executed. I just wish the portion was slightly bigger (the portion is fair size, but it was just really good and I wanted more). The employees/owners are super sweet Lebanese family. They were happy to chat and suggest things and answer questions and were so clearly passionate and excited about what they were making/serving. I really hope they are there when I come back. Prices - surprisingly fair. Coming from downtown Boston I've gotten use to $15 or even $20 for a wrap (it's crazy). Here the most expensive wrap was $10.50. When considering the size of the wraps too, this is one of the best value props I've found with good food in the greater Boston area hands down. 5 stars -will return most definitely. I want to emphasize the 5 stars, I rarely rate a full 5 stars. I consider a restaurant to be top 5% essentially at 5 stars. Bread Thyme is the real deal and worth a visit for anyone looking to try some authentic Lebanese/Mediterranean food.

Everything we ate at this place was delicious. I loved the salad, the dressing is something i never…read moretaste before Plus an excellent customer service. Definitely will come back!

Currently closed till 7/2024 according to Yelp…read more But late 2022, we finally got the chance to try Fairouz's $43 Mixed Grill Plate (chicken, beef, shrimp (4 count), lamb, kafta (ground beef and lamb), served with rice, salad (simply lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes, and two portions of oil based dressing), garlic dip & hummus dip), to go. Everything came well packed, with the salad in a large plastic clam shell, two little sauce containers of each dip, two ziplock baggies of pita triangles, napkins, plastic ware, all sitting on the aluminum foil covered tray of meat and rice. Since I had been enticed by Bea's photo of this dish, I was a little disappointed at the lack of grilled vegetables. But there was salad and upon reflection, the menu made no mention of such veggies, so perhaps there's been changes over time? The rice received props from this household, and wonder at how it was flavored. The meat, though medium to well done, was tender enough, and the lamb lacked that gaminess that the non-lamb-eater among us so dislikes. The kafta and shrimp were the most strongly seasoned proteins of the bunch, and the shrimp rather juicy. Both hummus and garlic dip were good, but the garlic is indeed strong with the latter, so spread with a light hand. You can always add more to taste after all. The worst that could be said was that I wished that there had been more tomatoes in the salad, and if only they had not split the pita triangles. Pitas without their pockets are rather tougher to enjoy as self made mini sandwich bundles of all the good flavors and textures. I hope they see this and reconsider.
