Fideos with clams and saffron. This recipe came out perfect thanks to the fish market. The clams popped like cherry tomatoes.

I am really glad the Roslindale Fish Market is here. This place is a great supplement to my weekly grocery shopping trip because big chains and non-specialty stores don't get seafood this fresh. I recently made fideos with clams and saffron using clams from here, and the quality was unbeatable. They genuinely popped like cherry tomatoes when I chewed them. A couple tips. Bring cash; card isn't accepted. I wish they would accept card too, but this place has been here since before I was born. Respect. If you want something specific, call a few days ahead. Fish don't know you want to cook them in advance, so the market will need a heads up when you want fresh ingredients. Plan ahead. It's worth it! There's a lot of international chocolate for sale. Come with a full stomach. They are hard to resist.

Scallops purchased from Rosi Fish Market - within an hour, I was eating this!

You go to the supermarket, you get scallops, you pay mostly for water. You go to the Rosi Fish Market? You get thick, beautiful scallops that don't shrivel down to nothing when you cook them. That alone is worth the four stars! The fish is fresh, the people are kind and accommodating, the prices are market prices, and they have, like 7 different kinds of feta. Call ahead of time for the freshest batch of fish, or to make sure they aren't sold out!

Oh do I love olives! Extending an olive branch may be a fine gesture, but extending an olive branch flush with olives would be much finer. Roslindale Fish Market is a small Greek market adjacent Roslindale Square. Though a previous reviewer has good things to say, I've never purchased fish here - I come for the olives. You'll find eight 5 gallon drums brimming with these delicious fruits (they do have a pit). Kalamatas of various sizes, pitted and un, green Greeks, and Alfonso's from Chile. Despite their unorthodox packaging, they are fresher and cheaper than what you'll find in the supermarket.

Cookies, salt, and hazelnut spread, all for less than $9

I guess different people come here for different things. I like trying new products from Greece. The Cin cookies were awesome and the chocolate cream cookies in the blue wrapper were tasty too. That hazelnut spread is a great alternative to Nutella. It's like Nutella without the chocolate so you can really taste the hazelnut flavor. Recently, I bought a 3 liter can of extra virgin olive oil, imported from Crete, for $19, on special. That is an awesome deal if you consider that a half liter of the Goya brand usually goes for about $7 or so. I think the stuff from Crete tastes better too! The lady at the shop said it's a little stronger than the other can that was on sale. At some point, I want to try the fish.

Typical selection of top-quality produce at Roslindale Fish Market.

Excellent local shop with Greek specialties. Fresh wild caught fish selection. Also a grocery store for limited goods.

Seafood boil sounded good and this place was a few minutes away. During lunch time on a Saturday, we arrived and there was only one other party in the place. It was super quiet. We were seated promptly and provided some pop corn. The place has unique decor in that there is customer writing all over their walls! Our server was okay, and answered our questions and took our order. We went with the Snow crabs with green mussels. You get 1lb of each, versus their A/B/C platters which may contain less of some of what you want. It was fine as we were gonna spend over $60 and would get 1/2 lb of shrimp for free anyways. The seafood boil bag was ordered with their shaking sauce mild. It was not spicy at all, had really good flavor but definitely on the salty side, IMHO. It was still enjoyable. When you leave you'll be dying of thirst. The seafood was cooked well, with most of the snow crab legs able to crack open. There was just enough sauce for everything in the bag. I'd say it was a 7/10 rating. The fried calamari plate with sweet potato fries was okay. Nothing special, and definitely edible. I'd give this a 7/10 rating again. The lemon pepper wings were tiny, but at least girthy (given their size). Flavor was good and cooked perfectly and came out so hot and fresh. I'd give them a 7/10 rating, would be higher if the wings were even normal sized. Overall, it was a decent meal. It satisfied a craving. The restaurant is comfortable and clean. There was decent parking options outside on the street.

I've been to their other location in Franklin, NH which opened back in September 2023 and enjoyed great food at reasonable prices. They are also opening another location in Providence too. Maaz's Chicken serves up fried chicken, sandwiches, gyros, burgers, rice platters, fried seafood, appetizers, salads, desserts, and cooler drinks (Pepsi products/Gatorade). The prices here seem reasonable. They offer takeout and online delivery through DoorDash. I ordered online DD pickup on my way over to Maaz's. Parking on the street was not an issue late night close to Maaz's. My order was bagged and ready to go when I arrived. I had to show my phone and confirm pickup to receive my order. More restaurants should do this for all online pickups and Dasher pickups to prevent stolen orders. Anyways, I ordered the 2 pc Fried Whiting Fish over Rice ($10.50 plus tax) and a Jamaican Beef Patty ($3.25 plus tax) for my late night dinner. The portions were good for the price. The box was filled with 2 long pieces of breaded fried whiting fish over a soft golden long grain rice, Ken's tartar sauce cups on the side. The good sized Jamaican Beef Patty had soft seasoned ground beef filling in a soft pastry shell. The food was hot, tasty and spot on for my late night food stop.
