We went here today for the first time. It seems more and more pastry shops, close on Sunday. It was nice to see this place open. We only got a few things, pizza and cookies. Both items were delicious and we will go back The woman who rang us up, was pleasant and informative. The place was clean and had lots to choose from

Lebanese traditional breakfast: Manoushe Zaatar & Cheese

If you are near the Boston area and want authentic Lebanese / Middle Eastern desserts; breakfast zaatar manoushe, and quality goods from the region ..this is the place to go! While there Stop next door for a chicken shawarma sandwhich at To Beirut. The workers there are delightful, family owned pretty sure!

Bought 2 containers of stuffed grape leaves here. No prices listed for any prepared foods. They won't tell you when you ask, it just rings up at the cash register. It was $24 dollars. I bought it because I drove here from Quincy. I'm going to Sabb market next time. If you ask anyone here a question they're really mean to you. I came here with my friend who is Lebanese and they were mean to her too!! WHOA From cashier to the owner to the man behind the pastry counter are all rude AF. They literally act annoyed that you're asking them a question. Like you're a beggar asking for change. Come here if you don't mind being treated like straight SHIT. F... this place. I won't even consider going to their restaurant next door if that's how you treat someone who you don't have to wait on. I was there was a zero star cuz one is being generous.

Don't waste your money buying their moldy Syrian bread that they will tell you came in fresh that day. They only care about their little restaurant which has the worst food as well. Food made with beef not lamb. Shame on you people. I will never go back.

There is almost nothing here that you would find in a normal supermarket, and that's OK by Me ! It is exactly what makes it a very good ethnic market ( Lebanese / Middle Eastern / Mediterranean ). Things I love about this market: Cheap Chicken and Beef Sharwarma sandwiches, the best in the area. Perfect for lunch. The best rice and lentils I have had, with caramelized onions on top. Makes a great meal with tabouleh and kafta. Reasonably priced Olive Bar. Fresh ground beef, lamb, homemade sausages, and marinated meats. Interesting Mediterranean cheeses (kept in liquid similar to fresh mozzarella). One of the best things is that it's authentic; it feels foreign when you enter the doors. The market is run by a nice Lebanese family who is always there working, willing to explain things, and treat regulars as friends.

I usually stop in for my favorite snack, the veggie grape leaves, which are always so fresh and flavorful. This visit, I spotted something new pre-made called masaka, and it looked amazing. I took it home, sautéed it up, and added some quinoa I had on hand, along with the veggie grape leaves. What a perfect, hearty meal! What keeps me coming back besides the incredible food, is how friendly everyone is, whether at the restaurant or at the farmers market. I have a very sensitive stomach and multiple allergies, and I'm so grateful that I can always enjoy Markouk Bread's food and still feel great afterward. Highly recommend to anyone looking for fresh, flavorful Lebanese food and a welcoming atmosphere!

Steak Kabob Wrap: I ordered the medium well, and it was noticeably overcooked. My colleague who ordered the medium also well agreed But regardless, the freshly grilled steak was still quite aromatic. The ingredients were all fresh; the rich and creamy hummus, the sweet and sour tomatoes, and the crisp and refreshing cucumber were all wrapped in the markouk. Markouk flatbreads are grilled daily, thin, smooth, and chewy, much better than pita or lavash in my first impression. Chicken Kabob Wrap: Their signature dish. The chicken breast was still juicy. The owner is very familiar with the whale watching boat schedule and will tell you if you have time to eat before boarding. It has a 4.9 rating on Google Maps, but the food isn't nearly as good as it seems; after all, it's just a wrap, and it probably benefits from the whale watching reputation.

Currently closed till 7/2024 according to Yelp…read more But late 2022, we finally got the chance to try Fairouz's $43 Mixed Grill Plate (chicken, beef, shrimp (4 count), lamb, kafta (ground beef and lamb), served with rice, salad (simply lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes, and two portions of oil based dressing), garlic dip & hummus dip), to go. Everything came well packed, with the salad in a large plastic clam shell, two little sauce containers of each dip, two ziplock baggies of pita triangles, napkins, plastic ware, all sitting on the aluminum foil covered tray of meat and rice. Since I had been enticed by Bea's photo of this dish, I was a little disappointed at the lack of grilled vegetables. But there was salad and upon reflection, the menu made no mention of such veggies, so perhaps there's been changes over time? The rice received props from this household, and wonder at how it was flavored. The meat, though medium to well done, was tender enough, and the lamb lacked that gaminess that the non-lamb-eater among us so dislikes. The kafta and shrimp were the most strongly seasoned proteins of the bunch, and the shrimp rather juicy. Both hummus and garlic dip were good, but the garlic is indeed strong with the latter, so spread with a light hand. You can always add more to taste after all. The worst that could be said was that I wished that there had been more tomatoes in the salad, and if only they had not split the pita triangles. Pitas without their pockets are rather tougher to enjoy as self made mini sandwich bundles of all the good flavors and textures. I hope they see this and reconsider.
