Burrito bowl very fresh and delicious!
    Irina V.

First time ordering here. All ingredients are very fresh and delicious. I recommend this place to my friends.

This new place is a great place for takeout burritos! It's brand new and is decorated nicely. I had the chicken burrito and my friends had other burritos. Everyone loved the food. The people behind the counter (the owners, I believe) were there and helpful with questions. As you walk down the line you get to pick what goes into you burritos similar to chipotle.

They forgot one of the burritos in my order. A $15.00 burrito. The burritos were fine, but not well organized obviously.

It seems to be a takeout only place, we walked in and there were no tables or chairs, only the ordering counter and the kitchen in the back.

I looked around and its very quaint seating at the bar and booths around. I would assume there is outside seating during the spring and summer months. I ordered the Fajita Chimichanga (chicken). There doesn't seem to be an area to sit if you are waiting for take out or at least I wasn't offered a place to sit, no biggie on my part. I was pleasantly surprised how quick my food was brought out by, I think, the manager or owner? Also very friendly. So friendly in fact that when he initially came out he went over to every person in the restaurant and greeted them personally. (It was quite early in the day around 11:45 not a whole lot of people there, but still a very nice thing to do) I got my food brought it back to my office. I was shocked how big the portion was The chimichanga was large and came with refried beans, rice and lettuce, a small side of guac and sour cream AND a small lunch bag full with chips and a small container of salsa. It tasted amazing, now I'm a big guy and can certainly eat and I couldn't finish without feeling like a Macy's thanksgiving day parade balloon!! LOL Now, I won't lie, it was expensive for me at $19.50+tip its very rare that I spend THAT much on lunch for myself alone so I wont be doing that again soon BUT Needless to say it was delicious and when I do go back I will eat in to get the full dining experience.

While he was waiting they offered to comp our meal. Thank you for making it right! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! I ordered delivery from sombreros this evening. The mark up for ordering online was exorbitant. Then, when the delivery arrived all that was in the bag was chips and salsa. The delivery driver said it was the restaurants fault and we had to call the restaurant. I called the restaurant and they said they would re-fire the order. When my husband got there to pick it up they told him that it was the delivery drivers fault and they would not re fire the food. This is a huge scam. They stole $100 from me. I was a loyal customer, but I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I will order from Wonder right next door instead.

This spot is such a gem. STREET CORN We got two and they were incredible. Sweet corn coated in creamy sauce spices and cheese. Messy in the best way and full of flavor in every bite. Absolutely delicious. SMOTHERED BURRITO Black beans carne asada veggies lettuce and hot sauce all wrapped up and then smothered in salsa verde and salsa roja. This was phenomenal. So saucy so flavorful and perfectly balanced. The carne asada was tender and the sauces soaked right into the tortilla. Loved this so much. INTERNATIONAL TACO COMBO Flour tacos with cilantro lime rice and we chose cajun shrimp pork belly and fried fish. Every taco had its own flavor profile and they were all amazing. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly with a little kick the pork belly was rich and tender and the fried fish was crispy with great texture. So good. INTERNATIONAL TACO COMBO Our second combo came with mango habanero shrimp cajun shrimp and pork belly. The mango habanero shrimp was sweet spicy and juicy and the shrimp itself tasted super fresh. Another great mix of flavors. Loved this variety. FRIED FISH TACOS We ordered two extra and these did not disappoint. Crispy fried fish inside warm flour tortillas with red cabbage for crunch. Light fresh and so satisfying. YUCCA FRIES These were addictively good. Crispy outside soft inside and perfect for dipping. A great side to all the bold flavors. Everything we ordered was flavorful fresh and clearly made with care. Portions are generous and the menu has so many fun options to mix and match. La Taqueria absolutely impressed me and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you want delicious takeout that hits the spot every time.

TACOS MECHADOS Braised short rib, pickled cabbage, avocado, crema fresca, pico de gallo, flour tortilla. Flavorful and generously filled. The short rib was tender and the toppings added a nice balance. BIRRIA TACOS Beef birria on crisp grilled tortillas with grilled corn, onion, shredded cheese, radish, cilantro. The flavors were bold, but they were a little too salty for my liking. The rice and beans that came with it were amazing though. The Mexican rice was honestly the best I have ever had. SHRIMP CEVICHE Made with cucumber, tomato, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, avocado, yucca crisp. Fresh and bright, but definitely could have used more shrimp. It felt a little too heavy on the vegetables. Despite a few things I would tweak, it was a nice night overall. The staff made the experience warm and the portions were generous.

The food was decent. I don't think it was bad, nor do I think it was outstanding, but it was good. I had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce, which was kind of spicy. I've never had a spicy mole sauce, so I didn't expect it, and the menu description does not specify any spice levels, so it was kind of disappointing because I don't really like very spicy food. I would call it a mild spice, which is fine, but just unexpected. My wife and kids shared the chicken fajitas, and they didn't have any complaints. Again, nothing out of this world, but overall decent food. The chips were good, and I loved the salsas that came with them. We also ordered a side of queso which was OK. Here's what really made the meal not as good as it could have been: the service. Our server was very nice, but also very slow. It was not busy, but it took her a long time to really do anything that we requested. The reason being that after she would leave our table, she'd go toward the front of the restaurant to socialize and hang out with two of her work friends. I'm all for socializing at work, but at least do your job first! For example, we ordered more chips. I watched her carry the chips out of the kitchen to her socializing spot, where she stayed for several minutes, before bringing them to our table. We had to ask the food server, who was way more attentive, for an additional place setting because our server didn't do it when we asked her. In fact, every other employee appeared to actually be working efficiently aside from our server. So, overall, it's a nice place with decent food, but our server kind of ruined the mood for us. I don't have any plans to return here but I can see it being a nice spot to hang out.

I don't know how it has two 5 stars reviews as of this posting. The place is small and not a great ambiance for a nice dinner. It was hot as hell in there and over run with kids that looked like family the day we ordered. They were behind the register, in the common area & at tables. The price was insane for typical Latin dishes that were greasy, salty, and very unsatisfying. Most went in the trash. The rice was bland with vegetables resembling fried rice from a Chinese restaurant. It was so moist and greasy, the pork/chicharron had a strange aftertaste like it was old. The beans were ok but still needed flavor. Plantains were cut thin and not sweat like the typical ripe plantain. The skirt steak was edible and actually had decent flavor. The pupusa was artery clogging and I regret eating even half of one. A kid took the order & cooked some of the meal. He left out a few items from the order. Luckily I asked because when he said we were all set, I knew something was def missing. Had to wait another 15-20 mins more. I already spent about 30 minutes which turned to 45 mins total) waiting for take out with an empty store. That's insane...I'd steer far away if you want Spanish food that's done on a much higher level and won't break the bank. Don't say you weren't warned if decide to try this place.
