I am no longer a customer of Minas. I have spent hundreds of dollars and asked for a small donation to support a long time resident of Norwood/ Walpole aka John L foundation golf tournament at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton June 2026. Minas Cafe refused to donate a gift card for a raffle. So disrespectful and unprofessional. John was a college sociology and business major involved in urban community service and interested in social work. He was a high school student leader, a class officer, and a student representative to the School Committee, Governance Council and the MA Dept. of Education. John was a high school athlete who played basketball and soccer; he was the Captain of WHS Varsity basketball. John received many awards: Boy's State, Outstanding Service Award, and Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators Association Student Achievement Award for School Leadership. He was the recipient of the Lorusso and Rossi Scholarships. ​ More important than his many accomplishments, John has been described by many as an exemplary human being, who was kind, caring and sensitive beyond his years. He made everyone feel as though they were his best friend. As a lover of music, particularly jam bands and unique artists, he was well known for copying lyrics and songs for the enjoyment of family and friends. John's sense of humor, easy going disposition and warm smile charmed everyone. Still everyday, he is a love and inspiration for his family. My friend and I were in for lunch for the first time today. It's a large open space with floor to ceiling windows facing the parking lot allowing light into the dining area. This is a self-service buffet style cafe for most of the food. You take your place off a stack and service yourself. We each took rice, carrots, lettuce and beans. At the end of this short line, there are meat carvers and servers who will service you your meat choices at any degree of cooking: rare, medium rare, etc. Alice had chicken, and I had beef and sausage. Once your place is filled to your choosing at the meat station, it's weighed, and you're presented with a hand-written receipt with the cost. We ate very well for very little money. Our foods were delicious. There are beverages and a bar. We arrived at Noon with approximately 10 other people at tables. By 1pm there were at least 30 people eating. I formed the impression that many were regulars. The staff are very friendly, and this has to be one of most economical and delicious meals I've had this year. We both plan to return. read more

Great lunch spot for healthy salad, veggies and dah meats . Brazilian style Meats sliced off hot the grill per the pound price . I had some sirloin , 2 chicken wings, and talked into some beef and bacon by the grill guy... Sirloin nice, tender, wings usually excellent.. these were small pigeon size , the bacon wrapped beef he talked me into the bacon wrapped meat well cooked to inedible.... Lesson learned is don't accept suggestions as he knew he had to move the slow moving burnt meat before it feeds his dogs... Usually excellent here, this was very good except the beef in bacon... my bad as should have stuck to my normal items... Help and employees all pleasant, 12.86 and add a soda still a decent lunch... they have someone keeping the tables cleaned and moving , all good here... the tar weight with plate vs styrofoam container and final price a mystery... how much per lb? How much weight? All loaded on plate is per lb price... a heavy potato item costs same as sirloin... The food was great. It was per pound so I got a lil of every meat I wanted. The service is nice and simple. They come pick your plates up when you are done. Let you test out the meat if you've never had it. The ambiance is so simple in a good way. Not to much going on. Different variety of music and have TVs going. One for kids as well. This place has great customer service, staff is very friendly and they know what they are doing. My only recommendation is that when someonw asks for medium rare give it them. Medium rare is red in the middle, not brown. read more

This is a really yummy hole in the wall Brazilian bbq place. My husband and I went for take out. It's all by weight with a salad bar, traditional sides like beans and rice and plantains, and then you walk up to the grill to select your meats. I tried chicken hearts, chicken sausage and chicken thighs. My husband got steak, spicy sausage and pork shoulder. The staff were incredibly friendly and the price was super affordable. The food was yummy but a little salty. We got all of this for under $30. This place is no frills but an authentic and delicious meal. read more

The positives: Meats pretty good. The top sirloin steak was VERY good. The garlic steak was a little over cooked for my liking very chewy. They had a lot of meat choices to choose from. Very friendly staffs and clean restaurant. The negatives: Salad bar and pricing The salad bar was not good at all. You could tell the food had been sitting there a while as the things that should have been warm were cold. They were not worth the price. Very confusing pay structure. I had one plate all salad bar stuff got charged $6.99/lb had a plate all meets got charged $11.99/lb. Husband went back to get some top sirloin to go and got charged $12.99 a pound. Others had salad bar and meat on their plate and was being charged $7.99/lb. There appeared to be no rhyme or reason to how they charged people which I did not like at all. I think it would be good if they were more upfront on pricing. My husband went back the next day and they charged $13.99 for the top sirloin. I really don't like that they can just charge you any price they want. I probably will not be back. Maybe will just got to pick up some steaks in the future.s read more

Minas is a family favorite. Everything is delicious. A wide variety of fresh Brazilian meats. It's pay by the pound ($8-$11 feeds me, a big eater) which is better than many of the churruscaría restaurants that charge a flat fee (usually $50-$70) for all-you-can-eat, which usually leaves me regretting my gluttony. I recommend Minas to everyone who asks for restaurants in the area. It's also my kids' favorite restaurant. read more

Can see why people call this place a gem. Down the street for an ice hockey combine always on the lookout for something family run and local. So many positives so here's the only negative could be (wasn't for us) they're a little heavy handed on the salt lol otherwise it's all excellent. No sauces no BS meats cooked over charcoal with Brazilian hospitality. Hot buffet items were hot. Cold ones were cold. Great choices on both sides. And everything is fresh. I took some hot items way too soon in the line got to the table still piping hot. Some have said some cuts are a little more cooked than they would like but with this style of bbq it's unavoidable I got a couple pieces that were def on the well side and I hate well done and they were still juicy and tender and those outside pieces had great bark. Bark on the pork was awesome. We had sirloin brisket and pork. No complaints. Will def return when we're in the area again. Oh and it's everting by the pound. My son and I came in starving ate like pigs lol left full all for $35 try and beat that read more

I just found this place and I already love it! The buffet was great and it had all the Brazilian dishes you'd expect, from the cold potato salad to the rice and beans, fried yucca and lot's of other delicious stews and hot dishes. I also got some of the roasted meats like chicken thighs, pork and spicy sausage. The person cutting the meats was friendly and super fast and the whole staff was very friendly. I hope this review will get the owners attention. The price per pound varies based on the amount of meat you get which is ok but also if you speaks the language or not. They tend to over charge when you don't understand the language. My friend and I got very much similar items and he got more meat. He was charged less than I did. Great grab and go place. The food is Brazilian so flavorful with lots of options. This is one of our go to for a dinner take out. But I've also eaten in for lunch. A cafeteria style restaurant but we're able to have a nice long lunch with no pressure for table. If you can get passed the cafeteria style serving the food is great. read more

Salad bar is basic but ok. Meats are good flavor. I only give 2 star because the pricing is inconsistent. I asked how much for the salad bar with meat the girl told me $6.99 per lb. I have them cut the meat and put on the plate with my veggies and same girl charged me $8.99 per lb. I am writing this review as of my second visit a week later. Figured I would try again as I enjoyed the meats. Got exactly the same veggies & same meats and put on scale and different girl from first visit charged me $10.99 per lb. exact same meal and portion as the last week and $3.00 for same meal. Will try one more time if pricing changes again I think I will give up on returning. Meats are good but I don't like Mickey Mouse pricing system. read more

Amazing family owned restaurant. The meats are over charcoal so they are very tasteful. The place is always super clean and the staff is very friendly. We live about 10 minutes from there and try to go at least every 2 to 3 weeks, our kids really like it. Also if you have a party and you want them to cook they will do it, I done this before. Nice neighborhood Buffet. The menu items on the Buffet change daily and it is charged by the pound. You pay I think 8.99 for the regular salad bar: rice, beans, lettuce, fruit, etc but it also had beef stroganoff and chicken. I think it's 15.99 a pound to add in the fancier grilled meat on the skewers in the back. Easy for takeout or dine in. Prices aren't published anywhere so be sure to ask when you arrive. read more

Amazing! My friend took me here on Labor Day to get some lunch. We decided to do take out which is a pay by weight situation. It's buffet style for the basics like rice, salad, and sides. Then they have all the meat you could think of cooking in the back. I was so overwhelmed with the meat choices, I only grabbed the chicken wrapped in bacon lol. I also got white rice with beans, corn nuggets and "sweet plaintains" (they call it something different). The passion fruit juice was soooo good and sweet.
