I have been a loyal customer for several years and have never had a problem however I will not be coming back to this store for any repairs or otherwise. They charged me twice after telling me that they would not be doing that because of a mistake in the device for transferring data. My MAC was running dreadfully slow and I thought I had a virus. I always drive past TLC and thought I would see what they had to say. Erwin was there to help me out. He informed me how long it may take due to other jobs already in progress. He gave me an idea of a few issues MACs have that cause these symptoms and was very informative. Erwin notified me on progress of my MAC a few days later and what the issues were. When I received my MAC back, it was/is amazingly faster and smoother than when I purchased it. ***UPDATE*** This is my reply to TLC's reply to me. Why wasn't I ever aware of any of the information you claim that has been given to me? No one in there told me any of this important information. No one followed up with me. So was my data retrieved from the external or from the laptop, because first I was told nothing was able to be downloaded from the external hard drive. If there is anything that was saved from the external hard drive, I will go back in to get it all and happily pay for what was able to be saved! But I didn't know that because obviously the wrong information has been given to me. I don't even know where to start. I had a couple items that had failed me. I lost a very close loved one and I had no way of getting into my pictures that were on my external hard drive and laptop computer. I brought it in both items and I chose this place because read all the 5 star reviews. When I dropped them off, they told me they would be in contact with me. That never happened. I called to ask what was going on, I haven't heard any updates. They said nothing to worry about, the tech who was working on my things was really great and can get into anything. Weeks went by and again, no phone calls, no emails, nothing. They told me nothing to worry about, my items were there with them safe, and still trying to get into the hard drive. More weeks went by. This went on for months. Finally I called to complain, a manager called me back. The one and ONLY time anyone from that place had ever called me back. He also told me not to worry, he's going to try something different and he will call me when he's finished. I also asked what phone number they had on file, just to make sure they had the correct number. He read back my phone number, so I still didn't understand why I wasn't receiving and of their calls or messages. Many more weeks went by... NOTHING! I finally called them again, and just demanded my items to be done with and I was on my way to go get them. When I arrived, a girl at the desk hands me the hard drive that is meant to be inside of my laptop. I asked her where the rest of my laptop was. She asked the guy in the back and he told her to say that my laptop was put in the abandoned pile, because the owner never came to get it and so they ripped the hard drive o out and sold the remainder of my laptop for parts. They also said they called me many times and left many voicemails but they never did. Not once to tell me they were getting ready to mark it abandoned. NOT. ONCE. Then I asked them for my external hard drive. She went in the back to look for it, then said it's missing and not in the back. I told her I wasn't going to leave until I get it in my hands. She said it might be at the other store and all should be ok. I asked for her to find out. She went in the back to make a call to the other store and she came back to the front with again, the hard drive that belongs INSIDE of the external hard drive. I asked where the rest of my hard drive was, she told me they crushed it into pieces to open it up. They never explained they were going to do that. I also would have never given permission to do that just like I never gave permission to sell my laptop. Now I'm left with these piece of hard drives and don't even know if my files, pictures and everything else is even able to be downloaded onto anything else in the future. They were never upfront and honest to me since day one. I understand it's my fault and should have demanded my belongings a lot earlier but they should also have not promised me phone calls and promised me that everything was going to be ok, because it never was. I have seven reviews and I have never written a bad one till now so best to heed my warning. Do yourself a Favor and avoid the headache!!! John (the owner) and Mathew have no idea how to run a business. Their good reviews are most likely fake reviews so be careful! My email to John. He offered $0 refund- "I recently brought in my computer, two iPhones, and a laptop for repairs. I now have more issues than when I brought them in. I have been in California dealing with mediation and legal proceedings and came home to finally try out my $4,500 build and I'm extremely upset and frustrated, to say the least. First of all, follow-up calls regarding the status of my repairs were hit or miss at best, and there was always confusion between every person I talked to. When my laptop was "ready," I came in to pick it up and the bottom plate fell off because someone forgot to put the screws back in. Secondly, when I came in to pick up my phones, they where both dead and the person helping me stated he did not know the status of them or the details on my computer. I dropped off two external hard drives - one was good and one was bad - to have someone in your shop recover the data from the bad one and transfer it to the good one. Your tech stated he accidentally threw away part of the bad external hard drive (which he could not recover the data from) and was trying to have someone find it in the trash. I'm going to need both external hard drives returned to me as the tech also forgot to give me the good one back while I was there. Due to the inconvenience your shop has put me through, I'm requesting that you please mail both of them to me. Please contact me with the tracking number once it's scheduled for delivery. My one-year old daughter makes it tough for me to come in there, and every time, I called prior to coming in and then nothing was ready and confusion ensued. Like being told the price was $200 for labor, and when I got there, the price was actually $319. I figured $200 was wrong, but my point is nobody had correct or accurate information, The employees that worked on my items never seemed to be working when I came by, and no one could property update me and it always seemed like a guessing game over the phone as to the status of my items. No one was ever available to speak with me, even after someone from your shop called me saying something was completed and ready for pick up. It is absurd what I went through! I truly expected more. Especially from your yelp and Angie reviews. I am blown away by the lack of communication, professionalism, and actual service I received. My laptop is the only properly working Item. I could go on with more specifics but the main issues are this: Computer: 1) I requested only unused programs be removed and my entire computer was wiped clean! I hope your shop took precaution and was proactive enough to have a restore version of my computer for me. I spent a lot of time making adjustments installing browsers, cortina, mail, etc. I clearly had my computer well defined with a clean set up and anyone could see that. Wouldn't someone call first before such a big move? There were just a couple programs I was unsure of that I wanted checked to see if they were not needed. Why didn't some one just call me first?!; 2) My computer takes longer to boot up now and the Internet no longer reconnects from sleep mode; and 3) I had to create a new login and still have to use a pin. iPhones: 1) GPS no longer works on either phone; 2) Wifi no longer works on either phone; 3) Wifi antenna was not replaced even though I requested it and the phone was opened to install a battery; and 4) iPhones do not hold a charge very long, even after several cycles. I paid for two new batteries, and battery life did not improve. I appreciate Chris getting my RAM installed and working properly, and I think Chris is the best tech you have. I should have been dealing with him directly through the entire process, but was only able to speak with him once on his way out. He did call after I had already picked up my computer but the damage was done. I'm requesting a full refund for what I paid on my phones and computer that I now need to have re-repaired. I do not feel confident, what-so-ever, in bringing any of my items back to your shop. Put yourself in my shoes; how upset would you be as the customer to have to go through all that I've been through dealing with your shop, only to learn your entire computer was wiped clean and is now having more issues then when you brought it in? Of note, the best computer repair shops I have dealt with have the computer up and running in the shop, ready for the customer upon arrival to check it out before paying, making sure all is well. Not to mention the invoice ready, and all the other items that were brought in, bagged up, and ready to go. Took two laptops here and one of them I received from my employer where the IT department cleaned it before selling to employees...the only thing wrong was it didn't connect to wifi. The other one had a hard drive issue. They quoted me too much to fix them and for that price I could go purchase a brand new computer...something didn't seem right. I said I would just get them and be done with it...then I get a second call with an offer to possibly buy both laptops from me, which they didn't want to give me anything for them. I was in crisis mode with a failed flash drive, and with the COVID issues, I had a real concern about getting into a location that was open without having to ship it someplace out of state to see if my data could be recovered. Being that the location WAS open, they were extremely busy. The team was very courteous, and did an excellent job getting everyone taken care of efficiently while adhering to social distancing guidelines. My husbands 6mo old laptop got a damaged screen. I called about 4 places (that I found thru Yelp) the first place sounded promising( low price quote) but when I took my laptop in they changed their quote( much higher!!) I then called TLC. They were able to see me same day, and were up front on prices and labor. When I explained that we needed the laptop for daily business, they were able to return the laptop to me ( after opening it up to confirm the part number) same day. Had a technician come out to help me send info to some literary agents. If you don't follow the guidelines EXACTLY, they won't even look at your submission. My submission involves text and photos. I don't have the computer ability to do it. TLC does it. Third time I've had Estabahn out. First time my need was new to him and he had no problem figuring it out. After that he read the different agency's guidelines and went right to what he had to do. It's my understanding he's moving on from TLC; so,, I know I'll use them again. I had an old laptop that had kept giving me a "no memory available" error even though I had moved all my info to an external hard drive, plus I was never able to use wireless with it. I decided to take it to TLC and let them work on it because I wanted to set it up for my business applications only. TLC did a nice job of cleaning it up, replaced a faulty harddrive for $89, and managed to save a lot of my stuff. I basically got a new computer for $225 all in, with a better browser, 500 GB hard drive, and the wireless works flawlessly. Fair price, good service. I have been using, building and programming computers since 1982, back in the old Tandy TRS-80 and Co-co 1, 2, and 3. I am retired now and frankly my eyesight has reached the point that I just cannot see all the tiny bits and pieces that used to give me no problems 20 years ago. I have a nice Toshiba Qosimo laptop with an 18 inch screen that started crashing due to overheating. Could have been the air circulation blocked by lint, a borked CPU or possibly a bad memory chip. I've dealt with them all in the past. It also can be software related. I decided to give TLC a try and described the problems. The owner quoted me $130, which, in my experience was a bit on the low side, since I knew the absolute minimum work was to disassemble, clean the airways, check the fan and the CPU and possibly put some new thermal grease between the CPU and the heat sink (about 2 hours work). The problem was determined by them to be software related and it was fixed with an OS re-install. They also reinstalled and updated all drivers and installed a remote connection/diagnostic app and other basic apps along with all my old data. The final cost was $130, just as they said, and all issues were 100% fixed. I know the amount of time spent for all this, having done similar work myself more times than I care to remember on my company's fleet of 30 computers---and these guys seriously undercharged me. I offered to pay more but they declined. These guys are honest and as good as it gets in the computer service area.. Thank You!! read more

My 2013 Samsung laptop, like many older machines, was starting to have keys coming loose. After watching videos on how to replace keys and keyboards, I decided to find a professional to do it - too hard! After researching a replacement keyboard, I took my laptop and the eBay ad for the keyboard to TLC Computer Solutions. John and his team refused to replace the keyboard and wouldn't order the part I showed them. Turns out, they were right. After further research, it came to light that for my model laptop, the entire top part (called a "palmrest") has to be replaced, not just the keyboard. Their years of experience combined with genuine care for a customer came together on this. They order a palmrest; the same day it arrived, they had me bring the laptop in and they replaced it same-day. My old laptop looks and feels like a brand-new machine now! In conclusion, if you're reading this review, it's probably because you're computer is broken and you're trying to find a good place to get it fixed. Very upset and disappointed that this place let me down. I trusted this place because it is in Aliante'. I had 3 people working on my macbook pro for more than a couple of days and my mac still did not work. Not only did it not work, it wasn't even able to start up and sign was only showing. I will definitely be contacting this place along with the managers first thing monday morning because they ARE CLOSED on sunday with no other number to contact. I took a computer that was not working to them. I built the computer myself and had to install a 10 year old hard drive because I needed the old applications on the old drive. So they fixed my crappy work and cloned the old hard drive and put it in a new drive for only $120. This was cheaper than getting a new computer. It only took them an hour for what would have taken me about 3 days. I also had an old laptop that the sound was not working. They updated the drivers and put in more ram. They did it quickly and cheaply. So now instead of spending hours working on my computers I would rather take it to these experts. They are great. read more

In the past I have gone to TLC for minor problems with my PC. So when my PC really shut down for what I thought was forever and took it to them for what I thought was the last time. Expecting the worse, I spent the time, while they did an analysis of the problem, to price out a new PC. Much to my surprise and amazement they were able to replace the hard drive, save ALL our files, and other information. Plus, once I got it back what little problems I found they remotely fix. My PC died and I was pretty sure it was the power supply that had failed. I brought it in and they verified my amateur diagnosis. Within a few days I had my PC back. I use it for my business, so time was of the essence. And for the first time that I can recall in ANY repair situation, the cost of the part was MORE than the cost of the labor to replace it! My poor old Dell laptop has lasted YEARS beyond what its shelf life is supposed to be, and I have these guys to thank for it! I've had to take it in several times for troubleshooting/virus cleaning, and they've done a stellar job EVERY time. Their rates are more than reasonable, and the service has been swift. During the night, a virus infected my computer and was taking it over.
