Where else can you get a good sandwich with drinks and chips for under $10?? Make them TJs subs and you can feed 4 people for under $35. Typical sandwich comes with all the fixings and there's a good classic chip selection. Fountain drinks as well as cans. Inside is a little warm if the sun is on the south side, but still worth it to take to go. Owners are quiet and friendly. Walls are covered with student art and there's old comfy couches as well as plants in the corners. My son ordered the egg and bacon one and he loved it. Bacon was cooked perfectly. My husband and I stopped in for lunch while we working and fell in love. I had the Italian sub large and could barely eat half. The art work on the walls are beautiful and while you enjoy your sandwich their daughter is playing the piano beautifully. This was such a relaxing surprise in the middle of a busy work day. We decided to try the classic Italian and Roasted Beef, BACON, Avocado sandwich, they did not disappoint. The bread was fresh and the Lg sandwiches were a filling meal. They're good but not the same. They don't listen at all. They ask if I want everything and I tell them no because I have a sensitive stomach but whenever I get home or anywhere else, everything I ask for is not there. It would be fine if it only happened once or twice but it's almost every time. In fact, it's gotten to the point that I tell them multiple times and it falls on deaf ears when I say extra or none. I have lived less than a mile away from this place almost my entire life, and I went there for the first time, today. I am now kicking myself for not giving this place a shot long ago. The place is not part of a corporation; it's a mom and pop shop to the nth-degree. A husband and wife own it and staff it. This place kicks Subway, Firehouse, and Jersey Mike's collective butts up one side and down the other. I had the small roast beef with bacon and avocado. I got the combo which included chips and a small fountain drink for eight bucks. The bread was amazing, roast beef was great, avocado was perfect, and the bacon..... this was not paper-thin slices of bacon. Nope, it was thick and flavorful and there was a lot of it. If I had to state a downside, it's that the AC wasn't on but they had big fans blowing. With great food and quiet and appreciative owners, this place is definitely five stars plus. read more

Kind of an odd vibe when you come because they have couches inside and I was thinking it was a furniture store with a sandwich shop inside before walking in. It was kind of hot in there too. Very nice Asian lady and I'm guessing her daughter who helps her. The prices here are good and the sandwiches come packed. It was only $1 more to get chips and soda. We thought the food was good but since it is an avocado lovers sandwich there should be more avocado inside. Other then that we were happy. It didn't take long to get our food. I was astonished by the amazing quality of sub I got. I ordered the roast beef, turkey, ham, and cheese with everything on it as well as added bacon. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Very tasty, easily satisfies the appetite. This is my favorite. Pastrami Sandwich: I have also ordered the pastrami. For $9 you get about 8-10" sandwich loaded with pastrami. Well not as much as the hat but generous portion. The pastrami is pretty tasty but would prefer the Hat's pastrami. Pros: Tasty sandwiches at reasonable prices. They are very quick and efficient. Cons: Not really a con but this is more of a quick eat, or grab and go type of restaurant. Its kind of random but there is a big old couch in the middle of the restaurant. Their sandwiches remind me of good old homemade sandwiches that my mother would've made me, with lots of love and care -- none of those pre-packaged, franchise sandwiches that I am so used to when I was in college... A mom and pop sandwich shop that totally smashes the big boys. This place is a the total package. As far as taste. The only two sandwiches I have ever had there are salami avocado and cheese. Also pastrami avocado and cheese. These guys are not stingy with meat or avocado. Very friendly older couple working that makes you happy to support a small business. Head and shoulders above Subway. Just as good as Jersey Mike's, except you pay 1/2 the price and there pastrami sandwich is huge and packed giving the Hat in Glendora a serious challenge. This is an odd looking restaurant in an odd strip mall with an odd couch inside in the middle of the shop but don't let that discourage you. It's a great sandwich shop. There is literally no line every time we've come in, the service is good, there is plenty of different sandwiches to choose from and the prices are extremely fair! The subs are always full, with large tomatoes, large slices of avocado and plenty of meats. The only one I don't care for is the tuna - it's fresh but not really seasoned - I prefer more of a tuna "salad" style (I guess that means too much mayo - ha!) but everything else is great! The chips come in a small bag - like a kids lunch size but they are good about refills so for the price, there is not much to complain about. I've picked up subs here on the way to a picnic or different outings and it's easy to stop in, grab your food and go. Overall a great hole in the wall sandwich shop. read more
