The Hat in Glendora has really good food, and we've always enjoyed the quality. Unfortunately, the pricing and service left us disappointed this visit. Charging $1.94 for a tiny 2-ounce side (if that) of BBQ sauce is completely out of your mind. I went to Stater Brothers and got an 18 Oz bottle (see attached) for $1.99. On top of that, we had to return to the drive-thru because our drinks were missing from the order. Good food can only make up for so much. Coming to The Hat was really nostalgic for me because this was the first Hat location I ever visited when I was 16 years old. Unfortunately, this visit really fell flat. The pastrami was nowhere near as flavorful as I remember from other locations, and the chili cheese fries were especially disappointing. They tasted bland, like they needed at least some salt, and the chili itself was honestly pretty awful. The restroom was also pretty messy, which stood out enough that even my son kept asking why it was so dirty. On the positive side, the location itself looked clean overall, the outside was well kept, and there was plenty of seating. I arrived at The Hat (Glendora) on Saturday (around 4:10PM). Parking is easy. The private lot is fairly big, and I quickly found a spot. The location was fairly empty during my arrival; however, the place got extremely busy as 5PM neared. I counted over eight cars in the drive thru. Staff is professional, efficient, and helpful. Staff answered all my questions, and Staff worked hard. To my utter shock, my food was ready in 25 seconds!!!! That's insanely fast! I wonder if they just prioritize dine-in over the drive thru. The food is filling. The Pastrami Dip ($12.60) arrived somewhat shriveled. It had an ugly, squished appearance, but the quality felt present. The bread is fluffy and springy. The pastrami is tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. Its pickle slice is also zesty and crisp. The flavors were satisfying. The Chili Fries ($8.60) with Melted Cheddar Cheese (additional $1.99) arrived picturesque. It looked gorgeous with its melted, stretchy cheddar cheese. Surprisingly, its chili came boiling hot. The chili is very wet, pasty, and under-seasoned. The fries are thick, hot, and squishy. And the melted cheddar cheese saves this bland chili fries with its stretchy texture and fresh cheddar flavor. At the very least, this dish is very big with satisfying textures. Regarding ambiance, The Hat (Glendora) is very spacious and clean. There's many interior tables, and there's several outside tables. The tables, floor, and windows are very shiny and well-maintained. This location also has high-chairs for families. There's also two gender neutral restrooms. The music is also very soft. The decor is tasteful, and it captures the feeling of history as it proudly displays photos of the past. Overall, The Hat (Glendora) is a good destination for comfort food. Been to numerous The Hat locations before. This is a location that feels very spacious. There's a lot of parking available in a large lot, plenty of seating indoors, and a few outdoors. There's also a drive thru! I went on a Saturday at around 11:30 AM. It was moderately busy at the time but still plenty of seating available. I was able to order right away and it took around 6 minutes for everything to be ready. They do accept American Express as a payment option. I ordered (3) pastrami dip sandwiches and (2) chili cheese fries. The staff recognized that was a lot for one person to carry so he offered to give me a box. He went to the back to grab it, assembled it, and packaged everything neatly. It was very sturdy and made it easy to carry the order. Service is quick and great here! read more

Decided to drive down on a Friday evening at about 7:30 PM. I expected to find a long drive-through line, but there was about five in front of me. The line goes super fast. Service here is great, sometimes friendly sometimes just business like. Probably due to the amount of people they're helping at a time. I got the pastrami sandwich and the wet fries with gravy. Both were delicious and a huge portion. I opted to split both items plenty for two of us. They do have new sandwiches a tuna melt, veggie cucumber with provolone and avocado and a ham and cheese melt. Did not try these, but they looked good. As far as ambience, as other yelpers have stated there's plenty of room inside, a few tables outside and plenty of parking. I would also note that they have large vehicle parking in the back to accommodate even trailers. Fast food, delicious, ambience perfect for a fast food place and service, quick and professional. I have been to several of their locations over the years and have been pleased with the quality, quantity and taste of the food. It's sinfully delicious. It's the Pastrami dip that keeps me coming back. It's pricy, but they layer and pack the meat on, it probably weighs a pound, I get two meals out of one sandwich. I've had Pastrami sandwiches at many other places, they are much smaller and don't have the awesome au jus dip. The burgers are sooooo good and yummy too!! Been coming here for decades. Never misses. Got the chili cheese fries recently. So good. We added pickles, tomatoes, and onions on top as well. You get a pretty large portion for the price which is very fair. They also have these cool soda machines where u basically use the force to turn them on. Very crispy Dr. Pepper! I wanted burgers that were cost efficient, so we ended up going to The Hat yesterday (before the game), since there were 5 of us. This location off Route 66 in Glendora was extremely packed!! We also got a side of gravy to top on the fries which gave it that extra flavor. *Tip: Ask for yellow chilies to go w your burger. No, they're not spicy but gives your burger a small kick!! Great hours!! They're open from 10 AM to 11 PM Mon-Wed, and 10 AM to 1 AM Thurs-Sun. WHAT!?!?! Gosh, I wish the Murrieta location would stay open that late!!! But this is good to know since I'm now in this neck of the woods. I'm not sure how many people come here & order a turkey sandwich but I did. Looking over the menu it sounded best to me. Im not a fan of pastrami or beef dips. Let me tell you it was the best turkey sandwich I ever had. I got it without tomatoes because I do not like them. The bread was fresh & soft the amount of turkey & lettuce was perfect. Customers will accept higher prices, or smaller portions of food. They will not accept both. Double the price for half the meat far exceeds inflation and is not perceived as good value. Perhaps consider offering an "old school" upcharge option on any sandwich. Made right, the way you used to serve them, with the meat overflowing the (now smaller) bread. You might be surprised how many people will pay extra. My roast beef sandwich had literally 2 slices of beef the first 2" at both ends of the bread. More in the middle but not satisfied at all. I was passing by the Drive-thru of The Hat on the 4th of July, I was surprised that the place was open and packed. Since I always crave their Onion rings, I couldn't resist ordering some of their delicious ones. I usually start eating the warm onion rings once I got my order and  while I am driving. I like the  crunchiness, the savory and flavorful taste of the batter, and the quantity too. I also ordered Chili tamales, it came with crackers. It was also yummy and huge. Felt like having the Pastrami Dip sandwich and fries today! It was perfect for sharing since I only can eat half of it. Remembered to take a pic before splitting the food this afternoon at home. LOL The sandwich (4.5/5) was better today and did not have any weird rubbery/leathery pieces like last time. Deducted 0.5 because there was still less meat than before.
