The food here is awesome! We ordered the world famous pastrami sandwiches with chili cheese fries and onion rings. The portions were pretty reasonable for the price, and the pastrami was delicious and juicy. No wonder they've been in business for so long. I'd highly recommend trying it out! read more

Last night my husband saw a YouTube video about The Hat in Glendora famous pastrami sandwiches. So told he drove over tonight to get us dinner. Sad to say the sandwich didn't have very much meat, it tasted good but very skimpy on the meat. The onion rings were a lot less than I remember them serving in the past. Food: 5/5 I'll cut to the chase. I ordered their Chilli.Hot Dog but I forgot to ask for no onions. I ended up scraping the onions off. Still delish. Service: 5/5 fast and efficient. Friendly staff and super welcoming environment with diner radio which can be turned on a tad louder. Ambiance: all decorated with a lot of 'The Hat,''s wall paintings and plants. Lots of plants. 5/5. We stopped by this establishment after seeing a live, nativity scene downtown. The place looks exactly like the other cities' Hats, hehe. The environment was warm and cozy, and the staff was nice. We got the usuals- beef dip sandwiches and gravy fries. Good stuff. read more

A staple growing up, The Hat has lost its way by increasing prices substantially and reducing the portions that made them famous. The prices have never been a problem as long as you get your moneys worth, which we felt was true up until our 3 most recent visits. The quality for us has always been consistent, and this review isn't about that. It's about changing what has worked for your business for over 70 years. We can't tell you how to run your business, but you have lost a multi-generational customer base by getting skimpy. The other recent reviews across your locations seem to echo this sentiment. This is the worst Hat I've ever been to. I've been to three other locations and have always had top notch experience. This place is very unfortunate. I keep coming back and hoping it'll get better because come on, it's The Hat! But, it just gets worse. Our fries are always not cooked all the way so we started asking for them to be well done. We've noticed it tends to be dirty and not the typical Hat clean standards. Then there's this lady who takes orders or calls out orders when they're ready for pick up who has an awful sounding voice. It's like listening to claws on a chalkboard. It's really enough to ruin your dining experience having to listen to her. They must know it's bad because someone else repeats the numbers after her cause people can't understand what she's saying. Our experience tonight has officially turned us off from this location indefinitely. We will drive farther to get to the next closest Hat. They got our order wrong and we never heard our number called out. We had to finally go ask about our order and it turned out it was sitting there ready for awhile. They had repeatedly called out numbers 59 and 60. Our number was 61. I was furious about that and then find out our order was wrong. They claimed we were wrong. Let it be "he said she said" but the whole experience made us literally lose our appetite. Last but not least, our chili cheese fries order was tipped over on the tray so fries were on one side and the chili on one side instead of being on top of each other. I'm so disappointed. read more

Parking- A+ Private lot with lots of parking! Service- A Hardworking individuals that are taking orders and cooks that are making sure our food is coming out efficiently. Food- A Came here for their famous chili cheese fries which always hits the spot no matter if your hungry or just in need of a quick snack. I also ordered it with fresh onions and tomatoes added on which helps cut through the grease from fries and chili. Since I don't get to come here all the time, I decided to order some onion rings and gravy which were both exceptional. The pastrami here is also really good so don't hesitate to order either. I didn't order it because i was craving some fried food. Ambiance- A Restaurant is clean and gives old school diner vibes. Has a self serve soda machine which is always a vibe. Price- C As someone that has been visiting this franchise since I was in middle school, prices have almost doubled. The prices are definitely on the higher end for a fast food establishment. Chili cheese fries with large onion rings and gravy equaled to $20. Overall- B+ Always enjoy coming to The Hat. This location has a big lot and so clean! We got pastrami dip and tuna sandwich. The pastrami is a little bit more on salty side so we can't finish it and the portion is big as well. I like the tuna sandwich tastes very fresh. Friendly service! read more

First time visiting the hat The parking lot is massive. There are tables outside available for seating. The inside is definitely old school diner vibes. The restaurant is definitely family friendly. It was nice to see groups of 6-7 eating comfortably together. When you order at the register you're able to see how your food is being cooked. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I had to try their pastrami sandwich as their name states, "world famous pastrami". The sandwich was delicious the pastrami was a huge serving. The sandwich was flavorful. The fries are served in a brown paper bag. Made a bit soggy. Not too fond of soggy fries. The whole restaurant is cute. Always one of my favorite places to get a pastrami with extra pickles. Big enough to share or have leftovers for the next meal. Getting food is quick, even when it's crowded. The staff are helpful if you have questions. Drive thru is extra quick, which makes it even more convenient. read more

The girl taking the orders at this location on 6/27/25 in the evening needs to be removed from the drive thru. She is rude and has a bad attitude. When I got to the window she was practically throwing the bags of food at me. When I asked for her name she refused to give it to me. When I asked if I can speak to her manager she also refused and told me I couldn't speak to him and that there wasn't a manager there. I literally was calling on another employee to get his attention and she slammed the drive thru window shut and went to go talk to the manager, a man in a red shirt. He came over and spoke to me. I expressed my concerns to him but I don't feel much will come from this. If she hates her job, she shouldn't be working. I will be contacting corporate on her. She was very unprofessional and should not be someone representing the company. read more

Pastrami is twice the price and half as big. We don't mind paying more but why charge more and make it smaller? We had to repeat our order 3x and she still got it wrong and the speaker is not working right. We ordered a /small container of ranch for our side orders and when we got home there was a bunch of rip open dressing packets. :-: Someone stopped caring about their customers....going going...gone. read more

The Hat is really starting to make me sad. I've been a fan for decades and now every time I go they disappoint me. Last time it was overcooked lukewarm fries in my chili cheese fries. This time it was the shrunken portion of chili cheese fries. I remember when you used to get a whole tray of chili fries. Then they added the cup holder tray to skimp on the portion size. This time the chili fries portion was almost not enough for two people to share. Shame on The Hat but shame on me for coming back. read more

The customer service is not good every time I've been here....rude, not personable..."what do you want?" type of attitude. We ordered dinner to go last night from them for Fathers Day....I got a basic cheese burger and when I opened up the wrapping around the burger, there was tiny bug crawling around on the paper. Another person in our group got a cheese burger as well and they found a long hair in their burger. Safe to say...this place is horrible and I'm happy to spend my money elsewhere. read more

I have been eating pastrami sandwiches at The Hat for about 50 years. This is the first time that I have been disappointed in the pastrami sandwiches! I ordered a pastrami sandwich with extra mustard and extra wet! When I got home, my pastrami sandwich had about a third of the usual pastrami on it, barely any mustard, and barely wet! I have long considered The Hat to be the gold standard of pastrami sandwiches, but no longer! They used to make a superior pastrami sandwich, but I guess I'll have to find a new gold standard! It's very sad! Also, my wife got a chili cheese burger and I watched the cook cook her burger. They should train their cooks not to keep pressing down on their hamburger patties as they cook. They are wringing all of the juice out of the patties, like you'd wring out a sponge! Sure enough, her hamburger was dry! ‍I know they could do better! I hope they change soon! read more

When I lived in Los Angeles, The Hat was my go-to place for pastrami sandwiches. I'm happy that the pastrami sandwiches are still as good as I remember it. The cashier was friendly, and we got our food quickly. A bonus was the orange bang at the soda machine, which was so good. My only complaint/wish is that there would be a smaller size/half order of the chili cheese fries. They have the best chili cheese fries, but the serving is huge, and I knew it would be too much food just for me. I would definitely recommend The Hat and anytime I'm visiting L.A. I try to make a stop. read more

It was ooey and gooey. He felt similarly about the crust, but I bet you tomorrow in the air fryer that will be nice. We also like a thin crispy crust, regardless. Overall, super fun and creative idea that was well executed. Will eat again!

I went with the combo and then my food comes no fries so I ask about it and she tells me only a drink comes with the combo. I'm not gonna argue or make a scene over not getting fries. That's fine but the menu says the combo has fries and a drink. Ordered a chicken Caesar wrap with Caesar Dressing. It does not come coated like a Traditional Caesar salad. The wrap is dry because the dressing is in the side. That's weird to me because I ordered chicken CAESAR wrap. Pouring globs of dressing on the top of my wrap like I'm eating a breakfast burrito is not ideal. The soda machines had little to no carbonation so the sodas are super syrup heavy. Even the tea options tasted off. They do offer beer, perhaps I should have gone that route. The place was clean but we were the only ones in there so I can't speak to the cleanliness of the place on a busy day. Overall, I wasn't satisfied and will still continue my search for a good chicken Caesar wrap around town.
