I don't know where to start,,,, The food is delicious. The sandwich was awesome. The people that work there are totally nice and very down to earth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself kind of reminds me of going to someone's studio because of all the paintings that are on the wall. which are done by the owner himself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It just feels like a really cool place to just hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now Back to the the sandwiches I got the New Yorker and I have to be completely honest and say That was a good . I got the large because I was really hungry and it did not disappoint at all. Delicious. This is a Mom and Pop Spot . As some people would say a hidden jewel. They offer really good sandwiches. They have soda and chips. TJs Subs is the true definition of a mom and pop sandwich shop - and inside, you will find some very nice, hardworking people behind the counter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of quiet seating, and a small area for kids to play. It feels like being at home, it really does.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sandwiches were under $10, with a combo add-on of chips and a fountain drink for just $1!! The food was fast and fresh. The soda machine tasted great, it tasted clean. They also offer soda cans. Today, we tried the Bonanza and the Italian Sandwiches, which were huge. The Bonanza started with a fresh hoagie sandwich bread, cheese, thick cut roast beef, ham and turkey. Their sandwiches can include mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, and yellow peppers - no added charge. This sandwich included avocado, too! Every ingredient tasted fresh. Check out my photos, the large was enough for me to take half a sandwich home for later! For $10... can't beat it!! I added the combo and grabbed some Doritos sweet n spicy chips. They had Funyuns, Lays, Ruffles, Kettle Cooked, Cheetos - and a quite a few more to choose from. We will absolutely be back, to show this awesome place some local love!

A mom and pop sandwich joint that is nothing fancy or extra. Just good sandwiches. Get it with bacon. They are not cheap on it.

I finally made my way to try TJ's Subs! They're located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. It is a family owned and operated shop. The family greets you as you walk in. You walk towards the middle of the restaurant to place your order. They have plenty of options available. If you like avocado, they have a section of the menu that adds avocado to all the sandwiches under that section. I came during lunchtime, and I was impressed at how expeditious they were. Within 5 minutes, I had placed an order, paid, and received my lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have tables inside for you to eat along with couches. The atmosphere is cozy and homey.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sub was yummy! The bread is very soft. The sub tastes fresh and flavorful. I liked that they put oil and vinegar on the sub to tie in all the flavors together. Overall, it was a great experience. This is definitely a good place to grab a quick bite and they have affordable prices!

Cute mom & pop shop, came here for the first time. Ordered a large Turkey Bacon Avocado Club Sub with chips & drink came out to $13. Reasonably priced, the sub was fresh & so delicious/filling (could only eat half). Service was quick & the owners are very friendly. Never have had tomato chunks in a sandwich. Not very tasty.

This place was good but they have room for improvement. Firstly I'd like to say that both I and my wife were happy with the way the food tasted. Classic sandwich, at a great price. I did have a few concerns... the bread I had was squished. Not sure how you miss that while preparing the sandwich..also the tomato was cut fairly thick in both the sandwiches I received, not sure how you miss that as-well but things happen. The 4 dollar up charge for bacon is a high for the quality, and they told me it's also an extra charge to toast the bread on the sandwich..never experienced that before, but was willing to pay since I know times are rough. They must've forgot to toast my bread but I was still charged. Honestly not the best experience I had but I'd give them another shot.

I love sandwiches and I've tried them from just about every small business in the area. This place is by far the best! Not only are they less expensive than the majority of the competition, but the quality of their sandwiches tastes like it should really cost more. Everything always tastes like it was freshly made that morning. From the bun that has just the right amount of chewiness to the ample amount of meat they put in to the thick cut vegetables that are always amazingly fresh, there isn't a bad word I could say about this place. An absolute hidden gem that anyone who is a fan of sandwiches should give a try, you won't regret it. read more

I went here with my friends to grab some subs for dinner and I really liked it. The Italian Sub had a good balance of fresh vegetables and meat and the bread was nice too. The best part about it was the value, I paid under $10 for a sub, a drink, and chips. I enjoyed it, will probably be coming back if I ever get the craving for a sub again. WOOHOO! read more

I love TJ's subs!! I use to live in Glendora , years ago with a bf. He went there and got us some subs, they were so good!!! Ever since then, i would go every now and then ( because i had moved to Monrovia ) so i didnt go as much. Anyway, i think i need to try and go again, i usually always get the Italian sub, but i may need to try and turkey and bacon sub!!! Sounds yum read more

Tried the Italian sub and well not bad but not great either ... I would agree with another review about the ingredients not being of best quality ... it's just a simple sandwich nothing amazing about it ... the bread was nice and soft though which I appreciate ... maybe I will try a different sandwich next time ... read more

Love this little while in the wall. These sandwiches are always good. I've been coming here for years. The bread is always soft. Turkey avocado the best sandwich ever no regrets. The tuna is the only thing I wouldn't order again. Cause there's no mayo in it. But what do I expect when I ask for a tuna sandwich lol... and the bLt is so delish. I thought I was the only one who loved this place. This is my favorite sandwich place of all time. When I go here I get the Roast Beef, Ham, Turkey, and Cheese. I ask for pepperccini's and it's one of the best things I had in my mouth. This is the only sandwich place that I crave. The owners are very sweet. Never messed up an order. I sometimes have to drive down to Glendora because I'm jonesing for one like crazy! Now............I'm gonna have nothing else on my mind till that creation is back in my mouth. Yummers!! read more

Look, I'm a big dude with a big appetite. If you want a hearty solid sub with quality ingredients loaded with fresh bacon come here! I got the large Turkey Bacon Avocado and walked away extremely happy. This place has been here since the 80s and is doing it right!!! Wayyyy better then any Subway I've ever had. EVER! read more

I have been driving past this place for awhile, and I thought to myself it was fairly unjust that I havn't stopped to come inside considering my initials are TJ, so as fate would have it the time had come. I ordered the bacon, ham, cheese sandwhich which came with bacon, ham, bacon, cheese, bacon, and more bacon oh and peppercini's on the side of course. Seriously I want to take a TJ sub sandwhich and slap Subway with it, thats what I love about mom and pop spots quanity and quality. Its very reasonably priced, for a medium sandwhich, chips and a drink it is $6.50. I swear I had dreams of this sandwhich for the next several days, ima actually get my ass off this computer and go get one right now. read more

I come here practically everyday. The sandwiches are nice and big. For 5 bucks, you can get a large signature sandwich and for a buck more you can get a drink and a small bag of chips. The other sandwiches are just variation of their signature sandwich which I believe is a combination of ham, bologna and some other sort of salami. My personal favorite is the beef, cheese and bacon. But the "Bonanza" comes in a really close 2nd. Their huge (if you order a large). The gentleman that works the register is really quite and doesnt really like to make small talk but that could just be because his english is limited. His partner making the sandwiches is a lady that whips them out quick. You can have a sandwich as quick as 3 minutes. It's pretty crazy... This is just a humble little mom & pop shop with some honest, good sandwiches. Don't come in expecting gourmet ingredients and top choice bread. It's the type of sandwich your mom would make you if she loved you. read more

I've been about 4 times since I've discovered this place about a month ago! I used to go to Capri Deli in Covina but it's kind of pricey! This place you can get a turkey avocado (they give you a generous amount of adddvocadoo) for 5 bucks. If you really want a cheap but tasty/deeeeelicious sandwich you can get the TJ's special for 4 bucks ( I think it has ham and some Italian meats). One of the things that really gets me back in is the bread- the bread is like fluffy but a lil flakey on the outside but slightly chewy,I don't know how else to explain it but it's goooooooood! Inside the lil sandwich shop there are two old school t.v.'s and some older books and some magazines to check out while you eat, along with a bunch of random art drawings and pictures on the wall that I believe that owners have drawn themselves and have collected over the years. Good place to hit up for lunch read more

What an amazing hidden gem! Driving down the street saw this tucked away sandwich shop and stopped in for a bite! Simple layout no extras but the sandwhiches are amazing the the ingredients top shelf no facl microwave bacon! Fresh cooked real bacon and alot of it! The meat was amazing and the bread quality tops its off! If you enoy sandwhich shops and a mom and pop feel check them out you wont be disappointed! read more

Consistently amazing... highly recommend the turkey, avocado, and bacon either on white bread or squaw for the more health conscious. Also recommend the grinder....on squaw bread. This place is a GEM. wonderful service and super cool artwork inside. TJ is a great spot to get HUGE fresh sandwiches for a decent price. The man behind the counter gave me a free upgrade and i was even happier coming home and eating my freshly made sandwich. My husband got a large sub and this thing is legit the size pf his forearm. This place is my favorite sandwich place around Glendora. The bread is homemade and FRESH. I recommend the Turkey, Avocado and CHeese. The prices are inexpensive and all the meats are fresh. Who in there right mind would think Asian people would make the best damn sub sandwiches .. I have been eating here for the last 15 years and I have introduced countless people to this eatery.. It is very basic inside and you can add on a soda and a mini bag of chips to any sandwich order for a dollar .. Everything is fresh and you can watch them make the sandwich right in front of you .. I personally get a bonanza with bacon and it cost 7.00 dollars or so but most sandwiches start off at 5-6 dollars .. Subway, Jersey Mikes or any of the other chains don't hold a candle to TJs Subs.. Its the bread or the meats or how they fix it or hell I don't know but what I do know is these are just great sandwiches at a great price ... read more

This is MY go-to sandwich shop, has been for as long as I can remember. They have changed owners a few times, but nothing has really changed that much as far as what they offer or the building. I personally hate Subway... with their stiff chewy bread. This place has soft bread that won't strain your jaw when biting into it! :) It's cheap, its good, fairly healthy, and fast! Only $1 to add chips and soda to your sandwich, yumm. Yeah the guy's English sucks, and the place is a dump, but whatever. My mom would probably want me to tell you that this place gave her food poisoning years ago. Stuff happens though, so it doesn't phase me. I've been here many times since, and I have never gotten sick. I do have one major complaint that.. they close way too friggin' early.. like around 5:30pm! So if you want a sandwich for dinner, think again. read more

My husband loves this place! But if you have ever been inside it's straight out of 1970. In my opinion their bread is too thick. But on the other hand if you add bacon to something, they are giving you bacon... a lot of it. Pricing is good and we return often. read more

Come here if you like large, delicious, reasonably-priced sandwiches with fresh ingredients. We've been getting sandwiches here for a few years now, and it's definitely our go-to place if we're craving a sub sandwich. Some cons would be the limited English speaking of the husband and wife owners, and no options for the bread and cheese. Pros are quality, taste and price of the sandwiches. I also love the many sandwich options! Go now, you won't be disappointed. read more

I've had the pastas, the beef stroganoff, shepherd's pie, meatloaf, pot roast... all of it. You really can't go wrong. It's all just solid, delicious, comfort food. The staff are always so friendly. They also have a salad bar, which I haven't got a chance to try yet. And a dinner set, comes with the meatloaf or whole roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry walnut salad...Like I said, my only real complaint is that I don't live closer.

So double check the order before leaving. My co worker helped precut the sandwiches and was able to make it 12 slices more than we originally thought be only 8 or 10 since it feeds up to 10 ppl.
