Great jewelry
Debbie F.

Just shopped here today and got some amazing things at fantastic prices! Randy helped me at the jewelry counter and was so great I purchased more than expected. Store is loaded with wonderful holiday items!

Cut with the open can inside the store

I had the worst experience ever returning something at TJ Maxx, Ignacio. Less than a month ago--exactly 25 days--I bought a kitchen can opener for eight dollars, and the thing broke after one week. So today I went to return it along with a small All-Clad pot, and of course I had my 3-year-old with me. I got there right when they opened, receipt in hand. The lady who helped me scanned it and then told me I couldn't return the can opener because I didn't have the packaging--like seriously, who keeps the packaging for a can opener? Then she said she couldn't take the pot because the TJ Maxx sticker wasn't visible. It was wet, but you could totally tell it was from there. I even told her it was the $19.99 All-Clad because that brand is expensive. She called a guy over, he checked, and he gave me a big fat NO. No refund, no money, no store credit. They called the manager--the one who's always there--and she finally said okay, store credit. But when she went to get the receipt, suddenly I "couldn't find it," even though the first lady had already scanned it. At that point I just left the can opener so they could throw it in the trash themselves, and I walked out with my pot. In all of that mess, I cut my finger on the can opener and not one person bothered to ask if I needed anything until I was literally walking out the door. That's when they magically found the receipt. Honestly, I'm done shopping there. They acted like they were doing me a favor. Well, joke's on them--now they can pay to get rid of the garbage they sell. Lesson learned. My mistake was buying from a store where you're basically paying to take out the trash they collect from companies--stuff that didn't sell, is questionable, or is basically expired. Never again. From now on I'll just order from Amazon or buy directly.

Great place for shopping and dining close to the Heather Farm Parks and Recreation! Highly recommend supporting the local community and businesses

Super soft blankets for your pets.

Well organized, clean store and the customer service at the cashier was good. It was a pleasant experience shopping at this TJ Maxx location. We weren't able to find all the things that we wanted to get because they didn't carry some of those things, but overall it was still a nice and pleasant shopping experience. I love the range of product types that they carry - from clothing to even food items. I found these super soft blankets for pets that I almost bought - they were so cute. Too bad the design was cats while I was thinking about wanting one for our dog.

This is a good location. There is plenty of clothing, but it takes a while to check out since there is not enough cashiers around

After standing in a long line to the cashier, I asked the lady cashier for a stock check because the shirt I got had loose threads and no other size on the rack. She found one and they need to get it from the stockroom, which would take additional 5-10min. She gave me instructions to pick up the item at the front of the store, on the Collections rack. I thought I could purchase the shirt and wait for it at the front...but no she sent me away. (I didn't understand why I had to leave the cashier after waiting in a long line, pick up the item I was trying to purchase at the front door area, then go back to the cashier again to purchase the item. What a weird process! Never experienced this with other stores.) I had to reiterate, that I just lined up for 10min and I don't want to have to line up AGAIN. She said, "no, you don't line up again. Just go to the side(front of cashier), and WE'LL take you IN FRONT of the line." Ok, I thought that was fair. I left and waited another 5min-10min for the replacement shirt. Walked back to the side of the cashier, front of the line. There was a different cashier, 1 person in line for purchase, and 1 person to the right at Return/Exchange line. The Cashier didn't acknowledge me when he saw me(like "do you have any question, or I'll be right with you.."). When he finished with a customer, I approached the cashier, explained that I picked up the item from stock and I was told to come back to the front of the line. Then he told me with an attitude that,"you just got here and I need to help the person in line." I further explained that I was at the cashier earlier, but was told to leave to pick up the stock and return to the front of the line. He said, with an eye roll, "well, I didn't tell you that." So I stood in line again, and waited for the 3rd time! When he finished with the customer, he wouldn't assist me, and called the other person in line for returns, avoiding me. So I stepped closer again to the cashier, asking for assistance. He moved away from me to use the other cash register, took the other customer, and told me why he wouldn't assist me, "I don't like your attitude." I was surprised..and I answered back, "you don't need to like my attitude, but you guys should know how to follow your "OWN PROCESS AND PROCEDURES." (It's ashamed that you employ a person who can't deliver professional service, who needs more training to follow Zara's OWN process!!!) Maybe if I was instructed to go back in line after waiting for the replacement stock, I would've decided then if: 1-it was worth the wait to go back in line again 2-additional wait time for a replacement stock 3-or purchase the shirt I originally lined up for, but live with the poor quality of loose threads on the seams and collar. I would've went back in line, in peace, and not be harassed by your own employee. No wonder, you guys have 1.5stars on YELP! It's embarrassing. If more customers shopped online, you're jeopardizing the dying practice of professional customer service, and corporate could close down the store, and jobs would be on the line. I'm in customer service so I know how it is to properly treat a paying customer.

I always wondered why people like to use the fitting rooms here, b/c I thought most of these products were so basic and simple that the fit should be fine. It's actually nice to try items on as each piece could be made slightly different. I ended up not liking a tank I had grabbed in multiple colors because it looked too small for me. Randomly grabbed a pair of earrings I had seen near the register as my final item to purchase along with a pair of nice shorts, and a couple of other basic tanks. I wasn't sure about the earrings, but I received so many compliments the times I've worn them that I am so happy with my purchase. The price of the items here is also decent. The fitting room was kind of icky as there was gum on the curtain and the room did not look like it had been cleaned.

I never felt rushed, had plenty of options to choose from, and found everything I was looking for, plus a few things I didn't know I needed. My only disappointment was at checkout. After purchasing nearly $1,000 worth of clothing, my items were placed into the bag without much care. In the past, my Aritzia purchases have been carefully folded and wrapped in tissue paper, which always made the experience feel more special. I wish that same attention to detail had been given this time. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would happily return. A little more care with packaging would have been the perfect ending to an otherwise great shopping experience.

No one offered me a fitting room or asked if I needed help while shopping, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. When I went to return the tops I ordered online, I was incorrectly told that my items did not qualify for a refund because the return window had supposedly passed, even though I had received the order that same day. The cashier repeatedly insisted I was ineligible for a refund until she eventually realized it was a mistake, yet no apology was offered for the confusion or inconvenience. For a company that prides itself on a semi-luxury customer service, the experience felt dismissive and disappointing. As a person of color, the interaction left me feeling especially overlooked and undervalued as a customer. Not worth the price and headache!

While there's no longer music that plays in the morning and the main street is now closed to…read moretraffic, Broadway Plaza is still one of my favorite places to be in Walnut Creek. There's a good mix of restaurants, clothing, and jewelry shops, most of which are high quality brands and the mall constantly stays fresh and vibrant although I do wish they had more restrooms outside of the ones below Industrious. Some weekends they have a maker fare or live music, but most of the time the fountain is just central to the comfortable seating area, that during the winter gets some decor for the holidays. All in all, I really do love this area and still find myself coming back year after year.

This review is ONLY about the changes to the way you pay for parking…read more The new parking app makes me never want to shop at Broadway Plaza ever again, and I've been shopping there since I was a girl in the 80s. There was a period of time when I probably shopped at Broadway Plaza 1-2 times PER MONTH (now I'm stuck paying off my credit cards but that's my own fault and a separate issue). What was wrong with the old system? It worked just fine. But now you have to download an app to get out of the parking garage, EVEN IF you were there for less than the three hours of courtesy parking. It's absolutely insane. And even worse, there's NO cell reception in the garage (at least with AT&T) so you can't download the app without returning to the open air mall. Maybe that's why they changed things up? So that for people who haven't been to Broadway Plaza since before the app was rolled out, they might be able to charge for more time? It's unbelievable. And... you have to enter a bunch of personal information. Why do I need to download an app to pay for parking after I've already shopped at the mall, potentially pushing one of the tenants over their percentage rent breakpoint? It's outrageous. I don't mind having the ParkMobile app for parking because it allows me to park on many different cities' streets with little to no hassle. So I'm not anti-parking app. I am anti-Metropolis parking app. At least before, you got a time-stamped ticket so you knew exactly when to leave if you wanted to avoid paying. Now you have to remember to check the precise time you entered the garage, assuming it's even time-stamping accurately. And how do you know precisely where it time-stamps you? Macerich, do better. Relegate this parking situation to the annals of retail hell. Thank you for your consideration. [curtsy]
