What an awful experience I had at T.J. Maxx. It started in the Rosecrans store where the gentleman at the register handed me a receipt that was unlegible. So I asked him if you could print me out another receipt that I could actually read, and he offered to send it via email instead. I said that's fine as long as it works the same as a receipt and he said it does. When I ran the transaction I didn't receive an email right away. He said it might take some time give it a few minutes it'll show up. I didn't think anymore of this until A few days later after trying them on and realizing that they didn't fit properly. I went to the store in Santee to return a pair of shorts but I paid with my debit card for $30. Still have the tag on and was essentially brand new. I asked them if I can return this item I just purchased three days ago at the Rosecrans store and they explained all they can do is give me store credit back. So I explained the issue with them that I never received a receipt And that I chose an email instead because they were out of ink but as I looked at my emails I cannot find it anywhere. It seems like a never went through. Not only did Marissa, the manager, deny to help me in anyway whatsoever, But when is far as to accuse me of lying. I explain to her I have the transaction right here on my phone under my bank account that displays a debit transaction of the exact amount the shorts cost took place on the day I'm telling yo but when is far as to accuse me of lying. She wants again said that it's impossible for that to happen, their machines will not allow them to process a transaction even when the ink is low. What Marissa didn't know is that I am a technician who installs their printers not only for T.J. Maxx but also for Marshall's Old Navy gap and several other stores and I know exactly what those printers are capable of. These issues happen all the time they're not perfect machines. Mistakes constantly happen with them and I am constantly fixing them. So for her to not only call me a liar but then to feed me a lie on top of it, I was so upset I didn't even say a word I just grab my merchandise, requested her name, and walked out of the store. This store gave me terrible customer service all around from beginning to end I'm very disappointed. It's going to be very unfortunate the day I come to fix their printers here and have to speak to Marissa and ask her if she remembers me. It's one thing to neglect a customer but it's a whole diffferent matter to go out of your way to lie just to get a customer out of the store. I understand if it's store policy that they cannot complete a certain transaction no matter what the scenario is, but in the case where it's the employees fault that I don't have the proper paperwork to display to process a return and then flip it on me like it's my fault and I'm the one trying to get over on them, unacceptable. It wasn't a pride thing either, I needed some gas to get home I didn't have my wallet with me and I was depending on getting that cash. Because of Marissa's negligence I had to call a friend up who had to waste their time driving all the way out to Santee to provide me with gas money in order to get home. This should've never happened. I will no longer be doing any business with T.J. Maxx or marshals or home goods and Just so I don't have to run into this manager in the future I am going to cancel my contract I have with them as well installing/fixing their printer/registers. read more

Love it! From the purses to the dog food containers they are the bomb. They are a bit messy so I can only give them a four, but I love all the eclectic entertaining items they have. They also have a lot of kitchen items that add to the holiday seasons. It's a winner! read more

I had an excellent experience here in August 15,2018. A couple weeks prior I had purchased some items that I needed to go to Palm Springs that had broke and needed to be returned. I didn't have everything I need for the items to be returned but Anna Lidia and Lois went above and beyond to make sure that I could return the items. They went as far as to walk around the store to find the identical items to ring up so I could bring them back. To me? This is EXCEPTIONAL customer service. They could've easily said that I couldn't return the items and that I was shit out of luck but they didn't! I went in there with the expectation of not being able to but prayed and hoped that they would be able to figure something out and they did. It's very rare these days for people to care so much about their customers like this so thank you Ana Lidia and Lois I really appreciate it. read more

I go to this TJMax a lot. I do like going here mostly because it's close to my home and there's so many other stores next to it. I like all the lucky brand jewelry and the ton of makeup they have. So many choices what's a girl to do. They've cleaned it up and organized this store so everything is so easy to check out. Overall I really like TJ Max and Marshals stores. The fact that you can get good quality merchandise for a fraction of the price has always been appealing to me. I've lived in many places including Columbus OH, Chicago IL, San Diego ect. and have been to various locations all over. This store is a bit smaller than some other locations I have been to and is some what hit or miss. It's definitely not a go to store if I have something on my mind that I need to buy, but instead a store to just browse around in to catch a good deal or a unique item here and there. The nice thing is that now they have a new website that they never had before so if I can't find my size I can look online but sometimes they have very different items in store than what is actually on the site though... read more

Pretty disappointed. We all know what to expect going into these stores, which is fine. Lots of different products kind of just all over the place. But that's not my issue. There was a line, as there always seems to be, when I went in on my lunch break. I had two items to purchase; a can of dry shampoo that I found on a clearance shelf and a shirt for my son. When I got up to the register, the dry shampoo rang up at the regular price of $8.99. I pointed out and told the lady working that I got it from the clearance rack and there was a red clearance sticker saying it should be $4.99. She says she needs to make sure that's the right price. Ok. She gets some scanner thing from behind the register and scans the can barcode, not either of the two tags attached to it (one regular price, one clearance). It's still scanning at regular price. At any other establishment I've been to, the cashier would say, "Oh that's weird, let me punch in the price on the tag." The advertised/tag price is always honored. Not here. She says, "It's $8.99 it must have been in the wrong spot." Well, no, it was with about 20 other bottles of the exact same item with the exact same red clearance tag on them. She offers to go check. Then she offers to get a manager. At this point, after standing in line and then having her fiddle with a scanner and tell me that she can't honor THE MARKED PRICE, there's 15 ladies standing behind me and my lunch break is over, no thank you. She starts to peel off the clearance sticker as if she's looking to see if there's something covered up underneath it....I know she's not thinking I stuck a clearance tag on there! I politely say that the sticker price should be honored and tell her I am no longer interested in purchasing the dry shampoo. I continue with my purchase of my son's shirt and go on my way. I'm a grown woman. I'm not here to swindle you out of $4. Charge me the price that's marked and do your follow-up with the 20 other cans apparently incorrectly marked once I've gone on my merry way. I don't have time or patience to deal with either the lady or the company she works for, not knowing Customer Service 101. Have a nice day! I'll just go to Target. read more

Half star at best! Haven't gone to one in a long time so gave TJ Maxx one last try. Selection was not great, prices too high for a discount store. But worst of all, customer service is awful!!! I know it's a busy time of year, but acknowledge your customers and show you care they are spending money in your store, regardless of how much they spend. Don't shop here. I purchased a Kate Spade purse and two weeks later it broke. I went to return it but didn't have a receipt. They refused to look up my purchase with my credit card for a refund or even a store credit. Now I am out $100 on an expensive purse. Terrible guest service. read more

i love getting nice clothes at a low low price but the Tj Maxx in santee just does not do it for me. From a male stand point the clothing selection is not my cup of tea, i do not know about the woman's section it could be the bomb. after looking through the racks i mostly found fubu and Sean John style clothing, and those brands are just not my style. This TJ Maxx location is probably the best one I've ever been to. They have a lot of items, it's not cluttered or junky. I found a really cute little glass flower vase with clear wax/gel fake water inside and some smooth rocks with a huge bunch of white silk orchids stemming from the vase for $14! I love it, really makes my bedroom pop and I love the price, something like this from anywhere else would probably run you around $30 or so. The bedding section is a little empty but I love the lamp section and cookbook section as well. If you are into home decorating and domestic type of things like cooking it's definitely worth checking out to see what you can find. read more

Black Friday , busy , crowded, ans the best , kindest, most helpful people ! Every one was about the "Merry Christmas" and so accommodating ! I was amazed ! I don't understand why anyone would ever shop at a TJ Maxx over a Target or Wal-Mart. TJ Maxx is like the cheap version of Wal-Mart, if that is even possible. I have a Sears card and realized I could use it at TJ Maxx so I stopped by here the other weekend to check it out. It was terrible. Nothing was in the right place and no one that worked there knew where anything was located. I needed some new sandals and the woman working at the front just told me they should be in the back somewhere. Yeah, that's exactly how I wanted to spend my Saturday, searching around TJ Maxx for some $10 sandals. Whole sections looked like the Tasmanian Devil ripped through them and no one bothered to clean it all up. I will stick to Sears and Target, I will never come back to a TJ Maxx again. Tjmax in santee is one of my fav stores. I always go there almost once a week, but unfortunately some of the employees are soooo mean and they have attitude towards their customers. One of the managers is very rude and not helpful I don't appreciate her attitude. I hope this company rehires some other associates bc those people make the reputation of the company very bad. read more

I love shopping!!! My favorite stores that I go to are tjmaxx, Marshall's, and home goods.I go to these stores every week. I have been to all tjmaxx stores in San Diego there all awesome and they have great merchandise and the prices are incredible. But unfortunately I'm not happy with the service of one employee that works in santee store. When I go to check out I don't feel comfortable because she's very negative and not helpful at all and she doesn't respect my old age. The reason why I mentioned her in my review is because my friends told me the same thing about her. I don't know how she(bb) became an assistant manager with that personality. read more

I love this TJ Maxx store! We moved here from Poway and I was sad to leave my Steinmart, but I found TJ Maxx instead! Great prices on designer's bags, scarves, and bath and body products, too. The woman in jewelry is a jewel herself, and we found sterling silver hoop earrings for $10 on clearance! I even bought 2 small covered saucepans which are just perfect for my husband and I- Great store! read more
