They're doing little things to improve this Marshalls and each time I go in I feel like something has been moved but that's a minor inconvenience, and probably being done for necessary reasons. I wear plain black shirts 90% of the time and a solid color of some sort 95% of the time. I have found that it's hard to find ones that don't come across cheap and that's exactly what happens when you order from places like Amazon - they eventually turn into rags for around the house. I don't mind the hunt and Marshalls usually delivers a few each time I go, which is roughly once a month. My last trip yielded two black shirts of good quality and a few dark blue ones too. On top of the shirts I also picked up a few items for my mom and some other cheap-ass kitchen item. Not cheap in quality, cheap in price. I also found some good "beachy" items that will work well for a Mexico trip in or out of the pool. Though when you see the item, you might want to purchase it, otherwise if you return it most likely will not be there. I really like this store! They sell a lot of great merchandise here and for a very affordable price! I love this Marshall's. All the employees where so nice to me i literally tried on 40 pieces of clothes and you are only Allowed to take 10 at a time. So I was going back and forth and every time I would ask advice to one of the girls working there I wish I got her name it seem like she was being truthful she would be like let me see that color next to your face and then she'll ask to see the next one. Really made a really stressful moment fun. Overall out of the 40 I got 30 pieces of clothing I loved everything ! Everyone was so helpful. I know some of yall probably think she was just trying to up sale me lol but I rather have that then someone making me feel uncomfortable or giving me annoyed looks because I'm in the dressing room for too long. I've had that experience before and it's not very welcoming so I'm glad This Marshall's has very nice girls working there with very good taste of fashion because I been getting compliments with everything I had worn ! read more

I didn't know this Marshalls was here and I'm so glad because now I have one close to me! This store is well stocked and organized! Line moves fast and isn't as crowded as most locations. Isles are clean as well as the restrooms. Wished the clearance section was setup differently as it makes it difficult for more than one person to browse (it's a single isle) but the store overall is well organized and plenty of good finds! read more

I've been coming to this Marshall's for years, not as often as I used to though. This store is very big, organize, and the staff are very friendly. I love that I can navigate through the aisles and not be in anyone's way. There's a wide selection of items from clothing to makeup and stationary and you're definitely not spending an arm and a leg! I came in yesterday to buy some press on nails and later at night I opened them only to see they were used and missing two items along with several nails. They had displayed them to look brand new. I came in to return them and I was given attitude by the manager and told "why would you buy them if they looked like that" why would I open and inspect each box? That's not something you do with things you're thinking about buying. why would they process a return without inspecting the item so the next person doesn't have to deal with this situation. Not only was it unsanitary, but it was rude to blame me when I had no idea. I work retail and i understand her point of view, that's why it's always important to check the things they're returning in the first place and not be rude to someone who's being sincere. read more

Opened a Marshalls account in the University Ave store on Jan 10th. On Jan 20th a charge was made at the Gilbert, AZ store for $177.45. I had not even received the charge card in the mail yet, so don't know how they got the account information to make the purchase. Reported this to Marshalls fraud department to investigate. I paid the balance of my one time purchase and closed the account. I have yet to hear from Marshalls regarding their investigation. I really like the clothing section for baby and toddler girls, but I won't be charging anytime soon. read more

Smaller Marshall's location but I have found really good clearance items here like a nice blazer that retailed for $118 for $16 on clearance. Since the store is smaller it isn't as picked over as other locations and every time I walk in there I'm greeted by the staff immediately. I thought I had a review here. I'm bumping up my review to four stars. I ended up hitting the beauty section first. I was lucky to find some more Marc Jacobs makeup here. They had some foundation mousse and powder which I thought I would try. One was $14.99 which was the powder and the mousse was $12.99. I found a steal. There were also some bite lipsticks and some makeup from Smashbox. I really wasn't interested in those and most of the makeup were opened or broken but I checked my makeup and it hasn't been touched. Be careful when you purchase makeup because most of the time they can be opened and swatched. My daughter found some cool books. I bought her a Dr. Seuss book that had many stories in it. She was so happy when I got it for her. I just want her to read more and be happy. I would do anything for my baby girl! I definitely am glad this location had some high end makeup. I may be back again to see what else I can find. Clothes were cute too! Lots of finds here. I will be back! read more

Marshalls is Marshalls. Don't tend to review places like these, because you typically know it's a hit or miss with items and customer service I was extremely unpleased with customer service at this location. My mom went looking for a men's perfume (which she found). This was not the issue. The issue happened when she realized it didn't have a tag. Ahh but she found a used one (same product) which did have a tag. She proceeded to show cashier so they can scan her item. Cashier scanned used perfume and bagged it. My mom told them she wanted the un -used one and they told her it was the same thing . My mom explained she wanted the un-used one. The cashier (and a second cashier next to her which got involved) kept insisting she kept the used one that it was "the same thing " . Finally they huffed and puffed and ripped off the sticker off the used one and put it on the new perfume and bagged it. No thank you or courtesy at all. Being that I myself worked in retail many years... if the customer wants one item over the other and it's the same exact product .. just give it to them! Obviously the number is the same if you just peeled the tag off one and put it on the other. Lazy employees like this with snotty attitudes are the main reason I stay away from some stores. read more

I'm about to write a review that is LONG overdue (that rhymes, haha). Frankly, I'm surprised there are not more reviews about this Marshall's. I come here every so often with an hour or so to kill when I drop off my sister at her figure skating lesson nearby. I always find this Marshall's CLEAN, ORGANIZED, AFFORDABLE, and most of all, FRIENDLY. The staff who work here are AMAZING. I have had good experiences being helped by every one! For example, in the middle of January of this year, I purchased a couple of gorgeous (but heavy) mirrored dressers/side tables/jewelry armoirs and a male employee (ahhhh gotta try to dig the receipt up to credit him!) was SO HELPFUL. He assisted (ok fine, I didn't actually move any of them myself) me in carrying them out to the car AUTOMATICALLY & even gave me a small discount on one of the pieces due to the fact that it was scratched & chipped without me saying anything. It is rare to encounter an employee who acts like his sole duty is to help make sure you have the best & easiest shopping experience ever! I normally expect this kind of consideration and professionalism from personal shoppers/employees at Bloomingdale's or Nordstrom's, but he went above and beyond my expecations. I was seriously surprised at how kind & helpful he was. Besides how fabulous the staff is at this location, I come here for the goodz. C'mon ladies you know what I'm talking about! I got a beautiful cognac genuine leather purse with gold hardware & clasp (Steve Madden) for only $99.99 and seriously, (not kidding) a month later, I saw the EXACT same purse on sale at Nordstrom Rack for $199.99. YUP. WHATTA STEAL! The shoes are pretty good deals too. Let me enlighten you by showcasing another example. Michael Kors wedge rainboots for $25. UH HUH. And no, I'm not selling them to you! Unless...I mean, how much are we looking at here...just kidding. Their luggage can be surprising too. I got a cute set of silver hard plastic (360 degree wheels) Disney suitcases that retailed for $200-$500 each and got them for like $75-$100. Seriously, how can I stop coming here?? I came here to return a gift that I had a gift receipt for. The clerk was able to get the same item and see how much it was. I was given that amount on a gift card without any issues or hassles. The woman at the register was extremely helpful and very friendly. I now had $100 to spend shopping here. I started looking around and decided to try on a couple of tops. The woman at the dressing room looked like she absolutely loves her job. She made trying on clothes fun and tried to have a personal connection with each person who entered the dressing room. It was such a great experience! This place is in a kind of sketchy area and I didn't love the selection, but I would say that the customer service would bring me back to this store. read more

What I like about this location is it's never crowded and the store is clean. What I found to be wrong was my son 18 years old asked about the hiring sign they have up when you enter the store, he asked what areas where they hiring for and the Manger said they don't hire black males! I could not believe racism is bold and how these companies are putting these ignorant people in charge. I will never shop there. This place is really always a hit or miss. Sometimes I'll find too many things I like, and sometimes I come back out empty handed. It's nice that they carry name brand items such as Steve Madden, Michael Kors, etc. But most of the other items are brands I've never heard of. But generally, most of their items are higher quality. This Marshalls is a part of a strip mall located off of University Ave close to the College Area. The store is on one of the more populace sides of the mall by the Subway and soon to be Dickeys Barbecue. Parking isn't really an issue in this area since the lot is so big, and it never appears to be busy. Shopping at Marshalls for me has always a hit and miss, and this location is no exception. They don't appear to have hangers like I've seen at other locations, but I did manage to buy a nice storage container for rice for less than $5. It's smaller than most Marshalls I've been too, but it is still pretty clean and organized. What I do have say I like about this location though is that they have a pretty decent sized bathroom towards the back, which is something I cannot say for the usual Marshall locations that I frequent. read more

Soooo . . . while in Santa Barbara I went to Marshall's and apparently got hit with the Santa Barbara bug and bought an ishload of clothes. I felt like I was getting a bargain. Well, I was, but that's neither here nor there. The point is, they were total impulse purchases and might have even been retail therapy. Soooo , , , while back in San Diego, I realized I really didn't need 25 pairs of yoga pants, and decided to return them to a local Marshall's. The problem? I had not only lost my receipt, but I had also already taken the tags off the pantalones (It's a compulsion; why do you think I'm in retail therapy??) I decided to give it a shot, and went to the Marshall's in Rolando. Explaining my dilemma to Eldrick, he found comparable/similar pants and gave me store credit. (This didn't solve my impulse issue, but it at least gave me the chance to buy some clothes that didn't involve elastic stretchy waistbands and gadonka donkulous spandex - people of San Diego, you may thank Eldrick for this community service outreach) Instead I indulged in flavored coffees (Snickerdoodle, anyone?), some blazers, and some amazing boots. That's more like it! The customer service was astounding, and of course, I feel like Marshall's always has cute bargain stuff. I was returning an Item and clerk charged my account again instead of processing the return, I then told her she had charged me instead of returning the debit charge, she decline even after showing the transaction on my phone. I then spoke with the manager who said she would fix it but could not provide any receipts that she had fix it. I told her I had not authorized another transaction and was charged wrongfully she was little help and nothing was resolved, eventually I had to contact my bank to advise Marshals had charged an unauthorized transaction. Its sad I had to do this and the manager was unable to resolve the issue, thankfully I had receipts and evidence to submit a claim against the unlawful transactions. read more

Horrible service, I was looking at some clothes and suddenly one of the employees started to be super racist and "kindly" tell a customer to leave the premises just because she was with her kid and the kid (1 year old) was crying. The mom was managing to get her kid to behave while heading to the cashier when this employee started to be horrible at her instead of helping her to push the cart or something.... The employees name is Yesenia (I saw her name tag) Even I bought some stuff and regret not interfering, I went back and returned what I bought. I'm not buying from this store again. read more

I had a horrible experience at this Marshalls and highly do not recommend coming here. I saw a box of fruit snacks I wanted but it was open so I decided to make sure all 12 were in there (not going to pay $10) if someone ran off with it. When I opened the box, instead of kindly coming up to me and asking me what my intentions were, she rudely exclaimed "CAN I HELP YOU?" I told her no because I just wanted to make sure they were all in there. She walks away and another associate hovers me the entire time. When I approach her (the so-called head of the floor) to tell her one is missing, she has her phone out taking pictures without her badge on (very unprofessional). I am ONLY giving two stars because the associate at the register acknowledged the situation and was kind enough to give me a discount. He knew I was frustrated and talked up Marshalls. He is truly a model employer and I would give this guy a raise! I mean, I was ready to vow to never shop at Marshalls again but this guy changed my mind. After perusing the shelves for some random kitchen accessories and bath towels, I realized I had seen the exact same items at Ross on Midway for much less (about $5 less for most items). This is my go to place when I'm looking for gifts for children...on a good day (because there will be some days when they have nothing at all) you will find a large selection of designer clothing for babies/toddlers& kids. Designer clothing like Calvin Klein, Dereon by Beyonce, Ralph Lauren, etc. for babies at 25% - 75% off retail, I'm in! I think babies clothing should be cute but affordable and this place rocks for having that perfect combination especially since they grow up so fast who wants to pay full price for something they may only wear once? I don't. So, for sure if you are shopping for children this is a good spot. Plus, they have some unique toys, books and dvds for really good prices as well. All Marshalls stores are kind of a hit or miss kind of place to shop and it can be a bit messy, let's say "organized chaos" if you will, but so what? When you find a good deal it doesn't matter a deal is a deal. Also, be sure to check the tags because they tend to be different from what the hanger says most of the time. What else? Shoe brands for ladies Jessica Simpson, Michael Kors, etc. They have a small-ish selection of handbags that are decent. The housewares, kitchen and food sections are interesting. I found some lollipops by a brand called Yummy Earth and they are certified organic...very yummy, I'm hooked on them. Very interesting little snacks, condiments and candies. They have a nice section of seasonal items, great place to check out for some unique Christmas decor if you are into that type of thing. PS - They have the most chic eco-friendly shopping bags I've ever seen...I've actually starting collecting them. They are HUGE and at 99 cents a bag it's a steal. I take them to the grocery store and can fit 3 times as much in these than the grocery store canvas bags. read more
