Very disappointed in the customer service from Kat on my visit to the store yesterday. Upon checking out she did not greet me nor did she say a word the entire time she was scanning my items. In addition to the awkward silence she was standing as far away from the register behind the new plexiglass partition as she possibly could as if all who approached her check out counter had the plague or something. Hard to tell behind the mask but I swear she was throwing dirty looks. My transaction was done and she simply tore off my receipt and handed it to me again no thank you, no have a nice day... no words at all, just nothing! Being a loyal customer of this store I could not let this go. I proceed to my car take out my receipt and call to speak to a manager but get a coordinator instead who informs me he will speak to Kat and have a manager call me to discuss the matter further. Day 2 still no call. Shame on you TJMaxx, do better or lose loyal business it is that simple. read more

Please note that my rating is based exclusively on my latest interaction. I normally love TJMaxx but I went with my mother that was visiting from abroad and needed to return something with a receipt and had something else without one. The cashier was so rude to us raising her voice. She did not know how to do the return without a receipt since my moms ID is out of the country (she does not live in USA). She was condescending in her interaction with us. The manager was a little better. My mother felt so bad that when I went two days later she REFUSED to set foot in the store. That is how humiliated she felt. Today she went back to her country and managed to spend her $$ elsewhere!! read more

Management hire more staff! The lines are wrapped around the store and only two registers open. I was here two days ago and counted 5 employees standing around talking at the entrance while I had waited over 30 minutes in line and only two registers open!! One is counting people coming in, the other gal was just standing there and the other 3 just talking. Ridiculous. I just attempted to come in and return something and the lines were exactly like the other day at 4 PM and two registers open while the line is wrapped around the store once again I had to walk out I don't have an hour to stand in line to do a simple return T.J. This store is a part of Home Goods, and how I l-o-v-e to shop here. The site is located in a good size shopping center, so the parking is shared. I've been here many a times, and today I received services from the dressing room and at the cash register. The ladies from both sections were fantastic in providing customer service. The employee at the dressing room, Rhonda, obviously had a foot injury and was sitting down a part of the time. She was struggling to work, and that chair wasn't most ideal or had any ergonomic aspects at all. Rhonda even helped us with choosing something, and she had a lot of fashion sense, being able to rationalize reasons for getting vs not getting. She was not only courteous but quite personable and knowledgeable. I hope she heals fast and gets a better chair to sit on. My daughter found what she came for, and I found something I wasn't looking for but needed it. All this experience with great discounts! We'll be back for more! read more

When I returned a blouse and pants that didn't fit me with tags on and had the receipt to the same T.J. Maxx, they had that look on their face like I was doing something wrong. They checked and scanned and said they don't carry the blouse anymore. So, I bought it from same store , I had my receipt. They gave me a hard time before they gave my money back. ***My review here is only for the accessories section which, when you walk in, is to your right*** I LOVE the fact that everything in the handbag and scarf section is color coordinated, so you're able to walk in and go exactly to the shade that you need. You can then pick and choose and end up with something you can pay ten bucks for and that will go with your outfit splendidly OR you can go ahead and splurge for something that will set you back around a hundred but will last through a season or two. Keep in mind, though, that this is obviously a discount store and so you need to sort through a few duds before you find what you're looking for. Good thing is you don't have to look too long and you won't throw away money in the process. Personal example: I needed a black utilitarian tote for my legal externship and got one here for a whole twenty bucks. Is it the most stylish thing on the planet? No. But, it's perfect nonetheless. With twenty bucks, I got all the gain with none of the $$$ pain. This, and Nordstrom Rack for larger size women's shoes, are pretty much as good as it gets, in my opinion, for discount chains. This store is organized, clean, and has a lot of salesfloor footage. The reason I hate this store is due to management and associates. Associates are never to be found and when they are found, its 1-2 at the registers who look like they lost their soul, ran out of energy, and become dead. Smile or talk or make eye contact! Plain and simple. And for the managers, careful if you want to make a return or purchase a set of any thing. I bought a 3-piece set pet storage boxes. The supervisor said they were individually priced. Where are these tags? Why were they bubble-wrapped and placed within each box? Found out online it did come in a set and I was swindled out of 2 storage containers that I paid for. And returns, they look at you like you committed a crime. End of story, the item I wanted to return they didn't allow. But the customer behind me wanted to buy it after. So to make her day, I gave it to her free of charge. Learn something associates. You have to make the customer's day, it was sad that a customer (myself) had to make another customer's day. read more

This store sells broken suit case and then didn't take it back ! It was bought with a broken handle and when we took it back they would not return it ! I love the variety at this tjmaxx. There's plenty of people working here. Many will greet you, some are helpful, and some are just plain annoying. The helpful ones will direct you to what you're looking for is you ask. The annoying ones are the ones that will interrogate you when you return an item with receipt, tags, and within the return window. I'm not sure if they are trained to do this, but I'm always unsure what to say when they ask why I'm returning something..."um, simply changed my mind and/or it didn't fit, etc". No tricky mad science answer. Just didn't work out. Keep in mind fitting rooms are closed, so generally we will try it on when we get home. What are they going to do about it if doesn't fit, find me a size? It's tjmaxx. It would be great, if they kept the five mile line moving by just quickly getting through customers. Also, I do t want to be begged to open a tjmaxx credit card. One of the coordinators asked me three times on one minting I was certain I didn't want to open s tjmaxx card. I said no, no, no...to get her to stop, I finally said I wasn't running behind schedule and just needed her to finish ringing up my items so I could pay and leave. Her approach was so appalling. I do appreciate some of the cashiers that are friendly at check out and helpful. Three stars for the selections and some of the great cashiers. read more

Sherri. You're my hero. It's super easy to look like a teenage girls dirty laundry hamper when you have the type of vast selection this TJM has. But they keep it clean, well lit, organized and maneuverable. I had been shopping ALL DAY for a pair of jeans that actually fit right and of all the stores I went to (including The Rack across the street) Sherri was the only employee that seemed to give a crap enough to help me find a pair. Horrible service and racist upper management. Bought curtains that they didn't want to return due to them being washed and shrunk. The instructions on the curtains on washing I followed it through. Not my fault they sell poor quality items that easily shrunk. Reason washed because it had a horrible smell. She couldn't even give me a straight look in my face. I'm in line waiting to do a quick and easy return and the cashier decides to help another customer while I'm waiting for her to get a different style number. Love coming here! I buy most of my business clothes here. Everything is so affordable. Just recently my pre-teen daughter started liking this place, which makes me very happy because I've been able to get her a good amount of clothes for low prices. I wasn't too crazy about paying ridiculous prices at Justice. She now likes TJ Maxx's styles better anyway...yeay! My son likes to buy more expensive stuff (Active, Diamond, etc), but I still get his pajamas and some sweaters at TJ Maxx and he's very happy with whatever I get him. Good quality clothes. read more

I do not know about everyone else but I love this place! Well especially this location in particular the one inside Ontario Mills does not have good inventory at all. The cashiers are always really friendly at this one and always provide good customer service. The shoes at this location are always cute and their tops too. It has a Homegoods towards the back section of store that also has a lot of cute decoration selections. They used to carry a lot of cute baby clothes before but recently not so great. Disappointed in the stores unwillingness to provide a discount for a suitcase that had a broken zipper. I really liked the suitcase but the manager was only willing to discount it $1.00 for a $70.00 case. Yes, only $1.00. I walked across the parking lot and found a better case for $23.00 less than what I would have paid for the broken one. read more

Worst Customer Service i have ever recieved. So i go into this store to buy a handbag i had previously seen. As i approach the handbag section i see an employee and ask if she can unlock the bag for me, she then tell me someone will be with me shortly and walks off. I wait for around 5 minutes and nobody has yet helped me out. I then decide to go to the jewelry section to ask for help and the 2 employees tell me they cant help and that they would call for someone to come help me. i wait another 5 minutes and no one approaches me to help me out. As an employee walks by me i ask her if i can get assistance, she then goes to ask the employees at jewelry to help me out and then they start arguing in spanish say that they can not help me out cause they need to stay in there section and then the other employee says shes going to take lunch and that she cant help me out either. I WAS STANDING THERE FOR 20 MINUTES FOR SOMEONE TO HELP ME OUT AND I LITERALLY PRESSED THE ASSISTANCE BUTTON LIKE 15 TIMES AND NOBODY SHOWED UP. Some lady then asks for help as well and immediately she gets helped, and as Janet the assistant manager comes by she helps out the woman and completely ignores me. It turned out the lady who did not even wait 2 minutes got the handbag i was waiting to get for 20 minutes. So if you guys ever want a handbag from this store i suggest you bring your own lock along side with a tent. First your going to lock the bag you want and then you can set up camp next to the bag you want because you wont get helped anytime soon. Don't even bother talking to Janet the assistant manager cause shes just as pointless to talk to as any of the employees at the jewelry section and its surroundings. I told her i was there first and that i waited for 20 mins just to get that bag, and she said she could not do anything to help me. On the other hand of the story i spoke to Roseanne at the cashiers and she went out of her way to help me out, she called store after store to check if they had the bag. Thanks to her she was able to locate one at the TJ MAXX in walnut. All thank to her i was able to get the bag that i wanted. So if you are reading this review and you need help finding anything ask for Roseanne, she will gladly help you. Horrible customer service! I shop here so much, came in on a day off with both my kids (3year old) and (1 year old) I had to use the restroom urgently, and obviously can't leave my kids outside! I also can't use the restroom holding my one year old and my 3 year old! They don't have a changing station in there so I put my one year old in a shopping cart and was holding my daughters hand. I was able to change his diaper in the shopping cart with blankets as padding. I walked outside to two employees giving me the death stare, so uncomfortable! Then one proceeds to scold me on how I don't take shopping carts inside. I told her I understand but I have two kids it's the only way I can do it, I always do this in target and the employees are so nice and understanding and these employees must not give a crap about sympathizing with a busy mom! Also you guys don't have changing stations what other options does a gal have? Will be emailing corporate about this issue its not okay the way she approached me and how judged I left the store! Purchased a mirror. Removed the tag and hung it in my bathroom. Days later the attachments that come on the back of the mirror broke off and the mirror fell. I went to exchange and they told me that the next time I try to return without the tag, they won't accept it. No apologies for the defective product. So I was supposed to keep a crumbled up sticky tag in case the mirror falls? They're fortunate that no one was hurt. Instead of exchange, I chose to get my money back rather than supporting poor customer service. read more

Unsatisfied customer service, my original trip to TJ Maxx ...to find a different item, however, I love wp stainless steel cookware. What caught my attention ...wp 18/10 stainless steel cookware, which i liked...noticed on the bottom of cookware sticker removed and price sticker placed inside of cookware with loose glass lid not tied together and miss out of cookware area, I really liked the wp cookware, went to cashier to purchase, mentioned to cashier if there was anything wrong with item...because it was not located w/the cookware item and seems like a sicker was removed and placed by another, the following day went to try ross looking for an item originally looking for, coincidentally, the same wp item that i purchased the day before at T J Maxx on grand in chino for $39.99 plus tax $3.20 total $43.19 and ROSS on grand in chino, maybe severals steps away ....had same item for $19.99 GREAT PRICE!! WOW! Thought I call T J Maxx same location, spoke with location manager Kelly....mentioned item price can be checked via their system, and any other manager can assist me when i get there, since several steps away. I had my receipt w/me went into T J Maxx, asked for Kelly, instead floor manager Sheryl wanted to know my inquiry regarding price, I explained my cenario...she said the cashier recalled my concern/inquiry regarding price ..at time of purchase (cashier did not seem concern with customer inqury at time of purchase) Sheryl, looked at my receipt said she bring to associate's attention that covers the kitchenware area, and could not come to my defense ...since i did not have the original item sticker and their store prices not compatible with other not affiliate stores policy, but I coud not justify myself, Sheryl, manager said kitchenware associate was not available to confirm if mispriced, and my receipt was referring conair brand. read more
