Have some fond memories stopping here after early out days or during super late starts during high school since it's walkable as minors who can't drive. Decent amount of parking in the plaza if you are a car driver. Stock is decent and so is the selection. Since it's not in a super busy area, it's not as messy and disheveled as some of the other locations. Suburban hellscape, am I right? Back when the international students thought sports brand messenger bags were in vogue, I was able to get a Nike one here that lasted around 2 years and was affordable to my poor high school self, so that was nice. TJ Maxx in Walnut is one of those rare locations that makes bargain hunting feel effortless instead of chaotic. This store is always impressively well organized and well stocked, which means I actually get to browse instead of digging through piles hoping for the best. It never feels overly crowded, so taking a slow lap through the aisles is actually enjoyable. I've had some of my best TJ Maxx finds here, the kind that make you feel slightly proud of yourself at checkout. Everything just feels calmer and more put together than usual, which is saying a lot for TJ Maxx. I have been shopping at TJ Maxx in the area for almost 15 years, and I must agree that this particular location has the lousiest employees, and the situation seems to be getting worse by the day. From the previous review regarding Lucero, it is not her first time rejecting a return from a mistake made by TJ Maxx. Instead of calling the manager to resolve the issue, she will take action into her own hands, relying on her minimal experience and lack of common sense, and being advised by an older woman who has been working there forever does not ease the process. Shoppers cannot expect much in terms of customer service from the cashiers at this TJ Maxx location.  It shows and proves that their ability to think and work determines their level of IQ, barely qualifying for minimum wage. I strongly suggest that all shoppers save their sanity and visit the TJmaxx at the Chino location. At Chino, they offer 1.) much better customer service (no attitudes are found in any department), 2.) a cleaner facility with working AC, 3.) a checkout line that is always fast because they have 10+ cashiers open when it gets busy, and a manager is always on-site. If you ever encounter any issues, the manager will be happy to assist you. Everything that you expect in a happy shopping experience is at this location, unlike at Walnut, where customer service is non-existent. read more

Came here on a Tuesday evening with my daughter to browse the store and return some items from the neighboring TJ Maxx in San Dimas. However, to our dismay, we were turned away by the manager (Ivy) for a single dress. I was frustrated to no end. I fought and fought, but eventually I had to drive back out to the San Dimas location for the return. And gas isn't cheap, mind you. Fortunately, at this location, the process was a lot smoother. The lady behind the register explained that there was no real reason to deny the return at the other location since the dress does not appear worn (with tags) and we have the respective receipt for the item. On Sunday March 30th 2025, i visited the TJ Maxx store in Walnut. I had been shopping, and spent quite a bit there, that day . I found a lot of items. When it was my turn to check out, I had a great experience from Jason . He was very kind and treated me with the utmost respect . A very nice and respectable young man. Had placed an item on hold and when I went to go and finish my purchases asked for the item on hold. Came to find out the same associate that helped me place it on hold sold it to someone else that she knew. Associate played dumb saying that she didn't know what happened to the item and even tried blaming other associates that they must have done something with it. We had proof that i was the one that placed it on hold and associate then admitted she her self sold it providing a name and description of an associate from a parter store. It is unfortunate that associate was not accepting her mistake at first and making it seem that i must have not been the one that place item on hold. I was in the store for about an hour, was never greeted asked if I needed help no sort of service at all. I found the last set of a product but I saw that many places were completely missing thread, unfortunately it was the only one I found and the only product I liked. I decided to make line and see if there's a sort of damage discount. The line seriously took 25 minutes long most of my whole visit was in the line. I finally reach a cashier she tried to look for another one, then she asked her GM if it's okay to have a damage discount and the GM said it's extra thread. So it'll be full price which was 15.99 but more than half of the set was damaged with missing thread. I did not think it's worth it if I'm getting less than half of non damaged product. I purchased a Free People brand jumpsuit in the clearance section and a couple sweaters. The jumpsuit was a little small so I decided to return with a receipt a couple days later. They would not take back the jumpsuit because they said it was worn with pet hair all over. I don't own a pet and I never wore this item. The tags were all attached and I had the receipt. If it was worn, it was sold to me that way. I was extremely offended. I followed all return policy and procedures. I decided to visit a different location and had no problem whatsoever. read more

While I was in quarantines earlier this year, I've been itching to go shopping but got nowhere to go because no discount stores as such this was open back in March/2020!!!! Voila, we stumbled upon this brand name discount store shortly after they opened for 4 days due to CoVid19, finally opened back up about a couple weeks ago. So making This another long overdue review. I've enjoyed spending time in stores such as TJ Maxx due to its sharp discounts for Outlet style brands such as Calvin Klein, Dooney & Burke, Kate Spade...etc to name a few. Of course, they carry more brands than these. I can literally spend hours in this local discount store because of the variety of beyond household items they carry: handbags, clothing, shoes and kitchen ware. From this first shopping trip back, I've scored a new Calvin Klein bag for work: very decent in size and shoulder straps were sturdy. The only issue was since it was after CoVid19 fiasco, I had to sanitize the bag after I brought it home; thank goodness it was a waterproof shoulder bag as well. (Will add a pic later). Clean store. They provide hand sanitizer. People don't practice social distancing when shopping. They don't let people try on clothes in store. They allow returns on merchandise. So here's the deal. They allow customers to purchase clothing take it home try it on at home, expose the item to their home and other individuals up to 30 days then allow them to return the item. However they don't allow customers to try things in store and put it back on the rack. So once we return things they go back on the rack anyways, so why pretend you are keeping ppl safe? I doubt that once an item is returned you sanitize the item before it goes back on the rack. Edit: I returned clothes, they went on the return rack and then associate put the clothes back on the rack for sale. They are pretending to keep ppl safe by saying we don't allow ppl to try on clothes in store because what if a customer tries on clothes and is sick and another person tries on the same clothes and they get sick. People have been telling me about TJ Maxx over the past year or two, so I decided to check out this location after playing in my Thursday weekly tennis game. The store is similar to other discount retailers in that there are racks and racks of clothes that you have to look through to find what you may want. There are some nice iphone 5 cases for about $7.99 to $9.99. They also have phone chargers and lots of nice home items at a good discount. I found some Ralph Lauren towels for $4.99! Luckily, I also found a pair of Hurley Khaki shorts for $19.99. I've been looking for another pair like this as a backup since they are lightweight and have a clean look (as in no pockets everywhere). I love browsing this store. Folks, unless your dog is a service dog..people PLEASE keep your dogs home or in the car. Multiple times I've seen it. This weekend I went in for some R&R & dogs were yelping & whining. Was liking having to listen to a crying child while shopping. I sense management is afraid to ask customers to take their pet out. Sometimes I'm tempted to confront these people about the dog in the store, but it's not my job to enforce the law. This is a health code violation. I leave my Labrador in the car & before him I had a German Shepherd that would come with me shopping, but he stayed in the car. Seriously, one day I'm gonna take my Lab in with me. I must have spent an hour looking for things inside the store. The first thing that caught my eye were the bags that they had. They always have designer things for a fraction of the price. They had some cute and affordable Michael Kors and Steve Madden bags. I spent a good amount of time in the skin care/haircare section. I always find these sections intriguing since they have brands that I've never heard of. I ended up picking up the Heritage Rosewater spray, which I've heard really good things about. I also picked up this leave in conditioner by Giovanni. I moved onto the lingerie section where they had affordable bras and underwear. I must have spent a good 30 minutes circling the bra section. Some of the individual bras were priced between 5.50 (sale) - 14.99 from what I saw. Packs of two bras ranged from 12.99 - 14.99. They also had lots of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger bra and underwear at a very affordable price! I ended up picking up 4 bras in total. In the end, I spent around $46 on 4 bras (which is not bad considering that VS sells them for 2 for $49 sometimes), deep conditioner, and rosewater spray! We came shopping with my father here since he needed some pares of shoes and We kept asking a women in the shoe department if they have shoes but she would ignore us, until I actually went close and said "Excuse me", then she rudely told us that there is no shoes for men and left. We were so confused... we moved to the mens department where we saw this young guy named ALI, who we thought is the security as first, haha. And told him about the situation and he very politely apologized and told us that they do not offer any shoes in this store, he also helped my dad with his electric wheelchair when we had issues fixing it, turned out to be that one of the wheels was locked, this guy is a genius! I have visited this location several times, the staff is usually great and today it was no different. I'm just very upset that the women's bathroom doesn't have a changing table! The women's restaurant has two stalls, one had urine everywhere and the other didn't work. I had to change my daughter on the sink!!! I am not a fan of TJ Maxx, but this location was pretty much a home run. I was able to get a grip load of Christmas gifts in a relatively short period of time. The costs was not bad and the gifts were super cool. I would say I got at least 30 percent of my holiday shopping done here plus a gift for a birthday party. Staff was very nice and helpful. Great location but parking could be a bit of a pain during weekday lunch hours since people are out during their lunch break. There are great deals here and there but I have noticed that the men's section has been shrinking. There are no men's shoes and only a few rows of women's shoes. With any off-price discount stores, one needs to really go through all the sections in order to find what they are looking for. It's all about the thrill of the hunt and finding a great deal! To the manager, thank you for being willing to talk and attend to the needs of a family with someone with disabilities. I appreciate you and your heart. But here is my complaint regarding an incident at the dressing rooms today that my mom experienced: To the young inexperienced employee that told my mom to not bring her disabled teen son ( who HAS NO SAFETY AWARWNESS AND IS CLEARLY DEPENDENT ON A CARETAKER) into the fitting room because he's obviously not a woman, you made the mistake today of hurting and embarrassing my mother, a woman just trying to try on some clothes. YOU made her day almost horrible by giving her and my brother unnecessary anxiety induced by a simply ignorant decision to not inquire and assess the situation better, say, maybe asking for help from a higher up employee. My mom tried twice in explaining her situation to the employee, but they refused her from trying on her clothing, saying that other women would be uncomfortable with a "man" in the room. He is mentally and physically disabled, and is one of the friendliest kids out there. There is clearly a room for disabled people, but even access to that was denied from my mom. The employee proceeded to retrieve the manager. However, our family, and many other families like ours, other people with disabilities themselves are strong and we have thick skin, and we forgive you; but it's ABSOLUTELY NO excuse to be a jerk and exhibit unfair treatment of a customer. To the current manager that I actually did speak to, you are a kind and thoughtful human being, and my family sincerely appreciates your willingness to step in, correct, inform, and teach your employees, and I do hope you and the future staff will take measures to better inform and teach one another of special situations that may arise like this one, when caring for future customers. Kindness matters, and today, the day ended in Kindness. Thank you for your apology, and I did as well as my family did reach out in thanks. Please be aware and teach your employees, young and old, to have some decency and thoughtfulness when approaching a customer that may actually need help. I love not paying full price for items. TJ Maxx seems to carry a nicer variety of brands and merchandise than some of the other discount stores (like Ross). I like that this store is kept clean and things seem to be somewhat organized. You do have to look through crammed racks to find your great deals, but it is worth it. It also is not as crammed and overwhelming as other stores. The discounts seems to be pretty good, and if yo uare lucky you can find some quality clearance items. The merchandise truns around pretty quickly and there always seems to be some new deals when I visit the store. As far as the customer services goes.... I pay for a a good deal, not necessarily great service. I never really have bad experiences here, but the checkout line can get really long. read more
