I have been wanting to buy a couple squeezies for the bath walls. I was at the Rolling Ridge Plaza in Chino Hills and saw Daiso. I said this is my chance so here I am. This Daiso was clean and organized. Aisles were well stocked. No restrooms available at least I didn't see one. Actually, I don't think Daiso ever had restrooms at any of their locations. I perused around the store to see what knick knacks they have. I'm always curious what merchandises they carry. You never know what you may find. It's a like being a kid in a candy store. I am amazed on the variety of goods from household items, school supplies, toys and plushies, food items and snacks, and so much more. I finally found the squeezies. I bought a couple plus a few sparkling drinks with cool characters on them and one earphone set. Prices were reasonable. They now offer self check-out which is convenient. There was one lady staff. This Daiso is located in the plaza with the 99 Ranch. It's a smaller Daiso shop, but they have lots of similar items alike other Daiso locations. I came in looking for some kitchen wares and only found one of my kitchen items. They had a good amount of containers, stationery, and also seasonal items. The staff was friendly and the auntie that was at the register was friendly. I didn't see any fall items in their store yet, if anyone is looking for those items as of the time of this post. This Daiso is located on Chino Ave. and Peyton Dr. by 99 Ranch Market in the Rolling Ridge Plaza with plenty of parking. This is a Japanese store that reminds me of an upgraded version of a 99-cent discount store, but of course, much better products. Daiso sells a variety of things such as food, snacks, toys, decorations, housewares, hair accessories, and lots of cute & useful stuff. Staff was friendly. 9/10/24 There's always something for me to get at Daiso, a lot of times it's items that I didn't know I needed hahaha. I was headed to 99 Ranch but I simply distracted once I saw Daoso was next door down. Upon entering staff greeted me as I walked in. Like all the Daiso locations, it is brightly lit. Aisles are evenly spaced & everything is labeled & organized. The only difference I noticed is that there was a friendly announcement on the intercom about the prices listed, to ask any associate if the customers have a question about pricing & a reminder that there all sales are final. Quickly browsing & scanning the aisles for my crafts, I immediately noticed storage items & bought a few of them then proceeded to look for more paper goods for card crafting. Found a few origami papers that have cute designs. It was a quick stop over & I proceeded at checkout, no muss no fuss. The young man at the counter was courteous (he looked a bit stoic & 'mechanical', although it didn't bother me one bit, probably coz it seemed appropriate at the time for this environment lol). Just like that, I was done, got what I needed. Good & quick shopping adventure. I would love to return to this location to browse (probably shop some more) & see what else I will find. It was so incredibly hot today and very sunny. I had to stop in to buy some protective sleeves for my arms. Daiso is the perfect store to purchase all kinds of knickknacks, whether it's for your kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, garden, car, closet, garden, etc. They have it all, and then some! They have a wide selection of Disney and Sanrio stuff too! They have snacks and drinks too! Most items in the store cost $1.75, but be mindful of the color-coded items that have a higher price. DAISO used to be "all the rage." I'm throwing my daughters a princess party and couldn't help but notice there is not one single depiction of Princess TIANA! (This is who my daughter wants to be) I SMELL R***ISM. Im just calling it like I see it. Dollar Tree, 99, every other "dollar" store and also party city has all the "main" princesses including TIANA! This store used to be reliable for "affordable" trinkets. Now everything seems to be $1.75 or more, even little dinky items like princess mini ziploc containers, and any kind of small items. My recent visit was on Sunday, 11/14/21. This Daiso location is next to 99 Ranch market. I come here often to purchase literally everything. This is like an Asian Dollar Tree. The kitchen gloves here are my go-to purchase. High quality and affordable. As of 11/14/21, this location is open Monday - Sunday from 10am - 8pm. They are now selling Christmas decor! I've fluctuated between 3 and 4 stars of all 'Daiso Japan stores was due to the fact you can no longer return any item you bought. I was unable to give them 4-stars because not everything was $1.5 either anymore due to inflation or even way before inflation?! It's not just this Chino Hills' branch, but I can only give them 3-stars at this point. The chain used to only carry $1.5 items for quite awhile but not sure when they upped prices so quickly. I used to shop here for work materials and some household items but just gotta watch out for what you buy due to zero returns. Due to the zero return policy, it makes it a hassle shopping. I would still shop here but just not that often anymore. Just sayin'. PS: they charge for paper bags at $.20....if any one is keeping track! read more

This is a medium sized and well stocked Daiso location. Parking and crowds were not a problem during a weekday afternoon. This might be my imagination, but can't help but think the selection and quality of their items has decreased in the decade since I first began going. Understandable with supply chain issues and inflation, however I find myself opting for Target for higher quality goods. The store and branding are still charming. Decent sized Daiso location. Everything was clean and well lit. Good stock on what I usually go here for, cosmetics and cute things. Definitely had a couple things that the other Daiso's that I've triangulated do not have. My only issues were the organization and location of some items. It would have been much more convenient if ALL the LINE, San-x, Sanrio, and Disney items were all grouped together in a singular area instead of separated by what the items actually were (cooking items, stationery, gift wrap, etc). Also the cashier did NOT try to make any eye contact, mumbled the cost of my purchase (if I didn't see it on the register then I wouldn't have known myself), did not greet anyone nor respond when I said thank you/have a great day etc. SHEESH, I get being shy or disliking your job, but at least not make it so obvious? read more

Manager Atsuko is a terrible supervisor. The store is great, but its a shame the Manager, Ms Atsuko needs managerial school. My 4 year old child secretly added a $16 toy to our cart. Immediately after checking out, I told the cashier we didn't want the $16 toy. We were told to speak to the manager (Ms. Atsuko) who was busy in the back, and to come back tomorrow. So I returned the following day, again was told Manager Ms Atsuko cannot come to the front (weird right?), leave a cell number, which i did. Manager never called so i returned the next day and again was told to come back. I gave up and just gave the $16 toy to one of the nice employees who stated she had children. In spirit of the Holidays I said she should give it to her child. Daiso is an excellent store, but needs to find a better manager; Maybe one who isn't afraid of handling a customer inquiry. I'll be writing to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) too. read more

Discount stores or stores with a lot of inventory are typically really disorganized, but at this Daiso location I can tell the employees work hard to keep it organized, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. I haven't been to a Daiso in years but decided to stop by and found a lot of cute stuff at a good price. This location is nicely sized, and the staff was polite as well. Daiso is a Japan-themed retail that carries a variety of products - anything from school supplies to household items. I shopped at Daiso for years, and I've been a happy customer, until today. I tried to return some items at the Chino Hills location, and I was told that it does not take returns or exchanges unless the goods sold are damaged or defective. This was new to me. I looked around, and lo and behold, there IS a sign that says "all sales are final." Well, I guess I'm not much of a reader. I didn't argue, I didn't ask for the manager, and I didn't push anyone to override the store policy. I just thanked the clerk for letting me know and left. I would give Daiso 4 stars as it is a nice, clean store at competitive price point. However, the reason why I'm docking 1 star is because of the "all sales are final" stance. We're not talking about a farmers market or a swapmeet. We're talking about a chain retail store that has literally thousands of locations worldwide. While I understand that it's Daiso's prerogative to set whatever policy it sees fit, I don't like its return policy (or lack thereof). Come on Daiso, you can do better. read more

I had been wanting to check this Daiso near my work for a while now, so I went in during my lunch and I noticed that the worker Jenny (an older Asian lady) was following me around the snack aisle. Wow. Honestly, wow. My good friend Aaron had told me about this place, saying it was like the dollar store of Japan. So I was like, I enjoy a bargain and discount just like anyone else. So I better go check this place out. Lemme tell you, words cannot describe how surprised I was. For starters, I actually had to walk back outside to make sure I was in the right place. I was expecting your standard Dollar Store experience. I walked in and felt like I was in a high-end beauty boutique. Everything was so clean, organized, and professionally laid out, that I was actually taken off guard and had to stand there and just look around the store for a few moments. When I call it a dollar store experience, but I should be clear that it's more like a dollar fifty store experience. I have never seen such a classy place with such low prices. There's your usual standards such as cleaning items plates, plastic ware, food items, and so on. What I did not expect, was the selection of Japanese food, trinkets, and fun items. You looking for plastic Sushi refrigerator magnets? They have them. You looking for some Japanese beverages and snack items, they have them. The employees were rude, esp. Anna. No sanitizer in sight. The glass of the front door was extremely dirty. They did not sanitize the pen the customer uses to sign. Instead of cleaning the store and keep the store at the minimum cleanliness, they insist to be the mask police to impose policy not required by the city nor the county. Ps. I was shopping there every other week because I'm a shopaholic. Daiso has many different things ranging from arts and crafts to cooking appliances like small dishes and cups. They also have baking stuff and other nick knacks for your household. They have a good amount of school supplies and some clothing items like shirts and sports bra. Like I said, this store has a variety of things. Oh and they have some food and snacks too from Japan. I love shopping here especially when I was on a budget. Lots of cute stuff! This would be the second Daiso location I've been to, the first being at Hacienda Heights. There are some differences in terms of what items they sell, but not by much. It does seem the selection is a bit smaller here depending on what you're looking for. One thing is for sure though, this location is a lot more spacious with wider aisles... unless you start using the basket carts to stroll on through. Almost everything is priced at $1.50 which makes it hard to resist. And the fact that everything is in cute form. I somehow stumbled upon disposable undies for men. It seems like it would rip within one hard on. The fabric just looks way too delicate. My purchases here so far include screwdrivers, tissues, plastic cases, flashlights, hand fans, and pencil bins. Bf bought the lint machine and said it actually worked. He also got a USB light. For debit card there is no minimum purchase but for credit card you need to purchase at least $10. The Japanese version of a 99 cents store but better. The aisles are packed with lots of Japanese goodies, and most are only a $1.50. Snacks, make-up- I've heard that their eyelash selections are good quality not sure though, scarves, socks, slippers, plastic containers like bento containers, kitchenware with some nice-looking knives and graters, toys, school supplies, tote-bags, and umbrellas. So many colors and styles for their ceramic dishes and they're around $3-$4, I found several that I wanted to buy but didn't. The most expensive thing here is a Japanese doll for around $10. $10 min to use a credit card but there's no min if you use a debit card. No returns or exchanges. When my lady found out that I had gone to the opening of the Daiso Japan location in San Diego a few weeks prior and seen my photos, she hadn't realized at the time that there was a location 10 minutes away from her place in Diamond Bar. So, you guessed it - we decided to check it out! Just like the location near my place, almost everything here starts at $1.50 - a few food items are a buck or less, and I haven't seen anything over $10 yet. I was surprised to see in the clothing section prepackaged dress shirts (men's and women's) and disposable underwear (also men's and women's - yes, there really is such a thing as disposable men's underwear... I don't think it'll fit me, though). On this visit, I bought my mom a new scarf ($4) and some face masks ($1.50), and some munchies for me. Kathy bought herself a couple of umbrellas and a steering wheel cover along with some snacks - she later told me that she could go crazy here if she wasn't careful. And I'm inclined to agree... Very clean and very large store - I could easily walk around the aisles while J-pop aired overhead. However, as other Yelpers have noted, $10 minimum for card usage (and no Discover card, either), plus all sales are final.
