Man at register made fun of me as I was walking up and he thought I couldn't hear. Mean people.

Great service and always find what I need. And unique items for my home. One of my favorites to go to.

My son bought me a Tommy Bahama shirt for Christmas and I had one... So I took it back today (Jan…read more20) - it still had all the tags on it and wasn't even unfolded or ever out of the package. It was listed at $119.00 and they offered me $19. I was livid... the manager said since I didn't have the actual receipt (it was a gift) it probably went on sale for a day and that was the price they would give me - a little over 1 tenth of the list price. After spending tens of thousands of dollars there over the years (I have 3 children who helped) this was the treatment they give their solid customers. What gall! They probably do that with everything - day after Christmas they put everything on sale for 25% of the price for a morning so they can screw all their customers with returns. After this blatant rip off, I would never go back to Macy's - ever.

I understand having the sales person work the entire island but they are being set up for failure when you have the volume of customers you get four days before Christmas, walking up to both sides of the counter and demanding immediate service. We waited 40 minutes as two people we watched walk up to the other side of the counter (while we were already in line) demanded that they were next and made the poor sales woman ring them up for several transactions- all the while the line on our side was growing past the three people who had already been in line. Macy's- I know you are a failing company at this point. But please do both your sales people and customers a favor and get some organization going. Literally all you needed was a sign on one side saying to go to the other side for service while there is only one person working the counter.

I picked up a few items from the men clothing section and made my way to the children section on the second floor. I placed all of my selected items my reusable shopping bag that I entered into the store with. As my son and I made our way down the escalator to the first floor I was approached by a man asking me to step to the side so he could speak with me. I stepped to side of the escalator and the man said "we observed you stuffing things in your bag and if you just give me the things I won't arrest you." I was floored by this accusation. I explained to him I am using a reusable shopping bag and I am still shopping. Once done I will pay for my items. He replied "this is what management is saying and we do not use those bags we have the carts or our shopping bags." I replied I was not aware that I could not use my own bag to hold my items and transferred my items to a Primark bag. After this unpleasant encounter I made my way to the register. As I placed my items on the counter I asked the cashier if I could speak with a manager. The cashier asked for the reason of my request and I informed him I had just been accused of stealing. The cashier called for a manager and apologized to me. The cashier inquired as to who accused me of stealing. As I look up I see the guy who accused me of stealing standing at the end of area leading to registers. He quickly ducked out of sight when he noticed me pointing at him. The manager Bryan arrived and I shared with him what happened. He apologized and claimed it was a misunderstanding. I also shared I was visiting from NC. I expressed how this was embarrassing and I never left the store to be accused of stealing. For the man who approached me to assume I was stealing because I was using my own shopping bag was unacceptable and low. There are two sets of register in store however only set of registers was open and this was on the first floor. There is an entrance/exit on the second floor in the children section where I was shopping before being approached on the escalator. Again I never left the store or passed any point of purchase area before being approached. This was not a misunderstanding it was profiling situation. I was threatened with being arrested and embarrassed

This is an odd store…read more Some people that come here are looking to spend less on clothes that may be on sale due to the clothing being irregular (manufacturing defects). My dad was in the clothing industry for over twenty-five years and the last time he brought me here for shopping I am pretty sure I got a black sweatshirt on deep discount and it ended up being five or ten bucks. My dad said meh, if you get a few wears out of it then the sweatshirt won't owe you anything. Something to that effect anyway. I came here recently when trying to get a dress shirt for an interview that wouldn't be too pricey. I only found one that was a slim fit and ended up returning it along with a six dollar tie that was made out of recycled waste? It was made out of something recycled, any who, I do not plan on coming back but I do see it is typically busy at the cash register so I think this store may be more tailored for the pre-teen, younger crowd on attracting them to buy fad items. As always people SYOY!!

He had heard mixed reviews about this location but decided to give it a try anyway. He brought his bag in, and they told him it would take about 25 minutes to go through the items and provide an offer. While he was waiting, I decided to go inside and look around because I had seen Plato's Closet before but never really knew how it operated. He described it as kind of like a thrift store. Overall, the staff were very nice and engaging. One thing I did notice when I first walked in was that the front area of the store looked a little cluttered with bins and bags from customers selling clothes to Plato's Closet. I understand that's part of the business model, but I think having a more separate or designated drop off area would make the entrance feel a little more organized and welcoming. The dressing room is very small basically just enough room to stand. I do wish they had higher hooks for pocketbooks or belongings and maybe a small bench or something to sit on, but it's definitely more of a basic fitting room setup. I actually ended up purchasing a couple of items. My only hesitation is the pricing. In my opinion, these weren't really "thrift store" prices. Most of the pieces I looked at were around $18 each, and then I grabbed another item for around $5. So while the store wasn't bad at all, I think it really comes down to whether you personally feel the item is worth the price. Overall, not a bad experience, just go in knowing it's more curated resale pricing than typical thrift store pricing.

Well I recently went back because I saw a purse on Instagram that I loved and it was from H&M so I had to check it out. That combined with the fact that I realized a large part of my wardrobe used to be here. Well H&M you killed it. It's so clean and the newer setup is so nice and generally pretty easy to shop. There is a good flow to the store. This was the nicest store at the time, especially when compared to Forever 21 which was a hot mess. I walked out with a few items but I really wanted to highlight one of the one young girls working - I didn't catch her name , but she was so nice and started up a natural conversation with me about one of the items I was looking at.
