My son bought me a Tommy Bahama shirt for Christmas and I had one... So I took it back today (Jan 20) - it still had all the tags on it and wasn't even unfolded or ever out of the package. It was listed at $119.00 and they offered me $19. I was livid... the manager said since I didn't have the actual receipt (it was a gift) it probably went on sale for a day and that was the price they would give me - a little over 1 tenth of the list price. After spending tens of thousands of dollars there over the years (I have 3 children who helped) this was the treatment they give their solid customers. What gall! They probably do that with everything - day after Christmas they put everything on sale for 25% of the price for a morning so they can screw all their customers with returns. After this blatant rip off, I would never go back to Macy's - ever. read more

The jewelry department needs to be better managed. It is four days before Christmas, they have one person at each "island" and absolutely zero direction on where to go to check out. I understand having the sales person work the entire island but they are being set up for failure when you have the volume of customers you get four days before Christmas, walking up to both sides of the counter and demanding immediate service. We waited 40 minutes as two people we watched walk up to the other side of the counter (while we were already in line) demanded that they were next and made the poor sales woman ring them up for several transactions- all the while the line on our side was growing past the three people who had already been in line. Macy's- I know you are a failing company at this point. But please do both your sales people and customers a favor and get some organization going. Literally all you needed was a sign on one side saying to go to the other side for service while there is only one person working the counter. read more

There is a man who works in the women's shoe department. He seems like he has worked there for a long time and is genuinely one of the most miserable people I have encountered. If you actually get him to help you congratulations because he seems to like to stand at the front desk and not do anything. The sad thing is most of the departments have friendly people willing to help. This man needs to do better or find another place to work. read more

Been doing business with this Macys for over 3 years. Never have an issue with staff. The store layout is perfect. Easy to navigate. They're pretty well stocked. New stuff comes in weekly. Other than that, very nice selection of dresses and professional apparel. I only have a few complaints. 1) I wish they had more strapless bras and Bussieres in their intimate apparel section. If you need something specific for a wedding you may need to order online. 2) Their discounted return clothing section is a hot mess. Clothes just thrown on the floor getting stepped on. 3) Dressing rooms are not monitored very well. Lot of people come in here to rip off tags and you just find the trash all over the floor. 4) Need better security to keep the kids under control. read more

I placed an order mid morning today for same day pick up. Received an email an hour and half after placing my order (but an hour after the store opened) that my order was ready for pick up. Headed over, pulled into a "customer pick up" parking spot (designated by the doors), entered my car style, color and location form the email I received. Willow Grove Park Mall is not where I normally shop, but sometimes a little diversion pays unexpected dividends. Generally, I find the latest incarnation of Macy's to be a shoppers hunting ground. There are always sales, coupons, and additional discounts on lots of the merchandise, so at least in the clothing departments, it is possible to find quality pieces at surprisingly good prices. This Macy's is laid out as the others in Oxford Valley or Quaker Bridge, but on this Saturday late morning/early afternoon, there were many fewer customers, and salespeople. Not sure what the story was, but I found what I needed, tried things on without interference from staff, and only found slight delay at cashiering on the way out. It was almost like they were using an honor system. Pick out what you want. Try it on. Leave what you don't want. Pay for what you do. Interact with Macy's only when you draw your credit card. We trust you. Saved about 60% off the original price, and left a happy man. read more

Update: I made another trip to this location to pick up some designer clothing. The gentleman that was over in the Ralph Lauren section was a phenomenal employee. Patient, personable, well-mannered, professional, and just overall pleasant to be around. I actually enjoyed talking with him as I made my purchases. At one point, during the purchase, I had to call my bank to let them know it was actually me using my card. I had people behind me so I let them go ahead of me while the bank verified everything with me. This man was so patient and accommodating that I found myself blinking in astonishment. Its always a pleasant surprise when you actually get exemplary customer service; since usually it customer service is terrible. After I had completed my purchases; he thanked me earnestly and asked that I come back soon to shop with the store again. Amazing experience. This is now one of my favorite Macys when I am in the area. read more

I have shopped at Macy's Willow Grove ever since it opened, and I've always enjoyed the experience. However, lately the store is a mess . The floors in women's dressing rooms are so filthy that and when the pants I was trying on touched the floor, the dust left streaks on the legs. There are clothes lying around, some of the doors are nearly off their hinges, and they are so understaffed there are only two customer service stations in the entire basement level. Clearly, the store is understaffed. Most of the staff is pleasant enough, but a few in the women's department scowl and act like they'd rather be at a funeral. What a shame! read more

This Macy's. Well it's slightly better than the Macy's on Roosevelt Blvd. It's also better than the one at Neshaminy. And by better I mean the selection of the clothing. It's more diverse and wide so you're not restricted to the Macy's branded items. I assume that's the same for the women's section since my wife likes this Macy's the most. The problem with Macy's, and a lot of businesses in this area, is that the employees just kind of suck. My wife and I went in the other day and had a lot of returns to make. We had some houeswares, men's clothing, and women's shoes. Yes, they are all from different departments and that was a lot of stuff to haul around. So the first person in the Men's department refuses to accept our non Men's department items. So I ask if this means I have to move this stuff to three different departments to do returns? And I was told that's their policy. The second department didn't have this policy. How strange. I don't know why so many people here are just so lazy. Maybe because they're underpaid. Also, the store was severely understaffed. It was hard even finding someone to help us out. And then when I was looking for the bathroom, I almost defecated myself looking for someone to tell me where the bathroom was/able to locate the sign. Return policies are the strictest of any major retailer. You have to have your items blessed by a priest and have the president write you a letter of recommendation before you're deemed worthy enough to make a return. Terrible customer service! The lady who works at the same register every time I come pick up my online orders. She scolds me and raises her voice and treats me as if I killed a member of her family! She ordered me around and began telling me what to do with my toddler. Very unprofessional. Staff never knows where orders are and make customers wait for almost 45min til they even print a receipt!!! This will certainly be my last time coming to this location. read more

I've watched this store decline from one of the best places to enjoy a day of shopping to an unpleasant nest of nasty, unhelpful, rude employees. Read the other reviews for this Macy's-the employees are the problem!!! It makes me sad to see this place disintegrate. Although the inventory in Willow Grove is better than most PA stores, the bad behavior by employees' in Fine Jewelry and Women's Clothing have forced me to rethink where I spend my disposable income. The manager in Fine Jewelry told me upon my returning a piece of jewelry purchased online, WITH the receipt & tags firmly on the item that he "did not take online purchases in the store, I should mail it back or whatever." He directly told me "Do not use PayPal for Macy's purchases." He claimed that a bar code sticker was missing which prevented him issuing a credit, even though the entire tag, order#, Item#, webID#, purchase price & tax were were intact. He was loud, rude, and arrogant. I showed him that I had purchased many large diamond pieces from that very Macy's-right from his counter; he then had a dramatic hissy fit in the store-walked away from me with my item, took up another 20 minutes of my time and still would not take online receipt return or guide me to help in store. In women's clothing downstairs, possibly new hire cashiers yelled to me as I walked into the dressing room, "Hey you, hang up your clothes when you're done." Hey you-do what? I'm a frequent shopper and I always return my items to the rack. I also buy loads of clothes here, or used to. The regular employees I deal with were not present. I've noticed that the new hires in women's clothing drop new purchases on the floor without apology, do not fold the clothes before putting items in the bag, and make little or no attempt to use the right coupons like the experienced employees who were a pleasure to deal with. There is one great, knowledgable employee in Men's Clothing, a man. Most of the other cashiers in Men's aren't that great but the Men's store inventory is plentiful here. Maybe the cashiers in Women's are new holiday hires but rude employees in different departments of the same store tells me there's a big problem with Willow Grove Macy's. The employees in Cherry Hill, Neshaminy, Customer Service online and other Macy's are reliably helpful, Willow Grove has a specific personnel problem. read more

There's been some times where the staff act like used car salemen vultures preying on your every move in there. Today I went to Macy's to buy a cologne set for my husband for father's day. My cashier was Angela in perfume and cologne section who had the most digusting attitude towards us. We asked her simple question and she ignored us. We asked her the question again and she appeared to be very annoyed. Lady if you hate your job just quit. I am grading as one star because of difficult experiences using my Macy's card. What I found was, by the time I received my bills in the mail they were overdue and I was charged interest. When I tried to cancel the card, on three separate occasions, (today, on November 5th, and on December 21st, all three times the representatives have told me that my account balance is zero) Macys continues to charge me fees and interest on the fees. After calling Macy's three times to attend resolution I think other people need to know this experience. If you decide to use a Macy's card to get the discounts, make sure you go to customer service and pay the bill the same day so that you're not charged interest excessive and unreasonable and unreasonable fees. read more

The slowness of their employees pushed me to have a bit of a breakdown in Macy's today! I went shopping with my husband to buy him some fall clothes. We had 5 shirts, a jacket and 3 pairs of jeans. We get up to the register and of course are asked if we are shopping with our Macy's card, which we were. He talks us into to signing up for something that is supposed to give us a coupon however the coupon doesn't work on ANY of our merchandise, nor does the one we brought with us. This is frustrating enough. After ringing everything up TWICE he begins to remove things from the hanger AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE and placing everything on the back table. Another employee comes over to clean said table and starts grabbing our stuff which we have to yell out about so she doesn't take it all away. I start taking the remaining clothes off the hangers because clearly he is not capable of doing so at a remotely normal pace. We tell him to just shove everything into a bag because at this point we had been in line "checking out" for close to 20 minutes. Next he tries to place the jacket into a garment bag. This is where I lose my shit. He must have NEVER put anything in a garment bag before or had dry cleaning because he is struggling with this for about 5 minutes, next the bag starts ripping and finally another cashier comes over to try to help. This is where I said please forget the Goddamn bag and just give us the jacket. WE DON'T NEED A BAG! I apologized to them for being rude but in my LIFE i have never been so fed up in a store. It probably doesn't help that I am also 9 months pregnant...either way. I will probably NEVER come to this Macy's again. Bloomingdale's has WAY better customer service and employees who don't move in slow motion. read more

I always shop at Willow Grove Macy's because it is convenient for me. I have experienced the worse customer service so far in that department store. The women's department have the worse employees working there. They are not friendly at all. If you ask them a question, you will definitely get dirty looks from them. Today, I went to get a cologne and the nasty employee that worked in that department was extremely rude. Her name was Angela. I asked a question, she literally ignored me. Rude and unprofessional at the Clinique stand. I was supposed to receive a tote bag along with my purchase, which I did not. I called various times, thinking that could be a mistake, they make me wait long times before answering, gave me some excuses and reassurance that they would took care of it. I was never able to talk to a manager. When I understood that they could not care less of my request I placed a compliant over the phone to some other Macy's department. I received a call back from Ashlyn the Clinique consultant. She told me that I would receive a replacement, which of course never arrived. Buyer Beware! This is one Macy's that I will NEVER set foot in again! I have had two negative experiences here. The first was when I bought an electric blanket. Or so I thought. I get it home and open it up and there was no electric blanket in it. There was a cheaper blanket in the electric blanket packaging. Needless to say, I took it back and received a refund. My advice to potential customers is to make sure you check things like this BEFORE you leave the store to save yourself a trip back to customer service. The next one was when I had to get a Keurig coffee machine. Now I am aware that you get 10% off of electronics. That said, when I went to check out, I saw that someone had a return and it was taking sometime so I walked over to the bedding section. Upon getting there the sale clerk asked," are you buying that?" I said yes and she proceeded to ring up my purchase. When the coupon screen came up, she made it go away as I was trying to look at it. I wanted to see what was available because I was going to make more purchases downstairs. When I attempted to explain this, she told me, "That's ALL you get" in the most rudest way possible. Shocked I did not say anything. This clerks mannerisms and attitude was disgusting. After the sale, I went to customer service. The lady there was very pleasant and explained that the sales clerk is supposed to "pick the coupon that will save you the most."She also stated that electronics on sale is subject to 10% off. Then this is what gets me:" She said who was it that was rude? JANELLE? I will talk to her". You know what this tells me? This tells me that management is aware of the rude behavior that this Janelle person displays yet she is still there being rude and nasty as ever, Had I not needed the Keurig as a gift, I would have returned it. But I had to keep it. Fine. But I will NEVER set foot in this Macy's again. read more

Just left this location and let me tell you how disappointed I am. I was excited to spend the gift card I received for my birthday. I got a couple of shirts then went to the shoe department where the sales associate (not sure of his name but I believe he is Indian) do not ask him for help. I saw a pair of boots asked him for my size he said this is the last pair. He checked and said nope last one. Funny bc I found the same boot in 2 different sizes. I asked where the next closest location was and he said Montgomeryville mall. Then he said I have a nice pair of shoes for 111.00 dollars. Really the shoes I was looking at were on sale for 35.00. I would have thought he would try to help by calling another store to see if they carried them. I will never buy shoes from this location again. Wish I could give negetive stars. read more

On Saturday, June 15th I was shopping with my son in the men's department. Due to sales and Father's Day it was very crowded. We got in line to check out and were assisted by a very nice sales person and a gentleman by the name of Paul, we had some coupons and a gift card. Turned out the gift card was old and not in the system. Paul made a couple of phone calls, found out the card was last used in 1998. He went out of his way, went downstairs to the cashiers and had the money put on another card for us. We tried to tell him we would come back some other day and he would not hear of it. He did not want us to be inconvenienced. I have always found the sales associates in the men's department to be very professional. They are one of the reasons that I continue to go to this Macy's. read more

I shop at macys all the time, I buy everything there but now that the closet macys near me is the willow grove one I avoid it if I can because the manger Crystal is very rude !!!! Worst customer service I ever experienced! I came in to do an exchange and couldnt find anyone at a counter so after looking I eventually found her at one and asked to do the exchange. she refused and she told me to go to the back counter. I told her i was back there and couldn't find anyone available and she said " I just to you to go back there so that means someone is available and she rolled her eyes." I told her she was being very rude and asked to speak to another manager which of course I couldn't according to her. Not to mention while this was going on another employee was standing there having a conversation with her.
