Phew! My fiancé and Ryan and I are moved into our new home with the ultimate kudos to Logan, Tee, and Chris. Finding a moving company was a bit overwhelming initially- there were so many and found out several have extra fees. We chose Flat Rate because there are no hidden fees and their customer service was already impressive after talking to David about the rates. Plus, duh-Yelp reviews! I had requested a quote and Logan had gotten back to me right away. Called back and ended up talking to David, who was very professional and knowledgeable as he explained the process. Rate to move 2 separate apartments Ryan (Alameda) and me (Oakland) to Hercules was $165/hr cash. $50 non-refundable deposit to hold our date. I had emailed the crew about the logistics (pics of items, arrival times, etc.) They had confirmed our move and agreed to wear shoe covers after they brought everything in, which was helpful to protect the newly cleaned carpet. Logan and his team (Tee and Chris) were about an hr late to Ryan's place (eta 9-10 and they arrived closed to 11a due to an issue.) However, they worked super efficiently. I was so impressed at how they made moving look so easy, especially when Tee and Chris carried my huge L-shaped couch down 3 flights of stairs (super reminiscent of the Friends couch episode - "PIVOT!!") except in the most calm and skillful way. The crew wrapped everything up nicely, handled the items with care, were beasts moving super heavy items as if it was nothing, and were just generally awesome pleasant and polite guys. Didn't turn up! I was scheduled for a move on Oct 3 at 12 noon. Got a confirmation from Logan Sep 21, and then again on Oct 1. On Oct 3 morning, I confirmed with him again. I was told he had a job until 12, so he might reach my place around 1pm. I don't like writing negative reviews but after two emails directly to the business with no reply, I feel the need to share. The crew was supposed arrive at my apartment between 9-10am. Around 10:30am, there was still no one to be found so I called to ask if there was a delay. I was then told the crew had called in sick. I was offered another crew to come out, but not until 3pm because they were currently at another job. Since I absolutely had to move that day, I accepted their offer. The crew arrived at 4:30pm, 1.5 hours later than the quoted time, but it was understandable with Friday Bay Bridge traffic, plus they did text me that they were running late. When Ty and team arrived, they were nice and professional but seem tired. They started right away moving my boxes. I made sure everything was packed and stacked, ready to go. (I've moved a few times over the last ten years) About two hours in, I was told that they needed to make a trip to my new place and come back for the rest of my things after because it wouldn't fit in the truck because they didn't pack it tightly as they could. I wasn't happy but figured my new place was only a little 0.7 miles away, so it should be pretty quick (it wasn't). They also couldn't take apart my bed because they didn't have the right tool, they had four or five tools, but didn't have a long nose plier. I had to ask a friend to come and help with that, which was not convenient. They unloaded the first round of items into my garage and went back for the rest of my furniture and boxes. Upon our return, I noticed 2 pieces of wood under the stairwell. It was a piece from my dresser that they moved earlier - it broke off when they were taking it down the stairs. When I brought it to their attention, I was told they could tape it back for me. I was a bit shocked to hear that because that's not a fix. By now, it was dark and it started sprinkling, my furniture and remaining boxes were all wet during this second round move. When we returned to my new place, Ty asked if they can unload the rest of my things into my garage and have another crew come back in the morning to move them upstairs because the team was exhausted. I was then told I was their THIRD job of the day. No wonder they were exhausted, slow moving and not very coordinated. I felt so bad for them but there was absolutely no way everything from my 2bd/1ba apartment would fit into my garage, plus that's not the service I was expecting or paying for. As a compromise, I asked him to move my furniture and a few heavy items upstairs and leave everything else in my garage, because I knew they were completely exhausted (and dropping boxes vs carefully putting them down - I watched my clearly labeled Fragile box with my lamp inside be dropped heavily. I told the mover that he just dropped my fragile box, he said "oh, sorry" and carried on. My lamp broke, along with a couple of dishes) but mainly because it was close to the 6 hour mark and I just couldn't afford to pay for another 2 more hours to move all of my things upstairs. I was referred to this business by a good friend who had an excellent experience. Based on the positive reviews on yelp, and the quick reply I received, I was feeling good with my decision to use their service. Clearly, it didn't turn out the way I expected. I'm still very disappointed. I was quoted 3.5 -5.5 hours to move a 2bd apartment, which included placing everything where it belonged in my new unit. Instead, I received a crew who was exhausted, which is probably why it took them so much longer to move my things, they had to make multiple trips which added more time to the move itself, broke furniture and a lamp and left 2/3 of my boxes in my garage. As much as I appreciated Ty and his team for wrapping my furniture/TV and being as cordial as possible through their fatigue, I paid for 6 hours of time, almost $1000, for a move that did not meet my expectations nor was what this company advertises. I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. At the least, I expect to be reimbursed for the broken items as well as get some money back due to the inadequate service. Huge disappointment! read more

We hired Flat Rate Moving Co. to do a pack-and-move based on a positive referral from a friend. However, we had a really bad experience and wrote about it on Yelp. After reading our review, the owners of FRMC contacted us and apologized profusely. They said that the mover they had assigned to our job was clearly out of his element, and that he's being retrained. They then offered a generous compromise to compensate us for our trouble. So in end, we are satisfied with our experience. While the move didn't go as planned, it's clear the owners care deeply about customer service and are willing to make amends when they mess up, which is all you can ask for. This company is a total scam! I had a scheduled move on Saturday morning and NO ONE showed up and NO ONE picked up the phone at all. Even worse, until today no responses from the company so far either. About a month ago, I submitted a quote request through the company website and was reached out through email and phone. They had to load a massive amount of stuff down stairs (no elevator), down the street and onto a truck. No problem. They came prepared. During the move, one piece of furniture got chipped on the side. When I conveyed it to Logan and his team via Yelp, he contacted me about it and promised to send a repairman to fix it as well as reimbursed some amount to account for the damage. Great service! Requested a quote mid November for a beginning December move. Was able to get a move for the 1st. Quote was for a few pieces of large furniture, but the movers were able to accommodate additional furniture in the truck which helped speed up our move a lot! Very fast and efficient, but safe. Movers were about 30 min late, but communicated with me ahead of time that they were running late and still made up for it with their friendliness customer service. Logan showed up on time with two others wearing masks and they performed a Herculean commercial grade treadmill move from garage, down twisting flights of stairs! They figured out how to take it apart to get it down, put it back together and then moved several other heavy pieces. Very professional, would definitely hire again, and highly recommend. Logan and Chris are everything one should look for in great movers. They arrived on time (right at the beginning of their planned 10:30 - 11AM start time). They worked hard from start to finish. I had quite a bit to move! They brought a 20' long UHAUL with them. Now that I know better, a 24' would have been ideal. The movers who helped us out from Titan were awesome. They unloaded an entire 20-foot UHaul in about an hour--and carried some really heavy and awkward furniture up three levels of stairs! They also waited a long time for us to arrive since we had some logistical problems for us to start the morning, and they stayed until the job was finished! A few months overdue, so I've forgotten the names of the specific folks I worked with but my memory of how helpful pleasant and professional they all were is super fresh. Prior to hiring Titan, I'd just completed a move a couple months earlier with another local company, The Fighting Irish*. The owner of The Fighting Irish actually picked fights with me throughout the whole move, as well as damaged my property; I was blown away by his hostility and terrified of what I might encounter on this move. Had a behemoth TV to move from a loft space, down a flight of stairs and up two levels to the street. Guessing it weighed 300lbs. Logan and Clay(?) actually showed up early. However, when I called the morning of my move I was told that one of the movers were injured and that they were trying to find help but that they would be at my home at 1 or 2pm. Although I said OK I was wise enough to know better. I never got a call back. I called them at 6pm just to see what they'd say about coming and I was told they referred me to another company and that company should be calling me. I never got a call and I was waiting on one. I truly thought twice before writing a negative review during COVID, when I know job security is important, but this company is not reliable and ultimately cancelled on my roommate and I the day of our move, and I feel obligated to warn others. What happened was, Logan told me the day before our move that he no longer had a truck available for us (despite my reservation 2 weeks prior and confirmation with Dehlia that morning via the Yelp app) but that he was calling in a favor from a friend to do our move instead, 2 hours after our scheduled time. When his friend and his guys showed up the day of the move, they took a look at our apt and said it was too big a job and that Logan had told them the apt would be smaller, and they left. At that point, Logan went dark and stopped returning my calls and texts. We were scrambling to find movers, ended up using the Lugg app, and were fortunate to have a great experience with them. read more

Bad experience for a simple move. I was supposed to get 3 guys and a truck. The first guy was on time, but the other two were late, one about 20 minutes, the other 1 hour. The truck they brought was too small for our loft (a single space basically), even though I wrote that the size of the move would be a 2br space just to make sure that they don't underestimate. So they ended up having to drive twice. I think the truck was smaller than the smallest U-haul truck which costs 20 something dollars to rent (way less than this 2 way trip cost me). They also didn't bring a dolly so they carried everything by hand, guess how fast that went. On top of that one of their movers was on his phone the whole time and was literally standing in my living room making arrangements to pick someone up from the airport at 8 pm tonight. Pick up a box maybe? In general they didn't seem very experienced in moving, they were pretty much figuring stuff out on the go. One of them was surprised drawers came out of a chest when you tip it the wrong way. A box with an old guitar that I really don't care about was dropped, so no harm there, but what if it was a precious one? Also, they flipped and tipped boxes without regard of what could be in it. I opened up one box after the move and I looked at the bottoms of all my spices, one of them came loose and was spread out all through the box. Why does a square box have to be turned upside down, ever? Just hugely disappointed. +nothing broken +polite read more

We kind of met Logan and his wonderful moving crew by accident. Let me explain, initially we had hired another local moving company (before we knew about Titan). The 1st moving company notified us in the middle of our move, after halfway loading our trucks that they had a DMV appointment and had to leave! We were stuck in the middle of our move without movers with another family expecting to move in our home the next day! We went on to Yelp found Titan movers and explained our situation. Even though Titan had been booked that day, they were empathetic to our situation. They decided to finish up their current job and came to our house to finish ours. Titan finished our move well into nightfall that day. They saved us! I have since hired them for a second move, they are hard working, efficient and fairly priced. (I found Titan Moving on Yelp.) I called them one day prior to ask for a quote and availability to move from one city in Solano County to another (about a 30 min drive). The catch: all I needed to move was a dresser and two nightstands. Not a lot of moving companies will do minor jobs like mine, as they can be time consuming and not worth it for what it is. We found a day that was agreeable, and a price as well. Most were quoting me high prices (multiple companies $400+), however Titan Moving was reasonable for the task and hours of labor. Two men (Logan and D) met me at the location of the item, and we drove back together to my place where they moved everything in. Blankets were placed, and the items wrapped in plastic, so there was no damage from the move at all. That dresser was heavy, yet they did very well and managed it with efficiency and care. They finished in the time frame that was quoted on (actually a bit earlier, which was nice), and they take cash to make it easy. Big thanks to Logan and D!
